The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Clone Wars Figure Rumors/Speculation
« on: February 7, 2011, 09:39 AM »
Some more rumor re-hash from JTA:

•Saesee Tiin
•Savage Opress
•Plo Koon (Deluxe Repack/Repaint)
•Kit Fisto (Cold Weather Gear)
•Seripas (Bounty Hunter)
•Stealth Clone Trooper
•Captain Rex (With Jet Pack)

Pretty much all of these have been previously reported, although we got a few more details on Plo and Kit. I think that makes the third figure for each of those guys in this line. Wish they would focus on getting figures made of ALL the major characters before double and triple dipping like this, but whateves.

NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RIP, Tura Satana - a true original. When they made her, they broke the mold. Star of one of the greatest B-movies in American cinematic history.

For you Star Wars nerds, Varla's epic admonition "I never try anything. I just do it." predates Nike and Yoda by at least a decade.  ;D

I agree completely Doc, the SL line is just a useless anachronism now. I can't imagine anyone would shed tears over its extinction.

Sam "Starkiller" Witwer was the voice of The Son?

I did not know that. Will be curious to listen more closely tonight.

I don't want to see any animated figures in that crap line. They already carry forward too many old TCW figures in the new animated case assortments. I don't think anyone is in a hurry to see more Space Helmet Anakins clogging the pegs.

That makes no sense. The Sandtrooper data was based on the actual cardback photos and numbering. I know those aren't always 100% accurate, like with the Cad Bane in Clone disguise figure, but it would still seem pretty solid. Hasbro must really be doing a lot of last minute shuffling with that line right now.

If true though, it's still a strong wave and Barriss should be outstanding.

Nice score!  How much are they charging for him?

I paid $8.99...I figure it's probably more or less the same around the country. I'm glad I passed picking this up loose on eBay now.

Ruh-roh!

http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/02/01/nbc-reduces-cape-order/?hpt=Sbin

Bad news for CAPE fans...NBC reduced its initial order from 13 to 10 episodes, on the heels of its worst ratings yet.

Next to the dreaded "vote of confidence" by ownership this is the closest thing to a Kiss of Death.

I'll miss it a little. But if it helps bring back The Event sooner, that will ease the pain.

Summer Glau's TV track record remains intact.

I was pretty moved by Charlie's death but Claire 2 minutes after it happened didn't seem to be...bad acting and/or plotting on that one

That always bugged me, too. She got/gets over it way too quickly.

She was already coming down with The Sickness at that point, you just didn't know it yet. I give her a pass for being so smoking hot.  ;D

A pleasant surprise to see Dutch from The Shield turn up in a recurring guest role on V last night. He's a fine actor but without exception always plays a weaseley ******bag character. (Shield, Sons of Anarchy, CSI, you name it)

Always a plus to see that dude from The Mummy too...he is the mark of quality.

The more I watch this show the less I like it.  With Qui Gonn showing up as a ghost here it completely ruins the end of ROTS.  Why was Obi-Wan surprised to hear Qui Gonn is able to communicate with the living when he's already talked with him?!

For that matter, why is Qui Gonn asking questions about how Anakin was trained?  We're supposed to believe he's been watching all along since he tried to stop him from killing the Sandpeople in AOTC.

1) Because his experience on Mortis was so far outside the realm of human experience that Obi-Wan probably suspected it was a dream, or an apparition, or manifestation of his subconscious. We don't really even know yet if that really WAS Qui-Gonn. We know the Son was impersonating Shmi, and it's a safe assumption that the Daughter was impersonating future-Ahsoka. Maybe the Qui-Gonn vision was the work of the Father, trying to glean more clues about the path of the Chosen One.

2) As far as the line of questions, again, not sure that was really Qui-Gonn. It could have been the Father or possibly even one of the siblings trying to find out more information about Anakin. Or maybe it WAS Qui-Gonn, and he just wanted to hear Obi-Wan's assessment of the training to this point. Or more to the point, he wanted to hear his "point of view" because so many of the truths we cling to depend on our POV, yadda yadda yadda.

I really think the brilliance of an episode like this is that it does lend itself to interpretation and allows enough wiggle room to satisfactorily explain away most of the weirder elements. (Like where is the sunlight coming from?) I also think it opens up some really interesting questions about the Force itself, and the fact that the Sith and Jedi are just practitioners, and not really the end all be all of the various paths.

In an incredible stroke of good fortune, I found the elusive Clone Captain Lock tonight at the ghetto K-Mart across town. They had about 10 on the pegs, so I had my choice of the mintiest cards. I went ahead and snagged two so I am good to go.  ;D

And then there was one...Jesse!!!

I have zero desire for that offering, but if I see one, I can pick it up for you if you want.

Thanks, if you could just post here if/when you run across it, that would be awesome. I still prefer to hunt that sucker down myself if I can, but it may not be possible.

Appreciated!

Starting to have a bad feeling about BARC w/Jesse. I think this may turn out to be REALLY difficult to find. Apparently he is only part of Wave 4, and is not being carried forward with either of the subsequent revision waves (1 or 2) Because why would you want to make more of the one new thing, whe you can make more of the 3 or 4 things that have already been out for six months?  ::)

I saw Wave 4 Revision 2 over the weekend at Target (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HS94737D1) because they had the 2 promo stickers for the online game or whatever, and the original versions did not.

So it appears they just skipped over the original Wave 4 entirely. Outside of the inital sighting on 1/14, I have not heard a single instance of this being found at retail.

It's never been on HTS or SWS and only showed up at BBTS for a few days before selling out and has never been re-stocked. That's pretty weak.
