« on: November 19, 2003, 03:58 PM »
More from KBtoys.com.   Sales on the Tie Fighter and Imperial Shuttle.

I priced out a shuttle for me (though I haven't decided yet)

  $69.99 shuttle
-$10.00 coupon SEARSKBTOY
   $9.91 shipping
      0.00 tax (in my state)

for a total of
$69.90

Not bad.

Did I blink and miss it at Rubblebum?  I think I saw it for one second.  What happened?

I'd just casually mention in a semi-joking manner when you go pick up the copies your friend's making you - "C'mon now, I hooked you up with a free set of the OT.  Least you could do is give me a complimentary set in return.  Cheapskate!"  Maybe that'll do the trick.  Sometimes people just need a little reality check or wake up call to realize what they're doing.

That's probably what I would do too.   I know your P.O.'d, but it sounds just like a simple misunderstanding. Friends are bound to make little mistakes like this, trip up once in a while.  I would let him understand your point of view, joking sounds good, and let him reconsider. Sounds like a small aggravation from a friend, rather than a real problem.

I would immediately get ticked off too though.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What's spinning?

I have two compilation cds I play a lot. One's full of 80s "modern rock" (??) and the other late-90s "alternative"(??).

As for me, I'm in oldies mode right now.  Some Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, James Brown, The Platters & Drifters, Sam Cooke, etc.
Sadly -- darn me and my fettish for words ending in ly -- not many radio stations play true oldies any more. Instead, their rotation is comprised of 70s and 80s tunes. If demographics studies suggest songs from the 50s and 60s have to be phased out because they don't bring in  revenue stream, fine. Just don't impose the "oldies" label onto the "classic rock" songs of the 70s and 80s.

So true.  All these oldies stations (probably because they are owned by maybe one owner) have switched from the classics before my time, to the classics of the far lamer 70's/80's.  Darn demographics. Its probably not even a solid marketing study - just someone's idea that only baby boomers count so we have to switch all programming to that era.  Blah.  Gimme the Four Lads!

Technically, she might seem like a hottie, but I just watched Farscape, so here goes.  Claudia Black:

That is interesting - I'll see what I get in the mail.

The real story here, or at least the second story is definitely: 6 times! Wow, heheh.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Last CD You Bought
« on: July 8, 2003, 05:15 PM »
I've bought some cd's too recently, actually purchased  them over the counter and everything!  :) Its strange not seeing songs as files.

Last one was Hail to the Thief.  I'll come back to it later, even though I still think Kid A was a better one for this 'era' of Radiohead's music.  (Course "The Bends" is still the best.

I got a Love two cd set recently which is amazing. That band was all over the map.  I found some used Grateful Dead stuff too, some of there early studio albums I had never listened to.  "Anthem of the Sun" is good. I know buying their studio stuff is an affront to every bootleg loving Deadhead everywhere, because its not as real, man.  I like it though.  And I used to dismiss this band all the time.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Anyone preorder the wave 13 case from NFC?
« on: July 1, 2003, 04:24 PM »
I didn't order this from NewForce, but I did from Entertainment Earth. They've given me periodic status updates, and the latest was from June 30. Its not in stock yet, but their new expected date is July. (They have kept pushing this date back, just like everyone else.) I don't think its in anyone's hands yet.

Thanks for the welcome guys.  Its good reading some of the columns and the rest of the site too.  I'll delve into it more.

No Willow with me, but I DID spot some pretty darn good pics of her somewhere around here.  ;)

I just got back from 2 weeks vacation, and I feel like playing hooky more than ever.  Right in the middle of a big delivery crunch.  And when two other people are out sick.  Enjoy it!

Hey All,

I recognize a lot of folks from the Rebelscum, and its good to find the familiar names here.  If I don't know you, let me introduce myself.  Xander's a name from Buffy fame.

As for Star Wars, I continue to collect modern figures, and I'm slowly buying up some Vintage items. I started reading the Dark Horse comics not too long ago, and I read some books here and there.  Oh yeah, I like watching the movies too.

Sorry if it looks like I'm lurking a lot, but I may keep this site minimized and check it throughout the day.  I still want to keep up with you guys and your collections.  See you around!
