I second the need for Motti. He's a 1999 figure and it shows. He was out of date when they repacked him in the Briefing Room multipack.

For the record, the repack Jabba's Goons figures going up for sale tomorrow are priced at $16.99. Is this the 2023 price for standard figures now? Who knows? But it is higher than the Target exclusives were except Morak Fett.

The Paz Visla is priced $27.99, which I think is up a dollar from the MSRP on Tatooine Fett and Dark Trooper deluxe figures, and obviously much higher than the WalMart deluxe figures went for.

We apparently haven't reached the ceiling yet.

Yeah, the Officer figures are a very mismatched bunch when you take the 15 years or so of sculpting techniques and line them up together. Jerjerrod is kind of the "peak" of sculpting for me, that 2006-2009 sweet spot. Much like last year's Lobot was a little too GiJoe for me, I still prefer the look of the 2004 figure there.

I don't need an Imperial Officer whose tunic has a huge split under the armpits, but I get the feeling that's what is on the way. I skipped the new Bespin Guards because the reused pieces didn't work well in my eye, and that torso cut made zero sense with the piping on the jackets. I can skip ugly Officer sculpts too.

They referred to Piett as "Admiral Piett" in the reveal so he could go either way TESB or ROTJ, but I lean towards ROTJ so they can use their snazzy 40th logo in the corner of the card.

I expect Hasbro is going to be offering a good number of Imperial officers over the next few years now that they've got a TVC Imp officer body in the tooling library.

I'm not sure how many "named" officers there are in the movies and shows (might make for a rainy-day project), but they could turn them all out if they wanted. Hopefully they could make an easy way to swap rank badges (at least for productions sake). Sure, we'd get a bit of officer fatigue, but we'd get several officers redone and some new ones as well.  I'd love to see an updated version of the Death Star Conference Room set from back in 2006 or some ISB types like Krennic (who is sorely needed) or Officer Evax.

I get wanting a new Imperial Officer buck, and I am glad to have an updated/promoted Admiral Piett, but I really have no gripe with the current Moff Jerjerrod figure and this wasn't needed in my opinion. I would go so far as to say that if they are picking characters from the DS II Emperor's arrival scene to make, releasing Jerjerrod next year instead of Sim Aloo is pretty tone-deaf as far as what fans have been asking for. I understand they want to use the Imperial Officer mold again to held meet their budgets or whatever their deal is, but I also feel like Sim Aloo could be wearing an Imperial Officer uniform under his big robe for all we know, so just sculpt up a head, sew him a soft goods robe, and check this guy off the list instead.

Same for Jerjerod, and he probably opens the door for head swaps and more imperial officers

He is actually the second Imperial Officer figure pipelined now -- they pipelined Admiral Piett in the summer. They truly do like getting two uses out of new molds right out of the gate these days.

1027 is the street address on Hasbro's HQ building.

Would it be wrong that I’m secretly hoping that Hasbro brings back the mini-rigs?

I loved those as a kid.

Don't forget the Speeder Bike now costs $45. Are you willing to pay $60 for a new CAP-2?

Half of my Stormtrooper orders got canceled, and it's incredibly annoying.  There also doesn't seem to be any sign of this wave coming back into stock online, and I can't recall seeing any store finds reported for any figures in this wave.

I have been keeping my ear to the ground on if/when these latest exclusive figures show up in store, and there has been nothing so far. I refuse to preorder from Walmart anymore, but I would like a couple of these figures if they appear. You would figure with all the cancellations they have to be have some locked away in a warehouse earmarked for stores, right? Either in the shippers or the PDQs would be ideal. If they are just in normal cases they may never see the light of day until they are passed on to discount chains.

Kenner Retro Collection / Re: 2023 Kenner Retro Collection - ROTJ
« on: October 19, 2022, 10:18 AM »
My 5 year old and I have played both games a million times now. People buy it. Why wouldn't they do it again?

Nothing boring about this line. I'd love more new figs and this is the least helpful to my vintage collection with only one place holder but I still think it's fun.

Well, on the third outing with the "Mandalorian" Retro wave they made the board game figure a dirty Remnant Stormtrooper and put him in a Monopoly game that cost $50.

So let's hope no really "new" Retro figures come out in board games anymore. They already broke it.

To be fair, there are people out there who have wanted an Eternia since 1987, and this is the first chance they've had to get one ($The crowdfunding price is way more affordable than buying a vintage one.)

The "Ghost Rider but with a car" is a character from the 2000s that collectors like me didn't even know was a thing until the Haslab started.

I hope seeing the success of Eternia pushes Hasbro to finally do a new USS Flag...that's a grail item many would be happy to scratch off their wishlist.

I can't believe how boring Hasbro has made this line.  All they had to do was sprinkle in a few unmade characters and people would lose their minds.

Boring? They put a big "Retro" sticker on the card, and a 40th Anniversary blurb. We're approaching NASCAR-levels of logos here!

I haven't heard as much, though he did shut down conversations that showed when people were reselling the Banthas on eBay.

What are you looking to get for them? Shoot me a PM and maybe we can make a deal without resorting to an eBay listing?

Also he has a production Ball Speeder in hand now, so those should be coming along soon.

Here is what he said on twitter:

"If the art is any indication, there will be 2 gonk droids, 2 astromechs, a mouse droid and the surprise droid. I’ll go out on a limb and say it’s a holiday repaint of B2EMO."

Hmph. I wonder which comment came first? Or if his definition of "new" droids does not include repaints of "old" droids?

But I really do love that Yoda -- so glad he isn't wearing that sand colored robe. I don't want an update, but that is my go to Clone Wars Yoda for sure!

Or how about just new Clone Wars non-clone figures in general? There are so many more important CW figures we could use in realistic style. Four of my favorites have been in the last few posts.

non-clone Clone Wars figures? Next you're going to want non-Mandalorians from The Mandalorian!
