The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Recent Clone Wars Finds/Purchases

Best day of scores in a long time, and I only had to hit 7 Targets, 4 Walmarts, 2 TRU's and a K-Mart.  ;D

I found the new wave of deluxe TCW vehicles at multiple Targets, and in addition to scoring the 2 I had snagged earlier at TRU (for return purposes), I was able to secure the AT-RT with Boil set. MAN, this is my favorite so far I think. Just love the deco.

Also scored the Battle of Orto Plutonia Battlepack at TRU, another welcome surprise.

Sadly, zero sightings of the Embo wave. That sucks, especially after running into the new Vintage wave multiple times out there. Still, a very good day all in all.

I found one this morning at TRU...all re-pack swag, but I really like the diorama. Anyway, I had to get it regardless as a completist freak.

I read this is out now at TRU...anyone spot one in the wild yet?

Sorry, to clarify, I think it's going to just be 4 repacked figures, similar to the ones K-Mart has had as exclusives in the past. It doesn't sound like there are any cool accessories or pack-ins, but maybe something will be new. I hope anyway.

Looks like they are also going to re-release the Jedi Showdown and Rishi Moon BP's. Ugh, they are doing a lot of recycling with the BP's this year.

Hmmm, smells like one of those crappy K-Mart exclusive BP's...4 repacks of figures already out on individual cards.

Will be interested to hear confirmation about this though.

Saw Overkill last night with Forbidden, pretty crushing. The boys can still bring it.

Just saw this was already picked up for a second season, which is surprising and great. I figured it would just be a one-and-done miniseries.

Mikey - I've been trying to catch up with the comic storylines - have you read them all?

I have questions but I guess I can't post them without providing inadvertant spoilers.

I just like that it's an actual sequel and not a "re-imagining" AKA rip-off.

And it's ALWAYS good to see Bruce "The ORIGINAL StarKiller" Beefcakener getting some work again. (That's a B5 reference for those of you unfamiliar with the best sci-fi series ever on TV :) )

Very cool, but I'm not driving all the way to D.C. just for a 10 minute sneak peek, or whatever it likely will be.

Hope they tread carefully with any backstory, sometimes it's cooler the LESS you know about a character. (ahem, Boba Fett)

Christ, they have mid-size vehicles listed for $31.99!  :o

That is just ridiculously over-priced, makes TRU look cheap in comparison.

Think I'll pass on the $95 case assortments of figures too.

Mind giving us the store?

I think he said in another thread that it was a Target.

Really stoked to find this wave sometime soon. Going to be a challenge though, because there is not much room for new product at most of the stores around here...

So how do HTS and SWS not have basically unlimited amounts of inventory? I honestly don't get why either site should ever sell out of anything, at least as far as new stuff. They get first dibs on everything and have a direct pipeline to the factories.

I half-suspect that this is some kind of marketing ploy to limit the initial offerings in an attempt to jack up consumer interest.

Bought Shaak Ti from this wave. The story how I got her is funny, really...

Being that I was at the mall with lots of time to spare, I thought it over and finally decided to go back to buy it. When I walked in (about 20-30 minutes later), I found a fresh case of Wave 4, sans the astromech droid, on the shelves. There was only 1 case. I thought it was funny that Embo and the others had been untouched, but the astromech was gone. Either way, I immediately dumped the notion of buying another Asajj, and it took me at least 5 minutes to decide whether to get Shaak Ti or Embo. Eventually went with Shaak Ti, because I tend to lean towards Jedi characters.

Awesome - some fortunate timing on your part!

So what store did you see these at and in what state? I'm on the hunt for these, but I am trying to be judicious with my runs.

I'm going to guess they probably won't ring up if yout ake them to the register though.

But if you showed them the tag, they'd have to honor that price, right?

Yeah, some great stuff in last night's episode, mostly the dismemberment and gut smearing scene. Just brutal and awesome. Seemed like kind of a stretch that the rain would expose them so quick, but I guess they had to come up with something.

So what's up with the Asian kid? Will we see him again? I kept thinking they would cut back to the black guy and his son too sometime last night but I guess that arc is over.

Always good to see Maria Covarrubias getting work too. (Blond chick, old dudes like me remember her from her role on the X-Files)
