Vintage Kenner / Re: Latest vintage acquisition

I decided to complete my vintage collection recently, so I started by taking the first step into a larger world (POTF) with these two:

They're perfect, which is nice. Probably overpaid for Lando, but got Luke a little cheaper than I expected. Got three of the last 17; 14 to go.  :P Plus a few common figures that need replacing.

Wow. Almost $10 grand a piece.

It's pretty expensive, but I'm seriously considering it, about as seriously as Mattel would, for what it's worth.

I would rather buy something like a MOTUC Battle Ram or Land Shark or Slime Pit, but I get why the want to get this out the door before the line ends. It's far more iconic.

...and now the Maul BP is out of stock on the Target website, yet in stock at one of the stores I hit yesterday. I could just about puke. This is one of the worst-distributed exclusives I've ever seen.  :(

Congrats on the Jedi Luke!  :) I know how hard they are to find without an offer on the card. I only have one vintage carded figure, and an offerless 77-back Jedi Luke is it.

Also, Snake Face, Karatti, and Octavia were revealed at Power-Con.

Made a run out-of-town today with Darby and Matt R. trying to score some swag, namely the K-mart 2-packs and the Maul BP. Didn't find either of those, but I did grab an AT-AT in the blue box and a V-19 Torrent, so it wasn't all bad.

Pretty disappointed in the distribution as well. I've forgotten how many figures I am behind, and the Maul BP is like non-existent around here, but I was still happy to grab an AT-AT.

Picked up the high-quality KO of Shockwave recently, and it arrived this week. Definitely better than an average KO, but still doesn't have the fit and finish that something from TakTom or Hasbro would have. Had to do some minor surgery on the left leg to get the foot to slide out, and there's a lot of mold flashes. I don't know if stuff like this is because it's such a flimsy design or what.

That said, it beats the hell out of paying $300 for a loose busted-up POS Shockwave on ebay.

I already have all that on DVD already, but might bite on that for Grayskull thingie and the soundtrack CD.

It's on the main page. Now it says: Error: Invalid start/end news items.

I'm using Chrome, but it works fine in IE. Just on my end I guess.

I hate to be a bother, but there seems to be something wrong with the link to the fix tutorial on the main page.

I don't collect statues, but that is pretty neat.

And to think I drove all the way out there this morning to grab Thundercracker and didn't look around a little harder. *sigh*

Better head out there Friday morning and grab one.  :)

How many did they have left?  I'm thinking about a trip up there to snag a couple.

Corman

They're gone now. Amazing how fast those and the MP Thundercracker went.

I'm looking to hang it up after that last group of vintage figures comes out and I grab that BMF reissue. About the only thing I'm interested in next year is Jocasta Nu, so I'll get that when it comes out. I really can't think of anything else I would want Hasbro to make other than more characters on vintage cards (like Garindan) but that would technically make me a cardboard collector.

I think Droid Factory is a great thing, but I really don't want to feel compelled to buy new versions of things I already have to complete a droid. I'll see what 2014 brings, and welcome the break in 2013.
