I love the look of the tie fighter! Much better than the blue and black version that I have.

Well that makes me happy that my form should be honored! Glad I got mine sent in before the changes!

So I printed off the redemption form before they put up that new restriction of having to get the form with a figure. This was a week an a half ago now.  I filled it out and mailed it immediately. So do we know if they will still honor that or am I going to get it returned to me.  Anybody know for sure or is it just a wait and see thing?

Just finished reading Vortex and I am enjoying this series so far (which isn't too hard for me since I enjoy most everything SW that I read).  I do think LOTF and the NJO were better series and I am re-reading LOTF now since there is so much time between these FOTJ books

The Legacy Collection / Re: EE Exclusive Comic Packs
« on: July 1, 2010, 04:37 PM »
This is exciting! I just removed these from my wish list and was sad that we wouldn't get them. I wish though that they would come to retail so that I wouldn't have to pay shipping on them on top of the higher price they will be at EE.

I picked up all 10 yesterday at my TRU in Orem, UT and it was made all the better because of the buy one get one 50% off sale!   I ended up taking back Darth Vader, Bespin Luke, and C3PO since those exact same cards were done in previous vintage waves.  I already mailed off my redemption form for the Boba Fett and was glad that the requirements didn't make me take off a corner of these new packages. I just used UPCs that qualified from other past figures that I could take them off of.

Mine showed up yesterday and I was so excited.  As you can tell from my avatar I love Mon Calamari so a Jedi one made me super excited.  I also have a display shelf of characters with lightsabers but now I can't decide if I want to open this one or not.  :-\

Joe Defender / Re: G.I. Joe Toys Thread
« on: March 15, 2010, 09:02 PM »
I went to my Ross store today after seeing the post onthe front page.  I have wanted the Cobra set of the Cobra Island packs since they first showed pics of them but I don't care about the Joe set and everywhere of course only sells them together.  So  I get there and looked and looked and I found one Cobra set at the end of an aisle on the top shelf face down with a Joe set behind it!  So I got my oh so desired Cobra set for a great deal!  Thanks jedidefender!

For my birthday last month my brother in law gave me his old original Matt Trakker and Thunderhawk which are in great condition!  He did let my nephew have it for a while but I convinced him that it would be in much better hands and live much longer if it somehow would end up in my possession. Good to know he was listening!

Not having to worry about the sell outs is the only upside to having my subscription because it has caused me numerous headaches! I am fretting though that when they do Keldor as the bonus figure in a few months that it is going to be a hot one and I am afraid that one might cause me some issues.

LEGO / Re: LEGO 2010

Was it really worth the $50-$60 price for 300 bricks  ???  I love the Defender, but not at that price for so few bricks.  Why not wait for a sale?  I don't think I've ever paid full price for any of my LEGO sets.

I don't think I have ever felt any lego set was worth full retail, but I have resigned myself to that fact so I only buy selected sets that I really want. There are some sets that I will only buy if they go on sale but if I really want it I just buy it knowing legos are expensive no matter what.  Price never correlates to how many pieces you get and SW sets are just more because they are SW and then you have the limited or special edition sets that are more expensive too. . . . .and lego sales are just few and far between so if I paid too much . . . oh well. . . .I will live! :-\

Jocasta's Reading Room / Star Wars Crosscurrent-thoughts and opinions
« on: February 8, 2010, 09:20 PM »
So I finished Corsscurrent last week and thought that it was a great story despite not having "main characters" in it.  It used of course Jaden Korr originally from the game (I am not a big gamer so don't remember which one), it uses lots of information from the Tales of the Jedi comic books, and other EU novel characters from books like Outbound Flight.  I love it when you have aspects from so many different parts of the EU put together like that, its one of the things I like best about reading SW books.  I don't even mind the occasional continuity issues as long as the stories keep coming!

I love that new Hoth Wampa Cave set.  As Legos are so expensive I limit what I buy, but I will definitely be picking up that set. I picked up the TIE Defender last Friday and it is great.  I love how the solar panels spin around the cockpit.  If I had got the set with the TIE D fighter I would have all the Lego TIE incarnations.  I get a little frustrated with all the redos of the same sets like Slave 1. I think the last one they made which I have was the best but now they make an even cooler one, but I can't bring myself to buy it again.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: JD Book Club: What Are You Reading Now?
« on: December 10, 2009, 06:58 PM »
I've just finished World War Z and am now reading the Zombie Survival guideby Max Brooks (who is Mel Brooks' son).  I love zombie stuff and if you do these are a must.  I heard that they are making World War Z into a movie although I think it would lend better to being like an HBO miniseries.
