We need a Bears win and a Vikings loss this weekend. . .

What a beautiful game last night.  Kudos to the Pack for giving us a good game while still hurting the Vikes playoff chances and getting the Packers a better draft pick next year.  I love it!

Yeah you go ahead and love it. Have a good January and February planning for the draft. Hopefully us Vikings fans will be watching playoff football. Keep us updated on what the Pack's draft board looks like this winter.  ;) (I'm sure the Vikes will choke AGAIN and we'll be doing the same)

I'd love to see a Vick-less Falcons win it all.

I agree!!!!!!!!!

It's amazing how much better football you can play when you don't have a super over rated dog murderer as your quarterback.

Anyone pick up "Tales of Beedle the Bard" yet?  I figured since it's only $7 at Target and the money goes to charity, I'd pick it up today when I go out to buy TDK on DVD...

I bought it and read it. It's fun to have something Harry Potter again, but for $7.50 (I know it goes to charity and that's great) it was a little disappointing. It takes about 45 minutes to read.

The book does take place after the Legacy of the Force stuff. And defineately mentions some spoilers if you haven't read that series yet. However, it also tells you the story of the day the Falcon came off the assembly line through when Han won it from Lando.

Anyone else read this yet? A lot of it was kinda far fetched, but none the less interesting to learn the past of the Falcon.

I agree. But that's what happens when your reading a book that's a description of a video game. It was really easy to see yourself in the video game fighting off enemies and then getting to bosses and passing a level when you were reading. So that didn't surprise me.

I love this line because its nice to be able to get vehicles where scale doesn't matter. But they are so hit and miss. I read someone finds a new wave 3 weeks ago and then never hear of them being seen again until 3 months later. Quite frustrating.

Other Collectibles / Re: Clone Wars Happy Meal Toys

I haven't actually seen these in person, but from the pictures I've seen I like them. And off of what Jeff was saying, as crazy as it sounds, I think Happy Meals are meant for little children and not 30+ year olds.

Just wanted to point out there is a huge difference between a "street date" and the day a Target "planogram" is supposed to set. A 3/23 Target date just means the endcap has to be up by then not that it can't go up before then. A street date means you can't put in out before then and if you do you could get penalized by the company who produces it.

When I saw pics of this I thought what a waste but when I actually got my hands on it I was impressed. The two fat wookies together really looks cool. And to have them battling Stormtroopers instead of Clone Troopers tops it off.

I agree a lot with what you say Muftak however to say that they "killed off" Pellaeon doesn't make sense. I loved his character and will miss him, but he was 92ish years old. He had to die soon and I'd much rather he go the way he did than to find out he had a stroke two years later.

And I miss Mara but big characters have to go sometime otherwise there is no drama when they are in bad situations if you know they will always make it through.

I enjoy the Mando stuff, but felt it would have fit in its own book better than cramming it into these books ever so often when Traviss was the author.

And anything is better than the Killik books!!!!!!!

Its been a week and a half since I got mine but the book is only $20 on clearance at Barnes and Nobles now for anyone who isn't already aware.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Darth Bane Novel
« on: January 22, 2008, 03:10 PM »
Has anyone read the 2nd Bane book? I did and I think they easily could have called it Darth Zannah instead of Bane. I wanted to learn about his apprentice but still more about him than I felt the book did. If they were going to concentrate on a different Darth so much why not do the Plagueis book like they were originally.
