The Legacy Collection '08-'10 / Re: The Return of Saga Legends
« on: January 14, 2009, 12:04 PM »
I was in two Targets this morning, one right as it opened, the other within 20 minutes of it opening and they had clearly both received the "new" Legends this morning as they had none yesterday. No sign of the Snowtrooper though. Has anyone heard anything about anyone actually finding the Snowtrooper? Could it not be in the newest case even though its pictured and numbered in the middle of all the stuff that is in stores now.

I'm sure what you are saying is right. But I also don't think Grandma is going to just do a drive by shopping, not see Drath Vaber and make a run for the door. She is going to have to look through the figs for a longer period of time anyway.

And by the way does anyone know where you can pick up a Drath Vaber figure? I still don't have one and he probably is my favorite character. I bet he's been in stores on the pegs but after thumbing through so many figs for so long I just gave up. I bet I'll be able to find him easier in the new packaging. j/k  ;)

So something else about the package has got to make them want to look at them.

Maybe the big honkin red Star Wars logo will do the trick, no?

Good call (and it made me laugh). The more I look at the new package, the more I like it. I like the attention on the picture being given to the specific character and not something generic. I'm not discussing this as far a overall sales here, but just what I am going to enjoy having in my collection.

So, I stumbled on these things in the isle at Target last night.  Hadn't heard of them before.  The figures are attached to those bases and appear not to have any articulation.  The bases are some type of play-doh stamp.  Each has, I think, a personalized emblem - like for pressing a wax seal.

Also, my target had reset its toy aisles, but a couple sections, including Star Wars, were starkly barren.  I might need to stalk it, as these first GH waves of the year always seem to pull a vanishing act.  Random note: some type of gaming cartoon called Bakugan (from Nelvana) had a humongous shelf allotment, fwiw.

Were those the only 2 style of the Playdoh/GH sets that you saw? How much were they?

Hasbro will own the action figure aisle this year.  They're getting their money one way or the other, plus THIS IS Star Wars.  It will sell no matter the competition within its own lines.

Very nicely put!!!!!

I don't remember saying you weren't qualified to say what you thought. I just think that having a big picture of Vader's head as opposed to the specific character isn't going to determine sales on them. I will admit that none of the economics courses I took to get my economics degree had formulas that stated whether Vader's helmet or Maul's head had an outcome on overall profit but this is just my opinion. ;)

As Keonobi said it was horrible to look through Indy stuff because you had no choice and with the new SW card you can just quickly glance the side. I like that.

I think this new design looks like butt.

It's too simple and doesn't scream Star Wars.

It looks like a simple box.

I never was a carded collector, and this new design doesn't make me want to start either.

How should it "scream" Star Wars more than having it say "Star Wars" and have a large picture of the character?

Just wanted to say that I think you are right on Jesse James with your last post. When you let a selfish ego maniac do whatever he wants he is going to rip your team apart. It's a lot more the organization's fault than it is the media.

Any chance anyone out there happens to still have a receipt with or just knows the Target DPCI # for the Star Destroyer?

Kurt Warner draws God (or Jesus).

That's just weird.  Why does that even exist?  It's weird enough to happen, let alone for it to have been videotaped.  I thought for sure the picture would look more like Brett Favre.

I'm assuming it exists because if you can get a "celebrity" to praise Jesus more people are going to listen than if you or I do. The drawing was odd, but if it works, then good.

So, Nick, would you keep Frerotte over Jackson then when Gus' back gets better? I've heard Vikings fans praise Tavaris, but Frerotte was the one who turned the team around and got them where they did.

They absolutely should have started Gus instead of Tavaris once his back was ok. You HAVE to be able to throw the ball down field. I'm certainly not saying Gus is a great choice but at least he is an ACTUAL QB. What the Vikes really need to do is go out and get a young real QB. Who I don't know. But if they had seen what I saw the first time I watched TJack play they could have already gotten someone else.

What in the world are anyone who thinks Tavaris Jackson is a NFL QB wathcing. The guy absolutely can't run a pro team. Why don't the Vikings front office and Childress not see that? He can't throw the ball.

If you were watching the game with someone who never had seen football and had one sentence to say the QB is the guy who...... wouldn't you say who THROWS the ball? He can't. There was zero chance he was going to bring the Vikings down the field for 2 scores in the 4th quarter.

Your down that much with 2 minutes left and all you do is throw 3 yard passes because your "QB" can't throw the ******* ball. There are so many NFL QBs like that nowadays. I don't get it. I can't stand it. I don't want a fake RB as my QB.

And now because he played mediocre in the last few games as opposed to horrendous in the first two game he will be our QB next year and buy the time the idiots finally catch on that he sucks the rest of our team won't be around. I'm so pissed right now.

Yay Vikes. I'm not a bad wagon fan like JediJman apparently claims. You can like more than one team (I'm also a big Patriots fan). I still don't like Childress or Tavaris though.

Enjoy your 9th overall pick Jman. I would argue someone who cheers against their team is less a fan than a bandwagon"er".

The Vikings SHOULD have let Green go when the did.

And now to make myself cry  :'( I will point out that the Vikings could and should have had either Dungy or Tomlin as their coaches instead of Tice and Childress.  :'( :'( :'( :'(

Go Vikes!!!!!

Even though I'm a Viking fan I've also liked the Pack in the past. But after all the Queen talk I think I will cheer against them (and I hope I don't lose my ability to find Power Ranger toys where SW toys will fit behind-inside joke)  ;)
