Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Packaging Issue...
« on: November 21, 2007, 12:04 PM »
Ah, updated thread. I updated my packaging too last year. I had kept boxes and boxes of carefully stacked empties in my attic, but finally just tossed them all in a dumpster. I saved a few in one box, and now I'm just keeping the backing and inserts like a lot of you guys. I slice the bubble off and get rid of the plastic. These cardbacks take up relatively room so its not that much of a hassle. I have them now in a few 10 x 13 envelopes.  I imagine it would be easy to keep these in clear sleeves in a binder.

I didn't realize how often I check the front page for news here. I missed it.  :o  I missed lurking on these forums too. I went over to Rebelscum even, like I bet a lot of people did. That sucked.

They restocked the pegs again, so I did get a Snowtrooper yesterday, but still at 8.69. I'll look again next week and see if they're down further.

They're on clearance around here, starting at $8 and change.  Haven't seen any Snowtroopers, but one Target has plenty of everything else.

Yeah, arranging figures is a good way to console oneself when finding out there's only pegwarmers about, and nothing new.  I always put characters on their own pegs too, but I guess the stocking idea is to spread them out over the whole area to give the appearance of large stock.

Anyway, I wish we'd get some TAC 2 out here pegwarming - still nothing.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: radio stations changing format
« on: March 2, 2007, 11:48 AM »
Yeah, it seems like these changes happen in waves.  I guess companies buy up stations, consolidate, move crud around, and then do a lot of "market research" to ruin stations. Well sometimes there's some improvement, like the local "first name" station here, Dave FM, improved on the classic rock format of the previous station. They just play more now catering to more tastes and eras.

But then there's the old rock stalwart here called 96 rock, which had been around since 1974.  They retained the same basic rock attitude all that time, until late last year, BAM - suddenly it was no more and now an angry young man station is in its place called Project 9.6.1. True I don't really want to hear the same Lynyrd Skynyrd and Pink Floyd songs that 96 rock would play over and over, but now that they're gone and I kinda miss the old school rock ways.

I don't think anything went country though. Of course there's always been a glut of country here.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Wal*Mart Exclusive Basic Figures #70-74

Found the Wal+Mart exclusives yesterday, with the rest of whichever wave you wanna call it.  I didn't need to pick up everything, but all the astromechs are nice, plus some Cantina patrons, which look spiffy in their new digs (Saga cards). I'll open some later.

"When If it weren’t for my horse, I wouldn’t have spent that year in college.' brain comes to dark in here, and we may die.'

giddy up, giddy up, let's go - Don't! Don't think about that sentence for more than three minutes, or blood'll shoot out your nose. The Americfor no apparent reason. There's a reason. You're at the mall one day, and somebody over there says the dumbest thing you've ever heard and it gerson who said it, because if you can ask 'em a question like, But And now those words are in your head. And those words don't go away.

7% of our brains functions all the time, because 99% of everything All right. Move on. Get it. Right. But every  in college.' So your brain goes, 'LET'S FIGURE IT OUT! Son of a bitch! was she riding. Maybe it was a polo pony; she had a polo pony scholarship. Maybe she sold the horse and that's how she - she was betting on the horse! WHAT THE ****?!! And then you realize that anybody who went tuld never say anything soon as you have that thought, your eyes close and the next morning they find you dead in your bathroom."

Wow, I think the random cuts I did in that monologue help me make more sense out of the whole thing.

Do you think Lucas can get better Trojan football tickets now?
