Saga '02-'04 / Re: Saga 2004 - Predictions
« on: July 18, 2003, 12:51 AM »
Thanks guys!

The internal lists are basically lists of confirmed, possibles and anything else...

I can tell you that Hem Dazon is looking to be a definite addition to our collections. I think much of what lies in the balance is the fate of future Screen Scenes.

Hasbro has some ideas brewing that could lead into more of them... though if figures do not see the light in that venue then we'll see some normal carded for sure.

I have also been told a revisit to EU could be a possibility depending on what we see for interest on Clone Wars.

Hasbro basically is watching the market more carefully than they ever have.

I wish I could tell you what the big announcement was tomorrow... but honestly I have no clue whatsoever.
I'm just as anxious...

There is supposedly already a mock up for the Jedi Master points promo... and we should see that soon  :)

« on: July 16, 2003, 10:52 AM »
OK here's some more "rumored" info I have received in the last week or so...

Jabba on his dais... maybe put on hold. The contact I have w/ in Hong Kong was not sure if this was definite or even the reason why... he was given the word on this and was he'd know more info soon.

I am still praying this isn't the case... but nothing we can do but wait it out and see.

Also to answer Simdog...

There is a Hermie Odle on Hasbro internal lists. As of now it has not made it past those lists... and honestly a lot has made th list and never seen the light of day.
Though the source in Hong Kong is fairly certain we will see Ephant's counterpart.

There was talk of doing some Jabba screen scenes and incorporating Hermie in that way... as well as re-releasing Ephant that way. Nothing again has evolved out of the talk on those as of yet...

Next year is/was due to be a bigger focus on Return... as you can see by the list I posted in that link to the Trade Fed. There was also talk of a Gam Guard w/ Bubo... though the Gam Guard went off to the Target set.

Now w/ those most likely not coming out could the Gam Guard be back as a single carded figure?

Or could it be included in another talked about Jabba's four pack (i.e. Imperial and Hoth TRU sets)?

There is also talk of some Cantina screen scenes and as of now at the very least one looks like a definite possibility... Banniss Keeg is said to be one inclusion... and details on his company of two are still in the air.

Of course remember that throughout the years the line has been going much has come and gone...
Does anyone know there was going to be another Bespin playset? And it actually reached a kit bash prototype stage...

Hasbro changes their minds more than any woman I know ;)

The info I receive is usually very early... and many times coems from an internal source. That's the reasoning why it's hard to say for sure that something is a definite because Hasbro does put hold on things... or in so cases nixes them all together.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Most amazing custom ever? Look...
« on: July 14, 2003, 02:50 PM »
I've been following this one and even put a pathetic bid at the beginning LOL

This is probably the best custom diorama piece I have ever seen. Frank (Niub) does incredible work... but even Frank's palace doesn't come close to this one.

I can't see the $3,500 price tag but hey to each his own I guess. Understandably it's big and the detailing is amazing.. but $3,500???  :o

I mean the Saga Cantina Han and company are "new" in their books  ;D

Anything I find out I'll share w/ ya.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Dream Toylines
« on: July 11, 2003, 04:05 PM »
NUMERO UNO for me... (and I tell my wife and kids consantly when we watch  :D)

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

The possibilities are endless w/ this line....

I mean each child as well as each parent/guardian
Then each child in their variant form
Willy and his Oompa Lommpas (even they'd have variants)
Playsets out the wazoo...
Vehicles...

This line could be an incredble one if it was executed just right. You could add electronics, scratch n' sniff (the snoozeberries taste like snoozeberries)...

If only...

Hey anyone want to hire me that runs/owns a toy cpmpany  ;)

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Saga 2004 - Predictions
« on: July 11, 2003, 02:58 PM »
Here's a list of stuff I had posted when I was over at TradeFederation.net...

As you can see some stuff is actually coming to fruition this year (Passel, Dignitaries), and that post was made far before any "official" confirmations from Hasbro.

Or even before any Hunters or Rebel Scum had "mentioned"...  ;)

Of course any of that stuff can get the axe, or pushed... but as of last talk w/ the person that gave me that info most was still on lists... or a go.

Some other things that we might be in for is a new Y-Wing, reissue on the Falcon... A new Falcon was talked of but at this point wouldn't be cost effective for Hasbro to go w/.

Let's hope the economy can turn around and we might get something newer... but here's to hoping...

Also this stuff is not nesscessarily all for 2004 though much is being talked about for next year.

I know people are wondering about the Sandcrawler... and from what I hear we should still see this piece... but for now it's on "hold".

I believe the 2nd series accessory sets have taken the axe, but even the person supplying the info to me is still not 100% sure on those...

To be continued...

I dunno I can't seem to get into this one for some reason... Maybe because pirates don't do much for me and that whole period in time.

I love Depp as an actor and is one of the greats in our modern times. Maybe I'll see it once it hits shelves on DVD format.

Customs Community and Group Projects / Customs or not?
« on: July 7, 2003, 04:52 PM »
I brought this up on a couple of forums and figured I'd throw it up here as well to get your opinions...

Does a custom figure have to have all it's articulation to be considered custom to you?

Or is a custom any figure you change in any way at all?

I go for the second...

I have done many customs (which I will soon post a bunch f pics of) that have been from simple repaints to swaps to paint/swaps... Haven't dare tried sculpting end since I couldn't imagine what'd come out of that  ;)

Some of the customs I have done have all artic... while others have almost none.

I view customs as filler space for stuff Hasbro has not... or will not give us. Most of what I do are fillers in every sense of the word. I have done a few Endor troopers, Ewoks, Tatooine residents, Senators, Jedi, and even working on Nightclub/Coruscant patrons now...

They are mostly to flush out small scenes that I scatter throught my collection.

What's your thoughts guys...
