I mainly just want this for the vintage card.  I do agree that it's kind of crappy they used the Luke body.  Just use the one from the X-Wing.  Oh well.

Most of the modern Yoda figures look kind of half-assed to me.  It's like they don't put much effort into him.  The OTC one was decent and so was the vintage one but nothing that truly stands out and yells "That is Yoda!!!"  I'm not that thrilled with the new vintage version either.

Anyway, yeah vintage Yoda was fantastic for the time.  I loved the orange snake!

Bib freaked me out when I first saw him in ROTJ.  So, I was happy to get his action figure when it came out.  I still like the vintage Bib Figure the best.  I don't care for the modern updates to him at all.  It would be cool to get an update of him.  As always, I'm up for vintage card of just about any OT figure.

Collect All 92! / Re: Walrus Man
« on: March 2, 2011, 10:35 AM »
Well I always liked having Walrusman to play with when I was a kid.  I HAD to have that figure.  I would love having Kenobi beat-up poor Walrusman.  I hated Walrusman when I was kid because he picked on Luke "FOR NO GOOD REASON!!!"  Ha-ha!   So, in my play time Kenobi would not only slice off Walrusman's arm but he would beat Walrusman to a pulp.  You mess with Luke like that and you get a beating from Obi-Wan.  That's just the way it was in my play world.  I was sensitive about poor Luke  :D

Anyway, I actually liked the POTF version when it first came out.  I think because we finally got a somewhat accurate looking version.  I know, I know.  It's POTF buff but at least the colors were correct when compared to the original version.  I'm really looking forward to getting two of the upcoming Ponda Baba.  One to open and the other to keep on the vinty card.

I never knew about the flipper hands until last year when someone post pics of it.  That's good they are including them I suppose.  I will probably just keep with "regular" hands though.  Someone showed a behind the scenes photo of his head being sliced off as well as his arm.  That would have been interesting!  Maybe Lucas will have an alternate scene in the Blu-Rays with that?

Collect All 92! / Re: AT-AT Commander
« on: March 2, 2011, 10:23 AM »
I ended up playing with the vintage AT-AT commander quite a bit with the AT-AT walker itself.  I HAD to have him in the AT-AT head at all times calling the shots.  He ended up getting out of the Walker to battle Luke, Han, and of course 21-B and FX-7  8)

I'm actually happy with both the updated Veers and vintage AT-AT commander.  I like Veers because of the officers cap and snap off armor.  It's like getting 2 figures in one.  Of course now I would prefer him with SA but I'm fine with the swivel arms stuff because he doesn't really do anything in the film other than put his hands behind his body or pull down that targeting apparatus to destroy Echo Base.

I love the SA features they put int the figures nowadays.  Obviously the AT-AT commander is the best of the 3 in terms of sculpt and playability.

I would buy up both figures in a heartbeat mainly because I would want them on vintage cards.  However, Ree Yees really could use an update.  I just don't care for the POTF2 pose that he's in.  It's not bad but when you look at SA sculpts nowadays he just looks really outdated.

So, how long will it take for her to dump Russell Brand?  I'm giving it until the end of this year.

Nice!  I live seeing Chewbacca in the Clone Wars series.  Finally we get to see him beat up some Trandoshans.  I was kind of hoping we would see Wookies taking on Trandoshans in ROTS when they were battling the droids.

Can a little Han Solo be too far behind?  I know people are going to be upset if he shows up but I wouldn't doubt it.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Clone Wars RC Republic Tank
« on: March 2, 2011, 09:52 AM »
Perhaps the RC Hailfire Droid did better in different parts of the country than others?  We really did not have THAT many clogging the shelves where I live at.  Granted I live near Phx, Arizona and there are tons of SW collectors out here.  Do not get me wrong you find them easily enough especially at $65 first price.  But I would only see a couple at each store after they initially put them out.  I will say I usually just frequent about 5-6 different retail stores here.  Maybe they were clogging up other shelves in the area?  I don't know.  It sounds like it after reading some posts here.  When I lived in a smaller town in Illinois this sounds like something that would rot on the shelves to be honest mainly because of the price.

Anyway, the RC apparently did well enough to warrant another RC toy.  I will be tempted to buy this if my son wants it.  I will admit I wouldn't have bought the RC Hailfire Droid but my son was begging for it when he first saw it.  We got it for his birthday last November.  I think it was on "sale" for $45-50 but can't remember now.  Or maybe my parents bought it for him?  Whatever.  Anyway, the kid loves this toy.  He still whips it out on a frequent basis.  The Nintendo Wii we got him for X-Mas pretty much stole the other toys thunder.

My point is kids are going to be the ones that want to go for an RC toy.  Not many collectors will especially when they want accuracy, etc.  Kids for the most part don't give a crap about that.  So, I think this RC toy will probably fair ok.  It's not going to fly off the shelves especially it's going to be $65 again.

I have only seen a few of them.  It ALMOST makes want to break down and go for Brian's Toys one of each figure club thing.  Then I come back to my senses  :D

Nik Sant is the only Rebel Commando I'd really want honestly.  However, I'd go for a few variants if they come our way.

Maul just grabs your attention.  It's a good design approach to go with him IMO.  The only stuff I keep carded nowadays is vintage unless it's truly something unique or a bit rare like say Sandtrooper on the Freeze Frame cardback but that was over a decade ago.

I haven't even sniffed this wave at retail yet.  I guess it will show eventually? More than likely it's time to hit the net for this wave.

My wife won't let me plunk down $100 on a case.  Otherwise I would be all over this.  I will just have to find them one by one at retail I guess.
