Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Transformers Live Action Movies
« on: July 5, 2014, 12:01 AM »
Saw "Transformers" for the 4th time today.

Update-Just checked IMDB and apparently there are four different "Transformers" movies and I've seen them all once. Can anyone verify that?......

And if I find out Nicola Peltz left "Bates Motel" mid season last season to go shoot this I'm gonna have to introduce Michael Bay's crotch to my foot.

Just thought I'd post this if anyone is interested. I know if I hadn't bought one semi recently I'd have jumped on this one. Sounds like it has a couple issues and isn't complete, but a great price for a "starter" one.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The "Space" Issue
« on: June 29, 2014, 01:15 PM »
The "space" issue has been one I've been ignoring for many a year now. But as I've gotten more and more willing to let loose vintage stuff be a part of my "official" collection I've started to think about opening some 1995+ stuff. It really is fun to actually "interact" with the toy. That being said I can't bring myself to go all in. I really do like a lot of the packaging AND there is no turning back.

So my newest thoughts are to open most of my stuff that isn't "basic figure" scaled. So 12", 6", Mighty Muggs, Unleashed, Galactic Heroes, etc.

Anyone else out there ever do anything like that? I can't decide how much it really is going to help with how much 3 3/4" stuff there is. And my biggest question really is; has anyone ever started opening their stuff and then regretted it down the line? I only hear the "I'm so glad I took the plunge stories", but there has to be people out there who have been disappointed in the end.

Gentle Giant / Re: Gentle Giant Jumbo Yakface

Couldn't not grab the POTF version for under $60 so he arrived today. I am up to four of these (Yak Face, Greedo, Lando, Fett) and each one almost pushes me over the edge to buying more and more and then I pull out my wallet and I'm back at the top of the cliff.

Leia and Yarna are really nice. I bid on a slave Leia from the same guy I got the Tarkin from, but it went a little higher than I wanted to go. I got the Tarkin, a Vader and two Imperial Commanders in this lot for what I was willing to pay for just the Tarkin.

I know this isn't everyone's favorite thing, but recent additions:

"vintage" Grand Moff Tarkin. Imperial Commander's body painted to the correct color scheme, rank, etc. with a vintage Battlestar Galactica guy's head. I really like it.

custom painted vintage C3PO so it looks like it's Glasslite. I've always liked the look of that C3PO and won't pay for a real one.

12" Figures / Re: Disney Exclusive 12" Electronic Figures

Was tempted for about a minute on the Stormtrooper last weekend while at the MOA. But the $30 made it any easy pass in the end.

Obnoxious ebay week.

Paid $6+ for a loose General Madine figure with autographed cardback by Dermot Crowley. I can't guarantee it was authentic and seller couldn't either, but looked good enough to be worth a try to me.

Just got my money refunded with explanation the seller's "dog ate the figure and cardback". I don't know if I should laugh or cry or what.

Sise Fromm, no robe arrived today. Got him for pretty much right what I wanted to pay too.

I now have every vintage Kenner Star Wars figure (at least one version of each anyway, don't have all variations).

About 70% are carded and thus complete. Of the 30% loose some are not complete. As simple as a weapon or as expensive as my Droids C3PO having no limbs (yes I know it's a stretch to say I have that figure then).

Now for the long process of figuring out what accessories I am missing and finding them on the cheap. That'll have to wait though. Finally wallet you get a rest.

Fun day, but kinda sad too.........

First thing is I realize this isn't a big deal at all. Six baseball cards for all of 50 cents.

But I won two lots of three MN Twins baseball cards from a guy last Sunday on ebay. When I try to pay I get a message from ebay saying his paypal account can't accept my payment at this time. I let him know, he says he contacted paypal and they said paypal is down. I have had no problem with paypal the rest of the week including paying other people.

I have let him know I have been trying to pay all week and it still doesn't work. I asked him if his other items he sold same day have been paid for by the buyers. I have asked him what he would like to do about it. He isn't responding. I emailed paypal for suggestions and they were useless.

Is there a way to ask ebay to help without it opening a case? I don't want to open a case for 50 cents worth of cards that the issue is him not getting his money. But it's obnoxious he won't respond and I'd like my cards. They may not be valuable but filled a hole in my collection and I don't buy his story about "paypal is down".

Any thoughts?

Wasn't sure where to ask this and didn't want to start it's own thread: Does anyone have a Friar Tuck from the 1991 Kevin Costner "Robin Hood" movie toy line in with their Jabba's palace themed stuff? It looks like since they used the Gamorrean Guard body for him he'd fit in quite nicely without his robe on. Just a random thought I thought someone might have some insight into. Thanks
