And for the record, that Wolverine looks even worse in person than it did in the pics.  Ugh.

and see there is something odd about that which coincides with the whole absence of these variants.  I did see several of these Wolvies hanging on pegs at retail - they are all gone now - but each one of them had horrid headculpts/paint apps.

iirc, the site that hosts the images for these variants and said Wolverine - the Wolverine on their site had a pretty damn nice looking headsculpt.  So where did their nice Wolvie come from, and where the heck are the variants they showed off?  Sketchy? - maybe - although very odd - that Vision variant looks perfect and to be the real deal.

This morning I put some silver duct tape on the sprayer in my kitchen sink so when my wife turned it on she got hosed - that was funny.  It was even funnier when I got myself with my own gag washing off my coffee spoon before my wife woke up (I already forgto about my own trick).

Running an April Fools day joke in advance isn't funny at all - I am gonna go out on a limb and hope that it isn't a fake - perhaps they are playing it off as a fake by not really talking about it - perhaps the name for the chase figures line itself is just the fake but the figures in the deco really are coming.

all they have at my local Target are 4 filled pegs which only contain about 5 Baronness' from the first wave, and all the rest are the generic Cobra Viper.   ::)

Turtle Viper must not have won over too many fans in my area I guess.

I wonder if the Hulk is a repeat or an upgrade?

I could be wrong, but to me the top half of the case breakdown are the brand new figures for this wave, and I think from Iron Patriot on down the figures are repacks.  I am pretty sure that both Iron Patriot and Wrecker are coming out in the wave proceeding this one, and Colossus is coming out two waves before it.  Red/Blue Spiderman is of course mos tlikely the classic one, and as for Hulk, its not a bad thing getting him out again - he doesn't peg warm.

I guess if they were going to do anything different with Hulk at this point - I could see them repainting the one from the comic pack with a less "vibrant comic stylized" coloring, otherwise I think it is still too early in the line to see a retooled or brand new one.

edit:  From CTR:   Captain Britain is a fan-favorite with several different costumes to choose from...which version will we see?

Sharp-eyed fans may have noticed that the A.I.M. Soldier from wave 9 is very similar to the classic Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider, so it's a good guess to thin this is the version we'll get.

It's possible that Multiple Man could get a "Fans' Choice Runner Up" (much like Luke Cage did), since he was part of last year's poll, although he did not win....might he be the final figure that has yet to be revealed?

On the other hand, Mystique WAS a winner in the poll, so it's a safe bet that she'll be designated as such.

Finally, another Wolverine, but in his "Team X" uniform. This is the cool spy gear from the flashback tales in the early issues of the Jim Lee-illustrated X-Men series. It's unknown if this will be using the standard Marvel Universe buck, or perhaps rescuing a figure from the ill-fated X-Men Origins: Wolverine line.

side note edit:    just noticed on HTS that Vision and Warpath are no longer even listed on the site - that sucks becuase I know this wave was real hard for some people to get

user Goldbug over at rebelscum posted a link showing off more new figures to come in a case breakdown on bbts - http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=HAS18604&mode=retail

Case Includes:

Captain Britain x 1
Team X Wolverine x 2
Multiple Man x 2
Mystique x 1
Ghost Rider x 1
Iron Patriot x 1
Wrecker x 1
Colossus x 1
Spider-Man (Red / Blue) x 1
Hulk x 1

I like the sound of those new figures- bring em on! Although, this just goes to show we will be buying Ghost Rider twice - you just know they are gonna put him out on his bike sometime, right?!?!

Oh well, I'll bite - something about this line is still too shakey for me too hold off on passing things.

I think the only thing that I haven't picked up yet, and kinda want from the ROC line is the Wild Bill/Dragonhawk.  But I don't want it enough to pay $25 - so I am holding off.

As for the $25 Pit, I debated getting it if I ever saw it go that low - but I decided I would rather save the space/money for the AT-AT.

The Legacy Collection '08-'10 / Re: Legacy Collection Comic Packs
« on: March 27, 2010, 04:55 PM »
You could kinda look at the Marvel Universe comic pack line as a comparision.  All of the comic packs were encompassing the whole "Secret Wars" story  -which was 12 issues.  Did it do well?  I dunno - it looks as if they sit on the shelf too, so kinda "meh".

Now that the MU line has done all 12 issues - they are changing the comic pack selection - they aren't going to be covering one story anymore - but they are going to a random/greatest hits selection I believe.  So we will see how that goes.

gotta agree - I have read some of Legacy so I know who Deliah Blue/Darth Nihl are, but I don't even really know much about Jarael and the other he was packed with and i was really liking it too!

imo- we will see them - hasbro spent money on them already, fans liked what they saw - they aren't going to let them rot - we will see them someday!

Marvel Universe, IM2, and maybe a little more back tracking of SW figures I have missed out on.

Hasbro took value away, so I took my dollars away from them (or rather their retail partners, which in turn took product from me(us) by not ordering as much of the Legacy line. Who's to blame? Not me, I've already said I'd have bought more had the value been there...

I hope that answers your question, shmashwitdaclub.

makes perfect sense to me - thanks for the response

@Dan - I completely agree with your Dengar comments.  I "collected"/played with my Star Wars toys initially as a kid during the regular vintage line.  After that I didn't collect anything until I was an adult and my son was like 2.5 years old and I took him to see ROTS at the dollar theater cuz I didn't know how he would be in his first time in a theater and he loved it.  Thats what got me back into collecting again.  Some of you I have traded with/purchased from on this very site know that I buy everything to open and give to my son - reliving my childhood through him - he is crazy spoiled.

So, with that said - I started collecting toys for him pretty much at the start of the Saga2 line.  I purchased nearly every figure for him - but as I continued collecting through the TAC and Legacy lines - I noticed I had a lot of catching up to do on figures that I have missed.  I went to the aftermarket on RS.com and here to fill those gaps at some great prices for me to spend on him.

In the case of a figure, like Dengar (saga version) - there are many other examples, where I may have spent $2-3 on him taking him off someone else's hands losse/complete.  I personally am not going to mind buying an "ultimate version" of him because I feel I got a pretty great deal on him initially, and, if I ever choose to unload him, I feel I can recoup most of if not all my initial investment - again, should I choose to.

Having said that, if I had spent full retail on him, $5, and I chose to unload him after having bought the new Vintage line version - I would be losing money over a couple points more of articulation - and I hate wasteful spending - I am a pretty frugal collector and try my damndest to not pay full price on stuff by saving receipts and returning stuff when things go on sale.  It is a big freaking headache - but worthwhile for me so I can obtain a great collection with the funds I have available to spend.

@muftak - I LOVE your legends 2 pack ideas - I could see them being a big hit. Along with that, I LOVE a lot of the other suggestions of figures and rotation we have in this thread for the Legends line.

good conversation we have going on in here.  :)

Season 2 Finale SPOILER WARNING - proceed at your own risk.  :-X

Yeah, I'm guessing that this guy is a definite figure at some point... wouldn't surprise me if they've already got him slotted in one of the Fall waves.  ;)

Well, that explains the helmet and rifle role play toys. I believe it also finally confirms the new bigger, badder Slave One that will be at SDCC this year. Save your money it's going to get expensive......

my God I hope you are right cuz it makes perfect sense - this is gonna rock!
