Original Trilogy Collection / Re: any ewok
« on: October 29, 2004, 08:16 PM »
Funny, but it looks like those Kubrick collectors are getting way more Ewoks than the 4" collectors.  I think they've only got like 25 or so figures in that line so far, and Hasbro's got well over 500 now.  They'll have 3 different Ewoks already, and Hasbro's stuck on what, 4?  That's pathetic.  Not that I like Ewoks, but pathetic nonetheless.

Do they all have that "Previews Exclusive" sticker on them, even here in the U.S.?  Yuck.  I hope not!

Has anyone opened one up yet and checked it out?  Worth $50 or $60?  I'm thinking more like $40 myself, but since I never had one of these as a kid, I'm looking forward to it, regardless of price.  Much like the Shuttle a couple years ago.

Collections / Re: Hemish's Collection

Great collection Hemish!

This finally arrived in the mail

Did you get all four of those at once?  If so, wow.  I assume that's the SOTE Vader there.  What did they all cost you, if you don't mind my asking?  Whatever it was, well worth it.  Some of the top pieces of the modern line.  Congrats!

Coming along nicely!  How much longer do you anticipate until you feel like you're close to a finished state?  Must feel good though just making some progress.  A lot of my collection is boxed up due to lack of space.  Hopefully I'll have some more space when we get a new place next year.

So what's with the vintage figure in the clear baggie in the top right corner?  Also, has your Max Rebo really faded that much?  Or is there something weird about that figure that I don't know about?  Haven't pulled my vintage one out in years, but hopefully it hasn't deteriorated in a similar manner.

Keep the ideas coming!

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: VOTC C-3PO on Ebay??
« on: October 28, 2004, 01:20 AM »
I STILL haven't found one of these yet, despite seeing plenty of the other three ESB figures now.  Doesn't make sense, since this is the only crappy one out of the whole VOTC line.  Despite that, I still need to own one though!

Anyone else in the same boat, with no C-3POs in your area yet?  Or am I the only one who's still getting screwed on this one?

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: OTC Y-Wing - Free Shipping
« on: October 28, 2004, 01:18 AM »
I finally found one of these tonight, and while I'm usually not a fan of EU, I think this new color scheme looks pretty cool on this thing surprisingly.  Still prefer the OT yellow though, but this will look alright hanging on the other side of the ceiling, I think.  So Hasbro's gotten creative with the A-Wing and Y-Wing now.  Think they'll keep going?  Something different with a B-Wing?  I personally wouldn't mind a blue A-Wing like in some of the ROTJ artwork and concept sketches.

I've never been a fan of ewoks in general, but I am an old schooler in that I'd like to see Hasbro finish off the rest of the vintage line in the modern era.  So let's start with a Chief Chirpa first and foremost, and then work our way down to Lumat, Romba, and Warok.  Throw in a new momma Ewok with her woklings for the hell of it too, while you're at it.

Then get back to the good stuff!   ;)

This series, with all its hype, has been a tremendous disappointment thus far.

Most definitely.  Aside from the Sox finally lifting their supposed "curse" and a little bit of excitement in game 1, this series was a complete and total bore.  One of the worst ever IMO.  The Cardinals were absolutely pathetic, beyond the point of just "good pitching beats good hitting", though that certainly played a part in it.  But the Red Sox have just been unstoppable the last couple weeks in winning 8 in a row.

But congrats to Beantown and all of it's long suffering fans.  Must be nice to get that monkey off your back!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Episode III - Preview Figures (SPOILERS)
« on: October 26, 2004, 11:48 PM »
These look just as good as that wave of prototypes we just saw last week.  Color me impressed.  Very impressed.  Awesome articulation, great neutral sculpts, good paint.  Just please, please, let this new quality translate into further figures from the OT!

I'm not such a fan of the prequels, but at least Hasbro appears to finally be pumping out some really top notch product.  I just wonder why it took them 9 years to finally figure it out.   ???

I'm surprised at how poorly St. Louis has been playing so far.  After two incredible league championship series, the world series has been a major letdown so far.  I was hoping for something a little more competitive than this.  St. Louis comes back home and almost gets shutout?  That's weak.

So, anyone want to place bets on whether we'll see another miracle comeback from 3-0 down?   :P

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Troopers
« on: October 26, 2004, 02:47 AM »
Well, I was going to add my two cents in here, but I think that Lando and Jesse more than have it covered!   :P  I'll pretty much take all of the above, thanks!

But yes, seeing how well the SA Clone and VOTC Stormtrooper were pulled off, there's just no reason for Hasbro not to kick ass like this on every possible army building figure out there.  Just no reason.  It also sucks, obviously, that the two aforementioned figures are virtually unattainable.  What a waste.   >:(

I never heard of this, and definitely never saw that poster.  Sounds cool though.  You have any pictures of it?

Our KBs barely even carried Clone Wars product in the first place.  But what's odd is that your store if putting this poster out so late Famine.  I wonder if your store is just an exception, or if others are just now putting their's out.  Anyone else have any idea?  Is it worth pursuing this, or did these actually come out quite a while ago in most other KB stores?

While I'd obviously prefer the figures stay at $5, many of us have stated we'd be willing to pay a buck or two more if the figures had more articulation and better detail.  Based on what we saw last week with the ROTS prototype figures, it kind of looks like Hasbro is surprisingly headed down that path.  So if they stay the course with figures like that, I think I could maybe tolerate a slight price increase if I have to.  Target may start out at $7, but I think TRU and WM may come in at a dollar cheaper, so Target will eventually get with the program and drop their's too.  Just hope there's some OT figures in the mix somewhere, and not just all ROTS!

I'm contemplating getting one of these sets, and returning my OTC X-Wing and Tie Fighter to Target, since I never got around to opening them.  Little cheaper, and like Morgbug said, a much nicer display with the Costco set.  Plus a couple pilot figures thrown in.  Can't beat that!   8)

For those that have this, is the Luke figure the old POTJ version with the nasty buckteeth, or the new OTC version that looks a lot more normal?
