The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Clone Wars Wave 24 (2011 Fall Wave 2)

I know that there are a lotta folks who are fine with the Stealth Ops Trooper being an exclusive, but, to me, I just don't see it... it's very dull as an exclusive IMO.

I would love George Lucas for forever plus more if he made movies based off the Star Wars 'Legacy' comics, probably Dark Horse's finest Star Wars storyline to date, set 150 years after ROTJ...

Please, Mr. Lucas, PLEASE!! ;D

Did the novel (or comic, if there was one) ever definitively answer the question of whether or not you're a clone in the second game?

No, it didn't. If anything the comic book went off on a tangent - Boba (keep in mind the comic is from his POV) finds out that the mad scientist who is creating clones of Starkiller is also creating clones of Boba. So, clones of a clone, if that makes any sense.

I think the people who wrote the comic gave up on trying to figure out whether Starkiller was a clone or not, too. ::)

TV-9D9 / Re: The Clone Wars - Season Four Discussion Thread

Season 4, OTOH, seems dark and forboding.  I gather that some of the darker settings are the Umbara storyline.

I had read in the latest Star Wars 'Insider' that Filoni considered the Umbara storyline much darker because clones will actually be shooting at real people - not droids. Not something over the top, but for kids it does make a big difference.

I would say what got me excited the most from this new trailer was Ventress & Nightsisters vs. Grievous. OH. YEAH.

Where's Savage Opress? >:D

I'd have a difficult time seeing Star Wars die off as a line too, but it could happen eventually.  Either that, or it could go to an online, collector-only type thing.  Hasbro has sounded resistant to that in past Q and A's I think, but a property like Star Wars could probably really thrive like that (again, in the event that it couldn't make it at retail).  Like it was mentioned, I would think we'd see a pretty good run through the 3D movies at least (which is near the end of the license, as of now), and beyond that we'll have to see.

I used to think that Hasbro would renew the license once it's expired, but I doubt it very much now. Too many problems in general - Hasbro v. Collectors, heavy distribution problems, rising costs, loss in interest... I mean, the list really does go on. If the TCW tv show goes past the expiration date, I could see Hasbro renewing it only as long as the show goes on.

Per Hasbro, Mother Talzin is "in the parking lot"...

 :-\

Well, it's a hecka a lot better than where Jocasta Nu is on their plans... ::)

As of recently: Hasbro Q/A's.

Mostly because of you, Hasbro. >:(

Discover the Force / Movie Heroes / Re: Vintage Walmart Wave

From JediNews:

Quote
Q. The San Diego Comic Con Panel revealed a new wave of Episode I figures that will be exclusive to Walmart.  There seems to be some confusion as to how these figures will be packaged (The Vintage Collection or on Darth Maul like cards) and also if these will be available in the UK - please could you clarify?

A. The Vintage Wave 1 of 2012 revealed in San Diego will not be exclusive to Walmart.  These figures (Darth Maul, Daultay, Quinlan Vos, etc.) will be available in [the]mainline in Vintage packaging.  They should be available in the UK.

Note that Hasbro's crack team of QNA monkeys totally missed the point (again). JN asked about the packaging for the exclusive walmart wave not the first wave of Vintage.

Hasbro must be deliberately doing this, they've been getting annoyingly lazy with the last few Q/A's; their answers are usually only a sentence long now! ::)

The most iconic Character of the PT is still more "Fanfic" the most obscure 2 frames of time OT Character for me, so I agree.

But Sadly that Fanfic was written by George Lucas so he wins....

It's amazing how amazing some parts of Star Wars are... and then how crappy the other parts are. :'( It's really mixed up my reception to Star Wars as a whole, but don't get me wrong, I'm still an appreciative fan.

I noticed on Scum's round-up report that someone asked Hasbro whether this wave will be vintage-carded or carded on the new packaging design, but I couldn't load the answer. Does anyone know what Hasbro replied?

I haven't seen the new packs at all after numerous visits. I'm judging by the tons of original sets left that my Target just gave up on them, altogether.

Wow, with all the quality updates we've gotten in TVC, I'm surprised Qui-Gon STILL hasn't gotten his flared lightsaber. Well I guess it is vintage, after all.

162
Yep, he's VC61  ::)

Wasn't either the single-packaged Salacious Crumb or Mouse Droid already listed with this number? Go figure.

Walked in to Target today and for the first time since November I found newly-stocked TVC pegs - with the repaint wave (by the condition of the cards, it looks like they'd been in the stockrooms since January)! :-[ So if I'm lucky, and we're in August, another 6 months till I see Wave 7 on shelves? :D

Considering this Starkiller is actually a clone, don't you think it sucks for the "real" Starkiller that a clone got his girlfriend? He probably turns up as a Force Ghost to haunt clone Starkiller for the rest of his life.

Dang, I really thought Phobos would turn out as the cooler figure from this pack, but she's probably the worst! - the detail on her lightsaber is stunning though. Almost looks like real metal.

One reason to pick up the figure were it single-carded. ;)
