Just a big old let down in my book. Seriously, none of those dopes got eaten? Ruben Blades was about the most interesting character outside of Strand but I guess he won't be back? Meh.

It's like zombies are just an afterthought on this show. No real sense of imminent danger there like we see on TWD.

And back in August already? That seems too soon...

It was a challenge to sit through 90 minutes of I don't know WTF is going on here, but Preacher looks potentially promising. I worry about shows that generate so many questions right off the bat but hopefully they get to it all in time.

I literally cannot understand a single word out of the Irish guy's mouth either. I'm gonna have to watch the re-airing with subtitles...

What happened at Marvel?

That finale was intense.  Guessing right until the end on who bites it (I figured it out when SPOILERS Lincoln grabbed Daisy and they didn't show her necklace again  /SPOILERS).  I thought when Mac hugged Daisy, that was probably the most powerful moment of the entire series.

I'm also totally confused by the epilogues.  Daisy becomes Robin Hood - that's easy enough.  But the rest of the threads - total mystery.

I'm worried we'll still see Ward again.  There's the matter of that Kree artifact he dug up - the "only thing" that can destroy him.  That seems like a pretty major plot point to just leave out there hanging.  I don't think we were ever told what happened to it.

I thought about that too, but came up with a good explanation. That Kree artifact was actually built into the warhead and was part of the activation system through which the terrigen gas or whatever would be dispersed. IE: the technology was a necessary component to facilitate the re-creation of the experiment that created HIVE. So it did end up killing him really.

I thought the close up reveal of Hive's true face with the Coulson hologram was awesome too. I'm sure it wasn't cheap to pull off.

The spin-off with Bobby and Hunter was axed? Damn. They need to get them back on the regular show now. I miss those two. Not too sad about Agent Carter, it ended at a good place and had become something of an effort to watch anyway, IMHO.

Last night's finale was good. They did a nice job keeping you guessing who was going to buy it right up until the end. I was very nervous whenever FitzSimmons were on screen. (Would have been nice to see a 6 months later cutaway to them in the Seychelles at the end there, but whateves)

The death itself was sort of meh to me, but I guess they are going to use it to jack up Daisy's character for awhile now.

I didn't fully grasp either ending. Coulson is an agent now and no longer the Director? Who's the Director? Hoping this is just a temporary thing until they hunt down Daisy. And maybe they should have had the fast chick follow her? Just sayin...

I figured they would bring the Mad Scientist dude into the fold, but WTF was that at the very end? Did we just see Jocasta? Or something else???

Interesting choice...pretty obscure character selection. Was hoping the Tudyk-droid would be the SDCC exclusive, but this is ok too I guess.

Tormund giving Brienne the eye was hilarious.  :D

So what was the secret the High Sparrow told Tommen that he went right ahead and told Cersei? I'm guessing it was something to the effect of "don't try anything with Margaery or I'll paint the streets red with her blood".

That's the only end game I really see for Cersei there, provoking the Faith Militant into killing the Queen. It's not like she is going to somehow kill the whole Tyrell army off once they are in the city. That would be stupid anyway since they need them right now. I would be disappointed if the Queen of Thorns got outsmarted by Cersei though. She's too sharp for that.

The Dothraki stuff was all kinds of awesome especially since it managed to redeem a storyline that had grown tiresome already. If only they could do likewise with the stuff in Mereen. Everyone seems to agree Tyrion is being a jackass with his 7 year plan, and I can't disagree. He's just going to end up pissing everyone off. Even more.

John and Sansa was a nice consolation prize for Stark fans. Sad to see John leaving LongClaw behind though. :(

Yay, Littlefinger sighting. Is he really serious about sending the knights of the Vale north though? I can never believe anything that comes out of that dude's mouth.

RIP Osha/Tonks.  :'(

No $10 figures at any of the Ross' here... :(

You know, I kept thinking the same thing - that the Inhuman who touched her only had the power to show people their own deaths, but I guess that wouldn't explain her first vision?

