Yeah, solid, if forgettable. It felt pretty satisying until they showed the scenes from next week where Shane is right back to his old tricks. So really, they just wasted a whole hour and accomplished nothing.

Where were Herschel, Glenn, Jimmy, etc?

It was funny to hear Lori and Andrea get after each other, because they were both sort of right and wrong at the same time. I still do not understand why Andrea is even sticking around anymore. She doesn't like any of them, doesn't need them, and finally seems to understand she is not going to win Shane away from Lori. What's keeping her there? Everyone pretty much hates her now, and rightfully so.

The dopey kid storyline has already gone on too long, they should have killed him last episode and been done with it. I worry the longer they keep him alive the more likely it is we are going to see those other low-lifes back again and I really want them to drop that crap and get the hell off the farm again.

What was the significance of the lone walker in the field Shane kept staring at out the window? Obtuse symbolism like this gets lost on me.

Just...HOLY ****!

I think that my have been my all-time favorite episode. Seriously.

No Anakin, no Obi-Wan, no Ahsoka, no Padme, no Clones, Senators, no need. Just pure freaking awesomeness from start to finish. I swear to God, that was better than like 95% of the entire PT stuff.

It just worked on so many levels, to actually be able to produce such a compelling, emotionally intense experience through an animated medium is simply awesome. I mean, for the first time ever, I actually felt a real sense of dread and danger from a droid assault. 99% of the time those guys just come off like such clowns it's hard to really imagine them as a credible enemy. But the whole element of overwhelming force and technology and sheer brute force was really on display, which I guess is their real strength.

They actually got you to feel something for a previously loathsome character like Ventress, they've really added depth to her in a way I never could have predicted.

The whole atmosphere was just great, I love the Dathomiri landscape, the undead army was freaking cool as hell, even if a little Return of the Kingy, Asajj whooping Greivous' ass, Dooku getting worked over like a rented mule...everything just seemed more intense in this episode.

Five stars, baby. Can't wait for the last three episodes.

And I officially will never be completely happy again until we have Nightsisters in animated figure form.  :)

Could these be hitting eventually in the Maul-type packaging? While I would have preferred they show up on the SOTDS packaging, but I'd be okay with them on the 2012 packaging just to have them...

I think it's possible, but depends a lot on whether any of these were actually produced for Walmart in the SOTDS packaging or not. I think that is still a big unanswered question at this point.

The other problem is that the DVD's themselves are sort of redundant because those episodes are so old now and have long been available in the season set.

I'm thinking these would probably make for a good potential battlepack down the road though, just leave out either Ahsoka or Obi-Wan. I'd buy 'em again, no doubt.

Saw a bunch of boxes of Avengers toys on a pallet at Walmart last night, but I had no inclination to even try opening them. Wake me when the Skrulls start to ship...

FX has a good business model for their shows, modest ratings + short seasons = frequent renewals.

How many years has Always Sunny been running? Sometimes I literally feel like I am the only person still watching that show.

Archer has been solid this year, still want to see them ice Cyborg Barry though.

Regular aisle for me.

Thanks, I saw some tonight, same deal. They had a Bom, Keyan, couple of Black Endor Rebels, etc. Decided to pass, but may hit them again at a later date.

I also saw an old TCW Deluxe set of Count Dooku and Speeder Bike in the red/white packaging, still on the shelf at full price for $16.97. WTF?

The $4 Vintage figs at Walmart - are they in the clearance section or the regular SW aisle?

Got these both today in the mail...very nice additions to the MOC collection.

Interesting that Gearshift is only referred to as "Clone Trooper". I figured he would at least be identified on the cardback but nope, just plain old clone trooper.

FWIW, the brain worms in the other set with Scythe are unique sculpts compared to the ones that came with Barriss. Very well done.

How did a website I've never heard of before get the scoop on new SW swag?

I can't believe someone from 'Scum didn't break this first, dudes must be napping over there.

It's probably going to be weeks before we see these on the East Coast. That second wave of Deluxe sets was supposedly spotted at Target too, but no signs here at all. Everyone is still buried in those cruddy Wave 1 sets.

Bonus find at lunch...the last SOTDS figure at any Target in the metro area: believe it or not, Hevy!

Well worth the $2.38.

They had a SOTDS AAT too, but the box had been opened and I wasn't sure I wanted to risk it. Maybe later this week if I get bored. I've bought pretty much everything else at this point.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: The Future of the Clone Wars Toy Line?
« on: February 20, 2012, 02:41 PM »
Yes, many fans of this line feel strongly that animated characters should be sculpted in an animated style to better reflect their actual appearance on the show.

I understand this may not appeal to all collectors but I don't see why it has to be an all or nothing proposition. They're putting some characters out in realistic form which should make some collectors happy. I think that step should appease some collectors who have yet to warm up to the animated line for whatever reason, but that's not any justification for just killing the animated line outright.

Until somebody proves me wrong with hard data, I maintain that for every collector who wants these animated figures in a realistic style, there is an equal and opposite collector who currently buys the animated style and would NOT be interested in buying these figures in a realistic style.

Just keep up both lines and everyone is happy.  :)

What was really new about these?  The Clones?  In the grand scheme of things those aren't a tremendous loss, but I think we may see those some time this year.  It's been said before and it bears repeating:  If Hasbro has shown a product publically, then more than likely it's going to make it's way to market.  They've shown a committment to doing that time and again, even if it take a while.

The Clones in each set were new, yes: Gearshift and Scythe. You also get some cool molded brain worms too.

I'm not so sure this will ever see a mass release here in the States. Hasbro has already stated that stores are not carrying forward any SOTDS merchandise, which is how both of these sets were to be packaged domestically.

As far as them showing these publically, well, they have made their way to market - overseas and in Canada. we're just not likely to get them here I think. Hasbro may repackage the clones somewhere down the line in a BP or something like that, but I don't think we're likely to see that this year, if ever.

I do hope I'm wrong though, I would much prefer to have the SOTDS packaged version with the DVD included. I just don't feel great about the prospects right now.

Good to see Zombies make their return to this show. I liked the first half of the episode which seemed more adrenalin-packed.

I have to sympathize with Shane's remark about having to sit back and just watch things go to hell...that's pretty much where I am coming out at this point in the season. You can just see things are going to end badly for everyone.

There is just too much drama with that bunch now, they need to hurry up and split into two camps like we all know is coming and just get it over with. I guess something is going to have to happen to Lori's baby first though since Shane apparently isn't going to let that go.

I don't get Rick bringing the kid back either...I thought he had seen the light after The Barn. OF COURSE that is going to come back to bite you in the ass. They should have left that kid as walker bait, he almost got them all killed.

I'm already getting tired of the Glenn/Maggie thing's like they invent a new reason every week to squabble about something.

I worry Dale has outlived his usefulness on the show...I really like him but he's become kind of a one-note character this season. Everyone else seems to be growing and he just seems kind of stuck.

Another Cad Bane's Escape BP for $5.98, plus a Naboo Skiff Deluxe set for $5.08. I've pretty much cleaned out all the nearby Targets...time to hit the stix.

I had to do a Google search to figure out who you guys were talking about...I always assumed Ray Parks did his own voicework.

Turns out it's the dude who was the roommate in Shaun of the Dead. He has one of my favorite lines from the whole movie "Sort your life out, mate!"
