Other Collectibles / Re: Kotobukiya!
« on: February 28, 2012, 01:06 PM »
My search of the internet has done nothing other than make it look like I'm trying to look at Japanese porn at work. Does anybody know when the Jaina Solo "Bishoujo" statue is supposed to come out? I've seen 2nd quarter and 3rd quarter 2012 but that really doesn't mean much.

I want to know what is up with the "these cop zombies don't have bites stuff".

Picked up a really nice condition vintage Obi Wan on a repo 12 back card. Not the most exciting score, but I don't have any real 12 backs so that sold me.

Where at?

Cedar Cliff Collectibles in Eagan. Fun store to visit every once in a while.

Speaking of which, went back and grabbed the ESB original figs in really nice shape on repo ESB cards of R2 w/ sensorscope, Leia Hoth, and Luke Bespin. Didn't have them so I caved. Works really well as a way for me and my OCD to keep my "official collection" being stuff in the package and yet adding vintage stuff without it being expensive. (Don't ask me how my OCD justifies things.)

Was holding this in my hands yesterday. For $180 it was mine. Just couldn't do it. Wanted to so bad though.

I'm going to start this today I think. I have never owned an XBox and thus never have played KOTOR. How "confused" will I be? Any thoughts?

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Darth Plagieus Novel Cancelled

If you enjoy SW books you need to read this. The Plagueis stuff was interesting. The Palpatine stuff is fascinating. Getting the back story and "behind closed doors" stuff on him leading up to and into The Phantom Menace.

And then all the interesting things about and leading up to the roles of Jedi Master Dooku, Padme, Sifo Dyas, Nute Gunray, San Hill, Valorum, Darth Maul, Qui Gon, Obi Wan, and the list goes on.

Fun to read a SW book again that I really enjoyed.

Started this. Pretty interesting so far. Just getting to the part where Plagueis is going to meet Palpatine (or at least his family) I believe.

New episode tonight?

Haven't seen any previews around the web yet...would not mind having a week off.

My cable guide shows "Generator Rex" is on in the time slot.

A Target around my area has the Battle Pod packs AND the Darth Maul packaged CW figs on clearance for half off. Guess they just didn't sell well enough this first week? Weird.

Another thing...How come a zombie's only goal in "afterlife" is to eat people?  You'd think at some point there would be a twist on what their hobbies would be in one of these movies/shows.  What's wrong with carrots?

There is a great scene in "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" where they come across some zombies eating cauliflower in a garden because it looks like brains.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Choices of One
« on: February 15, 2012, 02:37 PM »
I have read "Allegiance" and now am getting close to being done with "Choices of One". Anyone else read these? I feel like Mara is a little too "good" in these books. To become Luke's wife she couldn't be straight up dark side maybe, but being one of the Emperor's Hands I feel she's too concerned with saving the innocent of the Empire. Just don't buy it. Almost wished I had stuck just with the older Zahn books and then the Mara Jade Skywalker books.

Star Wars Universe / Re: 'Star Wars' in 3-D?

Saw it last night. Same feelings. Glad to see it again on the big screen, but the 3D was meh. I still cringe at some of the dialog.

Was cool to have the theater packed with lots of young kids.

Finished "Ascension". I am interested to see where this will now lead. Wish they had got to this point sooner than with one book left. I saw the Abeloth/Roki Kem thing coming the minute Abeloth was fascinated by her on the "TV" inside Ship.

It makes me laugh in a annoyed way at how easy it is to become the leader of the Galaxy in these books. How many different coups were going on that all were working out?

And I'm still not sure I'm a fan of Abeloth. She's too................... I don't know what, but there's something about her abilities and how powerful she is, etc. I still don't buy into.

Anyway, looks like I will have to buy "Apocalypse" new and not wait to get it used.
