I agree with you on the second part. It's starting to get old, seeing all these key bounty hunters escape all the time.

Holy. Freakin'. Damn.

I've always hated the theory of zombies running around in other sci-fi/fantasy stories, but boy, is it appropriate here, on Dathomir. Star Wars rocks zombies, big time.

I've always loved the character of Asajj Ventress and I really haven't liked how this series has portrayed her, but damn, you just feel for here. She's been betrayed by Dooku. Her life is ruined, so she goes home to live with her "family" - and even that is ruined for her when Talzin abandons her. I especially loved that last scene, where Asajj tries reaching for Talzin, who just disappears. And you feel for her because the Dathomir landscape is just so hopeless, there's nothing out there for her.

I have no words to describe how dismally horrible those sculpts are.

The Bespin pack... I have no words to describe those sculpts. Trash.

The Naboo pack... slightly more appealing only because of character choice. What in the hell is up with the hip articulation?

To think Hasbro actually said they were proud of the sculpts featured in these sets.

I'm actually surprised by how well Witwer's performance is, I initially rolled my eyes when I heard he was going to voice Maul. The direction they're going with for Maul's character makes sense in light of everything he's been through for the last decade or so.

Just out of curiosity, where did you hear that the animated figure is coming with the broken lightsaber? I don't recall that news coming out of ToyFair, but it seems plausible enough.

I'm sorry, I just realized my wording was off - I mean that the animated model for Maul to be used in the TCW episodes has a sliced lightsaber. Being that the figure is going to be based on his appearance in the show, it's likely that the actual action figure will only have one lightsaber, too. But who knows.

I would attach an image of Maul from the TCW episode, but I don't know how to attach images here. A simple "Darth Maul returns" look-up on Google will show images of him with only one lightsaber.

The old cartoon was a hit: none of that political trash; each episode was 5-12 minutes of pure, sweet action that hooked the viewer. This new series is totally wrecking EVERYTHING. At this point I've just come to pick and choose what I think is canon and what isn't.

As crappy as this show can be, it has created hundreds of awesome Hasbro figures. Hasbro was just beginning to get collectors warmed up to the TCW line. I don't think we'll ever really see it revive. The line's being put on the backburner for the next 6 years, and I certainly don't think the show will last that long. What happens after the show ends is up in the air, but, like we've seen with the films, Hasbro can potentially find stuff to make even once the show has had its run.

At this point in the game, with these being 100% repacks and prices ridiculous, I've really grown to not care about these anymore. They're a really cool and creative idea, I won't lie, but we've seen way better offerings from Hasbro lately.

I'm just starting to warm up to the Maul packaging. I can't really say that Yoda is too representative of AOTC, but it's whatever at this point, I guess. All said and done.

Here's my take on what's coming next...

ROTS - "Sith eyes" hooded Anakin
ANH - Darth Vader
ESB - Boba Fett
ROTJ - Jedi Luke

Wait - so these packs will have *NEW* figure sculpts? Am I reading that right?

I don't get it, we just got an all-new Maul sculpt in TVC. This is really weird. To top it off, I just read somewhere that Hasbro even said that these new sculpts are very good ones.

I guess time will tell. But it sucks that Hasbro didn't send the TF12 powerpoints.

Yup, I live in the Bay Area, California. The only retailers in my city are two Target stores. There used to be a TRU close by, but that closed down in 2005, right after the ROTS line finished its run. I have to travel an hour or so (and cross a bridge) to get to the nearest Walmart, and the nearest TRU is probably a good hour and a half away.

I agree another 5 years for the show is probably overly optimistic, but I can see it going another 2 seasons easily, and that will make 100 episodes, which is the magic number for *ding ding ding* syndication.  ;D

Back when the show was first being developed, there were reports floating around that Lucas said, regardless of ratings, the show would have at least 100 episodes. You said it would take another 2 seasons before they reached 100 episodes, so I can honestly see that happening.

They did that already in the SDCC exclusive

True - I own that figure, but the Maul model to be used in the upcoming episodes is significantly different from the action figure. The animated version has shorter horns and the original Ep.I sliced-in-half lightsaber. They could make that figure a general release compared to the SDCC limited release. It would undoubtedly sell.
