C'mon a 2 year bump and no Paris

No Linds...

Thought I would resurrect this thread as it was one of my favorites for venting...

Here are a few random things that really annoyed me this week / today!

Paper coffee cups that slowly leak... I am looking at an ever expanding puddle of delicious Tim's that will not ever reach my lips...  :(

People who ask for your help or have a question but will not let you finish before they starting rebutting your explanation, or argue with your answer.

People who feel that because they pay the company you work for a monthly fee they can yell and scream at your as much as they want.

People who think by saying "This is unacceptable" that I will suddenly change my mind.

When you accidently bump into someone at the grocery store or whatever and apologize and they don't bother to acknowledge you said anything.

People who ask me at work if I speak French, to which I reply "Oui, un peu" which means "Yes, a little" and they then start talking to me in rapid fire, Quebecois, slang and I don't understand 75% of WTF they are saying.

That's it for now... Thanks I feel a little better.

Go with your own.

Newbies / Been too long...

Hello one and all Defenders...

Some of the old timers may remember me, I used to hang out here a lot back in 2002 - 2003 but work, life, family stuff has taken over my life for the past several years.

Now that my son is getting older, and a big SW fan it has rekindled my interests in collecting again, so I hope to drop in more often.

Nick (my son) and I spent the weekend setting up a few glass display cases of loose figures in the family room, which reminded me how darn hard it was to make those AOTC figs stand-up!

Anyway, that's it.  I don't really have a collecting focus or anything (up here in Canada you take what you can get right?) but I hope to have my new home theatre room filled with as much loose SW stuff I can lay my hands on.  I'm an opener lol!  Love the smell of fresh plastic!

Thanks for reading, hope to chat with you all soon.

The Original Trilogy / EP IV Video Clip...
« on: March 30, 2007, 12:20 PM »
Hey Guys,

Long time no talk...  I could list a bunch of excuses but suffice to say work, and family has been taking up most of my time added to the fact internet axs at work is significantly monitored, and where we live now the fastest I get is 28.8 KBPS!!  Anyway  I hope all my old SW buddies are still around and can help me out...

I am looking for a place to download a specific video clip from ANH.  The clip I want is when Luke is lightsaber training on the Falcon.  I need the part where Luke complains about not being able to fight without being able to see, and Obi-Wan goes on about feeling the force around you...

Anyone know where I can download that?  Or anyone able to rip it form the DVD for me???

The closest I found is this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUjTTKziu_I, put it is a little too late in the movie.

Anyone??  Help me Jedi Defenders.. you are my only hope. ;-)

Scott  :-)

Sorry for the belated reply...

Thanks for the birthday wishes. :-)  I have been training a new tech. at work for the last three weeks.  Having someone glued to your hip 9 hours a day asking you a million questions has seriously cut into my work based web surfing routine.

Sucks!  :)

Oh well its over now and I earn myself a week vacation. Yahoo!!

Thanks again.

If you eat enough beans... anyone can levitate for an instant. ;-)

Though the side effects are smelly.

As for David Blane, his special street majic totally blew me away, and his book was very cool also.

Can you imagine what would have happened if he had stepped in some dog crap instead.

I've been to Toronto, I wanted to shoot everyone also, its not a new feeling. ;-)

Yes they do:

Suspension and Banning: If a member has his posting rights suspended for a period of time, generally for a rule infraction, he will be notified of it and will be told when he may write again asking to be reinstated. If a member is banned from the forum, he will no longer be permitted to participate in the forum again. It is important to note that both suspensions and bans are for the member, not the account, which is further explained below

The bold italics was added by me.

Stupid stuff like this by mods, or forum admins drives me nuts.  I got kicked of the mod team of a GI Joe board (board is down now, big suprise) because I darred to question an admins decision.  Actually I didn't question it, I said OK, but took the time to explain why I did something.  Power trip super egos!

Funny... I like how the intro is spelled "Loding" instead of "Loading"..

Their ISO certification references lamp holders and fittings, but their only product is an ice cream maker.

Hmmm

On a shelf in our company's server room...  Someone took pictures... fortunately they didn't show up in my yearly eval.

They have these nice big shelves, and all kinds of bubble wrap!!

I mean, what a tech. to do?  I also had been there 14 hours, so whatever!

Nothing stolen from my house or anything, but once when I was 15 I bought a laptop computer "from a guy in the back of a truck"... should have known better.

For my $140 I got a nice box with a brick in it...

Oh well, at least I talked him down from $500... live and learn.

« on: May 10, 2004, 04:11 PM »
My first real summer job was at a private golf course.  I was really excited to get hired, as I thought I would be outside all summer, working on my tan, and hiding from work.

Not to be... I got to work in the locker room.  I spent my days shining shoes, and cleaning up after the filthy old men.  My first shift I almost quit after the third hour of having to look at 80 + year old men walking around naked all night!   :-X

They were all rich old bastards, treated up like crap, and their tips were total garbage...

I remember one night I look over and there is this old guy standing there drying off after a shower...  except he has a growth on his side the size of a freaking football!!  And he is toweling it down and powerdering it up!!

YUCK!!!!

Oh the horror!!!!
