30th Anniversary Collection / Re: TFU Stormtrooper Commander
« on: September 22, 2008, 02:26 PM »
They are going for $20+ on eBay, although each auction lists it as Rare, or something, even though these about 30 up right now.  That doesn't make it common, just funny to see something described as rare, 30 times in a row.

Feedback / Re: Jeff's (pka Nataku) feedback

I just bought my first group of figures from Jeff, and great transaction!  He shipped the items Saturday and they arrived Monday around noon.  Everything was packed great and the prices and shipping were very reasonable.  Thanks again, I'll be checking your "For Sale" again soon.

I think if they did OT versions of the Battlefront 2 sets as general releases it would cover this pretty well.  Getting a Stormtrooper, Scout Trooper, DSG, Imperial Officer and Darktrooper or a new Rebel Fleet Trooper, new Rebel Sniper, repack Vanguard trooper, new Rebel Smuggler (I've suggested before a German from the Indy Sets could be adapted for this), repaint Tarrful and maybe a bothan.  I see huge army building potential here, and if I'm not mistaken, wasn't Battlefront the best selling game ever, or sometihng like that?  That would seem to be a huge potential market...

I've seen them at a couple Wal-Marts now, but I'm having a hard time biting.  I like the Stormies, I'll put them with the Evo & Jump Troopers, or something, but I'm not sure I have need for another Vader and another Palpy.  I'm not sure I'll be ready to spend $30 for 4 Stormtroopers just yet.

The Legacy Collection / Re: All caught up?

I'd like to get the Saesee Tiin, which is the only one I need from that wave, but I haven't seen any of the repaint figures yet.  I'm skipping the figures from the R7-Z0 wave, just not interested.  I might get the two comic packs with the Mandos, but probably not.  I think I'll save the $ and put it toward some of the Lego kits instead.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 30AC "Battle on Mygeeto" Battle Pack
« on: September 22, 2008, 09:55 AM »
On friday I got delivery of a few figures from this pack, I won on ebay the Marine, the Tri-doird and the new Bacara.  The price wasn't so bad, but the seller advertised a discount on shipping, which was $0.50 off the $3.00 per figure  :(  Of course the outside of the package lists the seller's actual cost for shipping at $2.10  >:(

So I open the box and the way the Tri-Droid was packaged the guns are all mangled  >:(  I think I'll get them to straighten out, but man, this transaction didn't go so great, especially because I was really excited to get this figures.....

The Legacy Collection / Re: Recent Legacy Purchases

I got General Kenobi, the Scuba Trooper and the Cip-Quad trooper over the weekend.  It sure seems that Albany, NY is the only area to not have the repaint wave yet.  I haven't been hunting super hard, but I haven't seen it in any of the stores I've been in (KB, Target and Walmart).

Was at a different WM near my house and they must've had the companion display to the one I saw earlier this week.  This time they did a better job posing the figures, except they had a Seperatist droid manning the gun on an AT-AP.  My Wife didn't think it was as funny as I did, I guess she thinks most people wouldn't notice that..... Pshhh. ;D

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Star Wars Tales
« on: September 19, 2008, 12:15 PM »
I would.  I have all, or almost all of them and they are good reads.  Its a collection of a whole bunch of comic books, so there aren't story lines across the whole volume, but it does introduce you to areas of the EU you might not have come across.  I don't remember who drew them, but the ones that are in the same style as the Tag & Bink comics are some of my favorites, I like how they put little nods to other types of Sci-Fi and pop culture in the background.  I'd recommend getting them.

Plus, now that they've been out a couple years, they are significantly below the MSRP, so there's that going for them too.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: CW Homing Spider Droid
« on: September 17, 2008, 12:43 PM »
Was at the WM near my house last night and they had made a little display under a protective cover with a bunch of star wars toys, never seen that type of thing at a Walmart, Target does it a lot with LEGOs.  Anyway, there was a Chewie and a Vader Mighty Mugg, a couple of the Clone Wars figures and some of the Legacy figures as well (posed at odd angles, i think Han broke both knees, Grevious' body turned at a right angle to the right) and a Clone Trooper was driving the center piece, the Homing Spider Droid.   ???

Not that I expected the old ladys who work at WalMart to be up on star wars, just figured there would be a picture telling them how to set the display up...

My wife and I needed a few things from WM last night and while we were in the store there was an announcement that for the next hour all clearance toys were 50% off.  They had "marked down" a few clean, white pauldron sandtroopers all the way to $6.63, so I got two for what was essentially the regular price for one.  Not bad.

The two I've been to had some of the 30AC, like Maris Brood & the Kashyyyk Trooper still at $12.99 or so, but Biggs, DST and Rebel H Guard were $4.  I also got the C-3PO set of nesting dolls for $5.  I think I saw the Grevious set as well, which I'll try and get, they didn't have any others that I recall.

Yeah, they are $9.96 at 3 of the WM locally.  I only got three of the sets, but if I saw them at clearance prices I'd pick up the others.
