LEGO / Re: Recent Acquisitions
« on: February 20, 2013, 01:00 PM »
Got all the Series 2 planets thanks to the TRU BOGO sale, AND found a bunch of Series 3 (Kamino, Coruscant, Asteroid Field), which I didn't know was shipping yet, so I snagged those too.

RE: People being able to headshot zombies

It's the Stormtrooper effect. You have terrible aim when shooting at important or living characters, but random, nameless soldiers (or zombies) are expendable and can be taken out with ease. :P

Oh and cool callback to season 1:

I randomly had Hyde sent to me when I ordered the Minecraft set (threw in a minifig to bump the total price above $35 so I could get the free police chopper). I'm waiting for the "Big 3" to actually put out some series 9 so I can get the Chicken Man!

Decent episode, but couldn't they just watch security tapes and see that Ahsoka wasn't responsible? What if she had stayed in her cell?

She also has the Jedi behind her but I'm guessing Tarkin outranks them since it's a "military matter"

It must be just me but my area has SUCKED for figures. The only waves I've seen that weren't TPM or Deleted Blu-Ray Scenes were the Lost Line wave at TRU, though I did get lucky and find an Evazan and Red Barada before Christmas.

The cheap prices HAVE cleared out Naboo Soldiers and Battle Droids (I was able to snag two Droids but probably would have bought more) yet the Podracers and Daultays remain.

Heh, I was starting to grow an interest in Axel, but of course the Walking Dead Rule went into effect; any character given unusual amounts of talking time bites the dust. I thought it was funny how that one episode Axel is hitting on Hershel's other daughter (never can remember her name) and then last week she says she always wanted a baby. I was waiting for Axel to pop up and go "helloooooooooo" or something, ha. Sucks to be Carol too, she finally appears happy and then BOOM.

Last 10 minutes were awesome, and I totally didn't see it coming. I figured the big assault would be the last 2 episodes or something. I guess the Governor used his infinite ammo cheat? :P

"He's Korean!" Awesome segment with Daryl and Merle. Really pointed out how the younger, "weaker" brother has become the superior.

Reddit says that the same music being played when Rick saw Lori was the same music played in Season 1 when Morgan saw his zombified wife.

Did I miss something as to why Glenn and Maggie are fighting? Feels like they got rescued and all of a sudden hate each other. I guess the writer who gets drunk and always shows up to work late is now writing their storyline now that Lori is "gone"?

And what happened to that other group? I assume they're coming back but they've all but vanished.

From March 1-31, spend at least $50 at Lego Shop at Home and get a free Mini Republic Frigate. Also Free Shipping from March 1-15 and Double VIP Points from March 22 to April 8. I'll probably snag the Rancor Pit then

Just announced today. Looks pretty cool, but for $200 it's a "wait for Christmas" type of gift for myself. :P

This should own, as he will be able to be an old, grumpy d-bag.

Issue 2 of this series is out this Wednesday (February 13) if anyone wants to check it out.

Whoops, I meant to post this in Recent Purchases, but it kinda fits here, heh.

Anyway, yeah, I wouldn't mind having the two but ultimately it came down to "Do I really want these"? The Vulture Droid is cool but it has nobody to fight in the air in my army. And I was never that big a fan of the new Dewback anyway, so I decided I'd rather save the money.

Yeah the one negative about this set is that it's a K-Mart exclusive. Closest K-Mart is 8 hours away. We do have a Sears Grand that stocks K-Mart exclusive toys but I got lucky finding the AT-ST and Ewok sets from last year... they restock the toy section about once a year I think.

The Vintage Collection '10-'13 / Re: Toy R Us Vintage Republic Gunship
« on: February 11, 2013, 11:21 PM »
The price will be the determining factor for a lot of people I think, but unfortunately (like someone mentioned earlier) Gunship prices have SKYROCKETED. I remember the AOTC ones being $30 and saw the ROTS one the weekend the movie came out for the same price, then those just vanished and went for CRAZY prices on the secondary market. Hasbro noticed and upped the price on the next few releases. Wasn't there an animated Clone Wars version that retailed for like $75 or something crazy?

Sad thing is I could easily see this one hitting $100 due to the "added value" of the orb turrets and the crappy figures.

89
I snagged two Battle Droids at Target for $5 each.

Also at some point over the weekend I wound up at Wal-Mart and bought the Dewback and Vulture Droid on sale. I awoke the next morning sober and immediately regretted the decision, so I returned them today. :P
