The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Jedi Turbo Speeder

Design wise I am not a fan and am surprised at it making it to production in this coming line as it gets such little screen time (part of one episode)

Will pass.

Will be looking forward to the SA knee Mace and Kit.

was able to hide the red/silver Iron Man pegwarmers today and pulled a Jedi mind trick on the Target employee making him think they were out of stock on the sales floor (I just moved them to the IM2 section).  He scanned the peg, said there were a bunch in the back and brought out a case.  I scored the Archangel Death variant and the old school Havok and another AIM trooper.

It was nice to see Colossus and Juggie hanging on the pegs - shows the great potential of this line.  Those 2 figures are so BA - but I already had them.

That is a good 'trick' which I shall keep in mind next time I have same question to answer at retail.

And I am looking forward to seeing the Archangel,Colossus,Juggernaut and Havok figures from this line as they look excellent.

The Vintage Collection / Re: The Street Date Debate
« on: July 29, 2010, 09:31 AM »
And what is even the point of a street date for this line anyhow?

Hasbro's perception and not the reality that it'll fuel greater interest and thus greater dollars with the "massive anticipation" factor they think is going to occur.

Believing in the tooth fairy is about the same as the street date making a positive difference to sales.

Quote
"There was no shelf date at all for retailers outside of North America; this was changed earlier this year and all marking were taken off of our master cartons.  The reason for this is that there was no entertainment event that set up the new line launch in other countries; in the U.S. and Canada it is part of the lead-up to the launch of Clone Wars Season 3 and all licensees were held to the August date to create an event-feel to the launch."

Well Jeff, that does explain it and I do not follow Q&A religiously hence not read that before.

I agree with the buckpassing comment you made and I also think it's bollocks to say that TVC product coincides with CW season III.

They are not even the same action figure line-up.  ::)

I think that Gam Guard is the first figure that I have to do a double take to make sure it isn't a picture from the movie.

It's also the first Gam Guard I'm actually very likely to purchase and add to my collection.

Not a completist by any means and only buy figures I like the look of or the character themselves therefore before now I've not gotten any Gam Guards of Jabba's Palace themed figures (bar Slave Leia and Skiff Guard Lando)

This figure looks so amazing it's too good to not buy.

Instead of TL;DR I did read all of this thread before posting and can say firstly Australia has not had this issue with street dates on TVC.

Here's a docket for the first TVC figures I purchased from a local K-Mart (price match there from a variety store, normal price is $15.75 AUD).

Said figures:

TRU in Australia now does have TVC figures for sale and at a 'sale price' of $9.98 AUD for the moment so it's totally odd and perhaps a lot of power-tripping freaks in their little pond they call Hasbro or TRU talking smack cause if Hasbro AU can get it sorted then how Hasbro USA cannot is whacked to say the least.

Hall of Justice / Re: DC Universe Infinite Heroes
« on: July 24, 2010, 02:28 AM »
Found these today at Big W and I assume a sub-line (maybe a new line altogether) ??? from the DC Infinities line.

They have been out at Target for a while now.  I toyed with the idea of getting a Batman, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Not in Australia they've not been.

I'm psyched to see ARC Troopers in CW and agree they're overdue.

Good to some moving forward from what was becoming run of the mill character wise in a subject area that could touch on much much more....

An army builder's dream there.

Indeed a good Army Builder there and customisers dream too, many colour and weathering options could be applied.

I'll be looking for them to add to my collection for sure.

We need a generic Senate guard to army build.

Absolutely....  ;D

"Fives" was a standard clone with removable helmet. He was from the CW 'Rookies' episode and Echo has the handprint and visor attachment on his helmet so not 'standard'

Nice new stuff,I'll be seeking them for my collection.
