Joe Defender / The Comics
« on: July 21, 2010, 04:31 AM »
So, is anyone picking up GI Joe #156 today? I've been out of IDW's current comics, but I have been obsessively reading the Marvel reprints, so I'm really looking forward to this.

Linky to that otheR Site.

Since I'm a sucker for stuff like this, I suppose I'm going to buy them. They could be those "new toys" spoken of in the DVD press release.

I seriously doubt that any VOTC/VTSC figures would be in the packs, for some reason.

Modern Trading / Have UGH; want Sep. of Twins
« on: April 29, 2006, 01:35 AM »
I have one each of the following UGH figures:

AT-AT Driver
Commander Cody
Snowtrooper
Obi-Wan
Anakin

I'm looking for 2x of the Infant Leia w/ Bail Organa set, and 1x of Infant Luke Skywalker w/ Obi-Wan. I also seek the Commemorative DVD sets that were at WM for the Clone Wars Vol. 2 DVD release.

Thanks for the look!  :)

Other Toy Lines / Big Amazon sale.

Linky.

Dropped about $80 after shipping myself, with a bunch of Buffy/Angel figures I didn't have yet and a Thomas Riker from DST's Trek line (which isn't on sale.)

Not much for Star Wars, but the GI Joe HISS Tank is available for $10, best price I've seen. It's mostly McFarlane and other more 'kiddie' stuff, but there's gold in them thar hills.

Other Toy Lines / Big Lebowski toys!
« on: March 10, 2006, 12:52 AM »
There's no official website for the company making them, but there is this blog with the press release.

Linkage.

They're only making the Dude and Walter, which is enough. It's not like I need or want a figure of every character in the film, though having some nihilists for Walter to beat on would be pretty cool.  :)

And these are only going to be sold at EE, if I read that correctly.

Other Toy Lines / Awesome Tower.com sale!! Hurry!!
« on: January 14, 2006, 12:25 AM »
60% off!

Linky.

Be wary. It may say "Free shipping" but it really isn't. The fine print states orders that include toys aren't eligible for free shipping.

I picked up 7 Buffy figures for $45 shipped, which is about the cost of three at regular retail.

Other Toy Lines / Latest vintage acqusition
« on: January 13, 2006, 10:47 PM »
There's a thread like this in the Vintage section, but I'm going to make one for other older toys here.

I bought this one on ebay, and it finally arrived today...

Authentic G1 Soundwave

I almost swear it's fresh out of the box, since the joints are really, really tight. Alas, it didn't include any Cassetticons, but there's some reasonably-priced bootlegs of Ravage and Rumble/Frenzy making the rounds on ebay that I might pick up.

I usually get my younger cousins a little something for Christmas every year, and I wanted to get them something besides action figures this year.

I thought about the children's books, and have no idea where to start. Are there some decent currently-available books that have the story of ROTS? I know there are some for the OT, and I'm going to get those for them.