I think it would be a real slap to the fans to make it FitzSimmons after all they have been through. Hoping those two are safe.

I could see it being Mack, but since he is not an original team member, not sure if that would be considered enough bang for the buck. Logically I think Lincoln makes sense, some kind of grandiose gesture to save Daisy at the last second or something. But again, not a major character.

Pretty sure Coulson is safe, so that leaves May (mei?) that's where I would lay my money down. Her husband just died, she doesn't have a lot else going on lately except wanting to kill Ward, which would be a good way for her to go out, snuffing him once and for all. Plus she is the biggest name actor on the show and probably has plenty of other options if she wants to leave. And she's an original team member whose loss would leave a big juicy dramatic hole.  :D

All I keep wondering is "man, the human race is about to be destroyed and no one thinks the Avengers could be of any help?!?" Even Arrow Guy? Lol...

Fair enough, but I think we are in uncharted waters here. One of two things is happening:

This season the show is spoiling a ton of stuff from the next book(s); OR

The show is diverging into some kind of alternate universe Thrones which differs significantly from the literary version.

Given all the changes we have seen to this point, I'm leaning towards #2. Point being, I'm not sure they are using it as a roadmap anymore and have the freedom to organically change things that maybe serve the Tv storylines differently from those in the book.

Or not. Writers are crazy!   :D

I understand totally, they have to wear that albatross until they rip it off themselves. And Ovi certainly has to shoulder part of that blame as the face of the franchise. That said, I don't feel like he was a glaring no-show this series by any stretch. Did he do enough? Did he really lift the play of his teammates the way great players are expected to? Those are for sure legitimate questions...

Rob - football is a whole other animal, not a good comparison IMO because they don't do best of playoff series, plus they play do few games. Baseball or basketball are more what I'm thinking. Your point about the schedule is 100% valid. In the Overseas soccer leagues everyone plays everyone else the exact same # of times so that negates the concern, but that's a lot harder with leagues that have more teams I realize.

Anyway, just a passing thought, it's neither here nor there in the end. On to next year...

That's a TV theory because the actors playing J and M look like they could be related.  They look nothing alike in the books, I'd be shocked if it were true.  I wholeheartedly agree with R+L=J though and it's practically confirmed now.

IMO, it's more than just the strong resemblance between the two actors. It's no coincidence that Howland Reed is the only other one besides Ned to survive the battle at the Tower of Joy. That puts him right there in position to help. And we know twins run in the Targaryen bloodline. And her character is about the right age and seems to be waiting in the wings for something to happen, always just offscreen but seemingly important.

Definitely could be wrong but seems pretty plausible to me.

I wish someone would explain to the Capitals that the postseason is when you want to play good hockey. The Stanley Cup is the big trophy not the President's Trophy.

Well, let's face it, the playoffs in most any sport are a straight up cash grab. Championships should be about recognizing the best team overall, not the hottest team, or the luckiest team. And the best team in most sports is the team that finishes the regular season #1. It's a much harder grind to excel over 100+ games than 7.

Hockey is a weird game. I would venture a guess that it is much rarer for the best regular season team to win the postseason trophy than it is in any other sport. I guess that makes it exciting and unpredictable too though.

Sad day in the DMV.  :'(

Just like Arya's, my list of people I want to see die is getting shorter too. Suck it, Ollie, you little sociopath. And double-suck it, Ser Allister. The world is better off without both of you.  ;D

Agree the stuff with Dany and Mereen really makes the whole story drag noticeably. Would be happy to skip anything outside of Westeros for a few episodes.

The Tower of Joy stuff should be good when they get more into it. Still thinking R + L = J & M but we'll see.

Did Rickon crawl out of a time warp? He looked about 10 years older. Sucks that he's in the clutches of the Boltons now. I assume we'll be treated to another gory end because Martin sure enjoys killing Starks. Please just make it quick and spare us eight episodes of torture-porn with Ramsey...
