Watto's Junk Yard / Re: New Years Plans?
« on: December 31, 2003, 07:42 PM »
New TV, pizza, beer, and the first two LOTR flicks. I declined invitations to parties this year. Not too interested in getting piss drunk, I guess.

They didn't lower the price on the Screen Scenes at my local Target. I still need to pick up War Room #2.

Watto's Junk Yard / A morality question
« on: December 28, 2003, 12:15 AM »
You're sitting in line at Target, a brand spankin' new Sliver Surfer from Marvel Legends series 5 in your hands. When the cashier scans the item, it doesn't scan. She tries a few more times. Finally, she has to actually speak to you to ask you how much the price was. You answer:

My answer was $5.99. I know full well that Target's price on Marvel Legends is closer to $7 each, but if they couldn't take the time to enter it into their computers (it must have been a return) then I'm going to take advantage of it. I did the same thing yesterday when I found Sabretooth at the same store.

So tell me, what would you do if the same thing happened to you?

I was reading the thread about this at LOTRGuide.com and the seller said he found it at Target.

‘Somebody mention a strip club? Spend it on that Pancho Pico! Holy cows, I wonder- r’ strip clubs even open on X-Mas eve?? Toronto strip clubs are high quality; let me tell yah, one even served real nice fettuccini…and Sunset Thomas to boot-- buckle your senses straight into right gear…godamn.

As far as I remember, those 'fine' establishments are closed on holidays. But, it varies, I'm sure.

I got a 32" Wega TV from my parents, as well as Buffy Season 5 on DVD and the 1992 Buffy movie. I got a mall gift certificate and some new boxer pants, which are kind of my second skin. :)

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Any Star Wars Surprises Under the Christmas Tree?

I didn't get anything Star Wars, but I did get a bigger TV, so that'll help when watching the OT.

Woah, I was just at Target and all I found were figures for Spider-Man 2. Get this, they were all Spider-Man variants. I wonder if TB realizes a hero is only as interesting as his villain.

Anyway, the hunt is on!!

We were supposed to have a company-wide Christmas party this year (that'd have been a hoot) but the decision came down to donate the $10,000 it would cost for that to a cancer research fund. It was fine with me; I got my bonus, gainsharing check, and paycheck this week. (We have a gainsharing program that typically pays out $50-$100 every month.)

Plus, I only work four hours tomorrow and I have Friday off. Merry Christmas to me. ;D Sorry to hear about some of you guys, especially sp00ky.

I'd have taken the roll and TP'd the place. I mean, come on, they're just asking for it with a stunt like that.

Watto's Junk Yard / Christmas Bonuses
« on: December 23, 2003, 01:32 AM »
I just got my Christmas bonus today. It consisted of half a week's pay and a smoked turkey. While my mother has plans for the turkey, I have no idea what to do with the money. (Yeah, like I'm really gonna save it.)

There's some Buffy figures I have my eye on, but I don't know. Those'll piss it away faster than a strip club.

Help?

(I'm dead sick with the flu, so please play along.) ;)

Last I heard, it was an exclusive as such. I only yank my own chain, after all. ;)
(oh, there goes the last shred of respect I had here.)

If the only criticism the tards can find is 'Frodo and Sam were gay' then I'd say they're reaching for criticism. Besides, they're probably little 15 year old jerkwads who spend too much time on the internet anyway. But that's just me.
