Ok, now that many people are starting to see the recarded rehashes actually on the pegs...are you picking them up or passing on them?

I picked up an X-Wing Luke since I never picked up the POTJ woodchuck version.  I also picked up a couple of Stormtroopers and I plan on nabbing the 'new' clean version of Bespin Luke whenever I see it.  Other than that, I've passed up most of the recarded figs.  Nice packaging, though, particularly C-3PO's.

At the moment, I plan on only buying (and opening) 3 VOTC figs: Han, Vader & Fett.  I might pick up an extra Fett to keep carded.

Boba's still got that lame BLUE jumpsuit (which was supposedly being changed to the correct grey).

Maybe there's two versions?   ???

The picture of 12" Fett's outfit over at Galactic Hunter looks grey.

Oh, and yesterday (July 13), Reuters reported that opening day receipts for F9/11 had broken British box office records for a documentary.  Way to go, Moore.   :D

Um, not quite sure a documentary is totally accurate.  That much selective editing really sort of detracts from the document portion of the word.  Bias is still bias, even if you like it.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a documentary as the following:

I. DEFINITION
1. An eligible documentary film is defined as a theatrically released non-fiction motion picture dealing creatively with cultural, artistic, historical, social, scientific, economic or other subjects. It may be photographed in actual occurrence, or may employ partial re-enactment, stock footage, stills, animation, stop-motion or other techniques, as long as the emphasis is on fact and not on fiction.

With Fahrenheit 9/11, Moore presented facts.  You can dispute whether or not he 'stretched' the truth or added significant bias in the film, but in the end, he presented facts.  Personally, I thought Moore was too gentle.  He could've presented plenty of other interesting tidbits of info about Bush (but didn't).

A recent report indicated that by the end of its third week in distribution, Fahrenheit 9/11 had grossed slightly over $80 million.  This last weekend (the weekend of July 10), Fahrenheit 9/11 was shown in more than 2,000 theaters across the country, its third screen increase in as many weeks.  Yay.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Saga Line: The End
« on: July 13, 2004, 06:16 PM »
The Saga line was great.  We saw some of the greatest figures ever made in the Star Wars line, including Ephant Mon, Bespin Luke, Coleman Trebor, Poggle the Lesser, Hoth Luke, and Skiff Lando.  We got lots of cool 'upgrade' figs (IE Hoth Han, Snowtrooper, Dengar, Jabba) with the right amount of focus placed on background characters (IE Djas Puhr, Orn Free Taa, J'Quille, Rappertunie).  On a sidenote, damn those action features to hell.    :)

A big bonus with Saga figures (which is rarely mentioned) is the fact that Hasbro didn't skimp in regards to pack-in accessories.  With the Saga line, we got cool accessories, bases, and stands with our figures.  It was nice to see cinema scenes make a comeback in the form of screen scenes.  Unfortunately, they seemed to warm toy shelves everywhere.

Saga vehicles seemed to sell very well, especially the Landspeeder, Dagobah X-Wing, and initially, the Republic Gunship.  It was a real shame that Hasbro released Zam Wesell's speeder and Anakin's speeder without making figures that could fit in the cockpit properly.  As always, the 12" line pretty much sucked.  Unleashed statues, however, seem to be a huge success, which was spawned during the Saga years.

I very much like the work of artists such as Goya, Dali and M.C. Escher.  I enjoy Michael Parkes' art as well.

Some dude behind me kept saying 'bulls--t' to just about everything in the flick.

Was he wearing an eye patch?   ???

New figures for the Movie Maniacs Series 7 line.

Robocop

Nice.  I'm crossing my fingers hoping that Robocop features a removable visor/'helmet'.

November 9

Woo-hoo!!!

On a sidenote, I still haven't upgraded my version of Pee Wee's Big Adventure to DVD.   :(  I'm a cheap bastard & I don't want to pay more than $5-$6 for it.

Hey FG...what size are they?  6" Right?

Yes, 6".

I didn't even knew these existed (I sorta remember them from back in the day) checking eBay, most of the stuff can be had for pretty cheap.

Yeah, most Pee-Wee related items dropped in value significantly after Pee-Wee's last arrest.  Damn pervert.

One more question...Is there a Darkened Adult Theater Pee-Wee?

It's rumored to be next year's Toy Fair exclusive figure.

One question...Has Bush's Approval ratings changed at all since the film has been released?

Yes, his numbers have gone down since, but there's no conclusive proof that it's due to Moore's new film.

BTW, I'm glad you saw it.  It's a documentary that I feel every American should see.

*raises hand*

I do!!!!  PWP figs were/are awesome!  I have Pee-Wee & his scooter (but the scooter is missing the front wheel & I'm also missing Pee-Wee's scooter helmet), the entire Puppet band, Chairy, Globey, Randy, Conky, Pterry, Cowboy Curtis (minus the cowboy hat), King of Cartoons (minus the crown), & Miss Yvonne.  I also have the playhouse.
