Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Transformers Live Action Movies
« on: July 5, 2011, 01:37 PM »
They were making fun of Shia the other day on the local Sports radio because he had said he was done with the TF movies since "Sam's character was fully developed now". So in theory he is done. I'm sure if they stick a briefcase of money at his feet he'd do another though.

I was expecting this to be horrendous like the second one, but forgetting the fact it could have been 30 to 45 minutes shorter I thought it was worth seeing. Glad my friend dragged me there.

Found Koth, Offee, Colt, and Vancouver Clone Trooper yesterday at a local Target. Nice to find something for myself finally again.

I would love just one toy from this line, but can't pull the trigger for the $75ish. $1350!!!!!! No words.

I had to look up a picture because I had no clue who they were talking about. I actually recognize that dude. Sounds like DUI is the initial thinking.

At least he didn't kill anyone else.

I thought I heard he killed a passenger too. But I could be wrong.

LEGO / Re: Recent Acquisitions

If I have the chance to pick up a 2003 Lego Yoda's Hut w/ X Wing still sealed in the box for $25 I should jump on it, shouldn't I?

JD Sports Forum! / Re: NHL 2010-2011 Regular Season
« on: May 27, 2011, 01:32 PM »
I like the drawn out playoffs. To me the NHL regular season is pretty worthless, relatively. With 16 teams making the playoffs and that it seems like there are more "upsets" in the NHL than other sports in the playoffs I like that the "real" season takes this long. Just my opinion.

I agree that it isn't a choke losing to the Canucks, but, and I'm just basing this off of the handful of games I watched of the Sharks this postseason, they sure do seem to blow a lot of third period leads. They seem like they can't close to me. Is Joe Nathan or Matt Capps on their team (had to take my chance to pour some salt in my MN Twins woes).

Thank God they finally arrested one of the jacka@%es you beat the Giants fan on opening day. Hope he gets put away for a long time.

How much would you pay for a vintage Vlix figure that was missing, say, a leg, but in otherwise decent condition?  Not exactly the same, but I'm sure people would pay some good coin for that shot at owning one of the most rare Star Wars figures.

Would it be a lot different than paying a $100+ for a box for a very rare/desirable vintage piece?  The box for a Flagg, for example?

   E...

I hear you and I realize that an item is worth what someone will pay you for it, but I just didn't know Stretch Armstrong was that popular still. I don't think there is a stretcharmstrongdefender.com.

I feel the opposite on those shows. The storage guys are taking advantage of people's lack of being able to pay for their storage. Now don't get me wrong that isn't their fault, but indirectly they are taking advantage.

And I think the Pawn Star guys are more than fair. They have to make a profit and they don't pretend things aren't worth something. Did you see the episode where the lady brought the Fabrige spider broach and wanted $1000. Rick said, "I couldn't steal this from you. I'll give you $18,000 for it".

854
I know those things broke after time as you stretched them and they had mentioned a full one was worth like $12,000. But would you pay a third to half price for a head of a SW fig? Just seemed crazy to me.

855
Not even sort of the right thread, but does anyone watch "Pawn Stars"? Did you see the head, missing the body, that they bought from a Stretch Serpent from the Stretch Armstrong line? He paid $500 for it and the toy expert said it was probably worth $4000 to $5000. I didn't know that Stretch Armstrong was still that popular that a piece of a toy no matter how rare would be worth that much.
