Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Class Reunions
« on: May 19, 2003, 05:58 PM »
I skipped my 5 year one and went to the 10...waste of time.  Everyone I wanted to stay in touch with I have and I hate the "Do you recognize me?" game anyway....

Other Collectibles / Re: Master Replicas Force FX Lightsabers
« on: May 19, 2003, 03:23 PM »
Now the question is, what the hell should I do with my complete set of pathetic garbage Hasbro lightsabers now...?   :-[

Good question.  I too have the Anakin one that has the sound effects and the wisdom of previous Jedi Masters ( I never did play with it enough to become one myself) along with the others...now what?  I was thinking of giving one to each nephew (as they left the house of course ;) ) but I'm pretty sure my sisters would remind them to bring them back and play with them here!! :-\.

It's interesting to hear about the electronics in everyone sabers as I think everyone has had a flaw or two (or more) in their sabers.  I was always wondering if Vader was pushed back to fix the "quirks" that were found in Anakins.

I will pick one up for sure (if I can find one that is  ::) ).  I didn't know the lightsaber joined together so that was a nice surprise.  I was under the impression that the card color was going to change but it seems I was wrong.  I know I read it somewhere but it must have been in a rumor thread or something.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Where is C-3PO
« on: May 19, 2003, 03:06 PM »

we'll probably be seeing the rumored Deluxe C-3PO in the not too distant future - on his Ewok throne/chair.  Should have the articulated knees

SHOULD Being the operative work here  ;)

1.  The Empire Strikes Back
2.  Star Wars
3.  Return of the Jedi
4.  Attack of the Clones
5.  THe Phantom Menace

Looks like many of us agree on this one.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: New Han and Luke - Stormtrooper Style

If you think about the way the GI Joe bodies ar built, we could actually have a Han with his feet up on the control console because the one I have in my hand sits quite well in that pose (ankles crossed) and stands good too (of course this one is held together by a rubberband inside his body and not the original black band since it broke so he is a little "looser" than the norm).

The more I think about this idea, the more I like it EXCEPT make sure the figures have all the articulation mentioned above and a good face sculpt.  I might even break my buy-only-one rule and go for two  ;) .

I am all for a new version of both.  I didn't like the trash compactor scenes (I know Luke had wet hair but he had no eyes, at least in the ones around here).

I'd rather have them sold on a card per the way MisterPL described or sold as a cinema scene three pack along with a new hoodless Ben.  Top that off with the ability to actual FIND them and I'd be a happy camper!!

Mikey D, I just love that dancing Spiderman.
Anyways...
My Mom's parents were both Irish and my Dad's were from Croatia.
Pretty much explains my temper. :o

Everyone knows all about my collection here.   My children (and my hubby) have had to suffer through each movie because I would be featured in the paper, on the local TV station & on the radio since it seems like even the smallest towns try to get caught up in all the hype and I am the only one who proclaims my "addiction".  I've had the Walmart greeters actually wait for me to come in so they could tell me that new stuff was stocked the previous night!  I guess in a small town it's hard to keep secrets anyways and since my license plate does say "Ms Jedi" the cats pretty much out of the bag. ;)

Now if you ask my family...well, I know when a teacher makes any reference at all to star wars in any way, the entire class expects my kids to know the answer.  And my husband has taken a lot of good natured ribbing on tagging along with me to conventions and he's always asked if he's sleeping with Chewie yet (as if he'd ever let me put star wars bedding on the bed...I know my limits!! :-*).  Maybe they would have liked me to tone it down some but.... ;)

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Where to start (comics)?
« on: May 14, 2003, 09:01 PM »
I'd also like to recommend "Tales of the Jedi".  It takes place LONGGGGG before Episode 1 and for the most part, was well written.

I actually stumbled across the Dark Empire while I was buying Marvel comics back when it first came out but had missed one and two.  Since I was a regular customer,  the owner back ordered them for me.  I have been hooked on SW comics ever since  :).  Hope you find that your comic book dealer is as good as the one I have!

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: No Worries for the Red Battle Droid

I hope you're right BB, but will the retailers order the clone war toys?  We assume they will because it can be tied in to something current (the cartoon) and hopefully hold the attention span of kids (for a while anyways).

I just hope the current saga toys start showing up and that somewhere down the line Hasbro doesn't drop the ball and we have a glut of cartoon Anakin's because they can't figure out the case assortment ratio yet!!

2128
I have never gotten these as I handled the Anakin that was out of the box and laying in the "reduced for quick sale" cart at Walmart and the sculpt was aweful and the pose was crappy.  I don't even know his price as the box was laying next to him but I do know it wasn't free and that would be the ONLY way I'd take it home!!

I'm not sure if Hasbro was trying for a larger "epic force" type toy to see how the consumer would react or what but I don't think they sold well, at least not around here.

Well, they're not as cheap as they were when you provided that link but they are on clearance now (and only $1.00 more than the sale).
There are a few other 12" dolls on clearance also, it looks like KB is clearing a lot of stock from the warehouse!! :)
