The Bullpen / Re: LEGO Makes Theirs Marvel

Yeah I bought the Flying Car set with Spidey, Venom and Nick Fury last summer. Awesome set, and I wish the BTTF Delorian turned out a bit more like the car in that set.

Wal-Mart has had random deals on occasion. Back in April I snagged the Man Bat DC set for $15 on Rollback, normal MSRP being $20. A few weeks later I snagged the Flash set on sale at Target during a sale and ended up saving another $5. I've noticed they do that frequently for sets in that price range, which is why I usually wait for those to go on sale and then snag the bigger sets on LEGO Shop for the easy VIP points.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The "Space" Issue

Space hasn't really been an issue for me until the last several years. I was more of a casual figure buyer up until ROTS came out when I started working, had additional income, etc. I basically had a desk and a dresser to put stuff on (everything was in my room as I lived with my parents) so in 2007 we put up some shelves on two walls in my room. One side hosted LEGO and the other side hosted Hasbro figs. I had plenty of room! Then I started buying Indiana Jones figs, Marvel Universe figs, and 99 percent of the Star Wars offerings and things got out of hand again. I started buying LEGO again after a several year hiatus in 2011, and that's when I completely ran out of room. Since then, my figures have remained boxed and inside of my closet. Most LEGO sets I buy I keep boxed as well, mainly due to a lack of space for them. I even disassembled a lot of older sets and put those in the attic, and still have little room for it all.

One problem I have is I could easily store some stuff since I've been out of my parents' place for a year but my closet is filled with the aforementioned carded figures from the last 3 years, along with several Rubbermaid bins full of old 90s toys (Marvel/DC Animated figs, Power Rangers, WWF, etc.). I've considered getting rid of the old 90s toys but I don't want to deal with selling them online and definitely don't want to just give them away. There's a new store in town that buys vintage toys but I'm assuming they'd only be interested in a handful of items.

I liked the Extremis Port Set... also bought the Malibu Mansion sometime last year but haven't built it yet. I want to get the newer Marvel sets (Cap/Red Skull tank, X-Men vs Sentinel, new Hulk/MODOK set) since they're somewhat based on comic appearances, but I'm going to wait on the next LEGO Shop promo since two of those would put me near or over the usual $75 threshold.

How's the Spider Trike set Pete? I've heard nothing but bad reviews for it (although I might pick it up on clearance just for the Electro)

The Sequel Trilogy / Star Wars Episode VIII

I guess it's already time for a thread for Episode VIII since things are already rolling along for it.

Rian Johnson to write, direct Episode VIII

Ordered this set at the beginning of June and got it in the mail last weekend. Put it together the same day. Fun build, and the model looks a heck of a lot better than the BTTF DeLorean when it's all said and done, and I love the BTTF set too!

There are a few small modifications I want to make but that's the beauty of LEGO!

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: Recent purchases

Got Vizam, Merumeru and Plagueis at a local grocery store. They put out a fresh case of Wave 3 so I snagged the ones I wanted most. I had planned on ordering a case but decided some figures I didn't want at all (Troopers) and others just didn't look as great in person (Mace Windu).

Official Trailer on YouTube

Not much in terms of actual game footage but I assume we'll see more this time next year.

I'm going to do my best to stay spoiler free but keeping free of ALL info? Yeah that's not gonna happen, considering the length of time until the movie comes out, along with visiting this website. Plus it seems like EVERY website has new info whenever it comes out.

It was originally scheduled to come out the week after Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and two weeks before Guardians of the Galaxy, both of which will do huge business. It stood no chance, and probably still won't in February for the reasons Bill gave.

Someone on Reddit attempted to tie all of the X-Men movies together (spoiler alert). Some goofy stuff in there and a lor of flaws are exposed, but still an interesting read.

Wasn't Orci one of the writers of Into Darkness, along with many other terrible, terrible movies that have been released over the last few years but have somehow made millions and millions of dollars? These are the types of people that need to be blacklisted from Hollywood, not directing major blockbusters.

I think they could have achieved the look they wanted if they angled the ball joint a little bit. Really Dagobah Luke only needs to hold his backpack straps and keep his arms straight to do handstands and try to lift his X-Wing. I also get what they were going for here, but I can't really figure out why it looks so bad either. The Marvel figures with these joints look great.

Finally caught DOFP yesterday. Not as good as Captain America: Winter Soldier, but much, much better than Amazing Spidey 2. Maybe a peg below First Class too, but there wasn't much that I disliked about it.

I guess the one question I have is where do they go from here? I know Apocalypse is coming next but is that going to use the First Class cast or the old cast? Because honestly I have no desire to see another movie with the original trilogy cast.

I got the email too and went to see if I left any credit card/paypal info in my account since I've literally only used eBay once, and that was ten years ago to buy some VOTC figures. Will probably stay that way too.

UGH - so I picked up the Jek-14 Mini Stealth Starfighter on an eBay auction that claimed the set was New/Unused/Unopened.

Well - it arrived today and imagine my shock to find the two clear tape circular seals that hold the top of the box onto the bottom were both cut.

Opened up the box to find the mini-figure fully assembled INSIDE the bag and then found that the bag was one of those resealable type bags.

Does anyone else have this set? Is that how the bag was? Did the mini-figure come pre-assembled - most Lego sets have the head, torso, legs, hair/helmet all as separate pieces.

Not to mention the fact that Jek-14's hair-piece is missing. I'm not OVERLY concerned about that since I can always request another one from Lego Customer Service to replace it.

My complaint is that it truly wasn't a new/unopened set with those tape seals cut.

Am I being unreasonable?

Little late, but LEGO polybags are never taped or stapled or anything. It's like buying a bag of chips. Would you buy one that was taped shut? Definitely get your money back Pete.
