Maybe, there's no rush at Hasbro. Light-up sabers might be next year's gimmick, too. AOTC Anakin and Obi-Wan with light up sabers!

People may be jumping the gun on the lack of articulation. Those photos are always doctored up.

But if there is less articulation. I don't understand. Is it really cheaper to tool up new molds with limited articulation than to recolor an existing one with articulation? I doubt most if any of the larger vehicle drivers are in the film.  GI JOE's Hasbro's brand and they don't have to pay licensing compared to Marvel or Star Wars, unless the film likenesses are a factor. Plus they rehash vehicle molds, too.

GI JOE's legacy was the moveable fighting man, and whenever they've reduced articulation, the line has sucked and sucked hard (Extreme, the first Gi JOE Vs. Cobra figures in 2002, those little sigma six 2.5" things).

The second wave came and went, but it was like the first wave had twice the run and reshipped after the second wave.  Maybe they were planning on keeping them around until AotC 3D to come out.  :P

I wish they'd moved to Sarlacc Pit 2-packs or Endor 2-packs or anything not prequel two packs.

Like those 3 packs, had they done something, even just vintage colors homage to Kenner (Say like browner skinned Bossk, gray IG-88 , all-white snowtrooper, black pants Han Solo, grey Death Star Trooper and black uniformed Needa)...I might have bought at least one at full price. As they were, they were only for retro packaging enthusiasts & completists and maybe the odd parent gift giver.

Toys R Us has Deluxe on sale for $15.99 this week...and pod racer  pilot sets for the odd price of $21.59.

Ugh, slim pickings on clearance swag. All I found were a few Cad Bane's Escape and Assault on Geonosis BP's, 1 Hunt for Grievous BP, an AAT, and a smattering of El-Les, Obi-Wan, and SBD's.

No sign at all anywhere of any clearanced Deluxe sets, which is what I was really hoping to see.

I saw the AT-RT with the ram horns on the side clearanced at a Wal-Mart for $13. Not super cheap, but decent compared to new prices. This same wal-mart clearanced their only 3 remaining vintage figures to $4.50 (yeah, they had  new movie heroes and clone wars out, but no new vintage on pegs).

It was good enough, but predictable in that Obi-Wan would try to save the others and spare Eval.

Bane gets his old hat back...what a shame.

The box had a trap specifically dependant on a certain lifeform being present to deactivate? What if he had died earlier? (Eval would've used a different challenge I guess).

Likewise, what if they over dwindled the contendors to less than 5?

Since Moralo Eval is the schemer of the mission, why is Dooku so willing to treat him as disposable?

I wondered why no one took the sniper rifle and shot Eval with it.

Bane has a sense of honor...hmmm...for guy who kills someone over a hat.

After Sgt. Brick they said no more CW mail-aways. Even though they had to make more Bricks to satisfy demand.  :P

If we don't get 100,000 forms in the mail within 2 months, it's a flop! I wonder if the current mail-in Fett won't be considered a flop because after they nixed the online version there's so few order forms to be found at a retail for folks to use.

Way to spoil that Maul's a cyborg!  :P

The first Fox was a kitbash that didn't look right, IIRC. So odds are this is a new one.

Not that anyone here is overly interested in this line, but looking at the rumor report at RS (similar to the TVC one), it doesn't look like there is much on the way from this line for awhile either.  According to that list, the only "new" figures listed are:

Darth Vader
Boba Fett
Sandtrooper (seriously, what is the obsession with Sandtroopers over Stormtroopers?)
ROTS Anakin Skywalker
Luke Skywalker

There's bad action feature versions of the other four, but which crappy sandtrooper will it be...POTJ? Toss in a CW action launcher!

The vintage 3-packs are under $10 at Target and NO ONE TOLD ME.  ??? Heh. Haven't been Target lately...because they were barren last time I went.

The Legacy Arena packs are like $8 something...still higher than the two sales they had on them the last two years.

So we'll be seeing the same 7 figures from now until 2013...especially Darth Sidious.

Hope there's some revision cases.

I noticed Ithorian bounty hunter. A nod to the kids of decades ago who used Kenner's Hammerhead as a baddie because he came with a bad guy gun.  ;) Or maybe a big thumbing of the nose to the EU's pacifist take on the species.

Or probably just reusing character models.  :P

It's mind boggling too because these were figures that were considered mega-crappy back when they were originally released... I mean, did ANYBODY buy that Maul for any reason other than the cool metal double saber it came with? I think that Vader originally came with a cool Cloud City platform piece. Now you get a die and a card.

Yeah, strangely though that Vader appears to be in  A NEW HOPE costume, not the ESB version.

I-Mid-Size ships...  Same as MH and Deluxe...  a whole lot of old, and better choices available but skipped over (Clone Cannon and Jedi Speeders would've been better than the AT-AP or a V-19).

I'm gonna Hasbro some credit there. Clone vehicles seem to do fairly well (attack shuttles and remote control tanks aside). The AT-AP and V-19 are good sellers, at least around these parts. Never saw much of the swamp speeder (though that may be due to being undershipped).

The ships that linger are usually Seperatists and Jedi Fighters (which often overship).

Of course, I can't give them credit for tooling up new items that never seem to arrive in stores, like that Mandalorian transport. Or for dusting off and reissuing ROTS Obi-Wan's starfighter...a vehicle that was shipped for some 3 years.

I bought and opened the new Darth Maul vintage figure today and pretty much hate it.  The neck is sculpted leaning forward too much,

Seems to be more common these days, like the Rebel Commando. Maybe it's a realistic posture for actual people, but I'd rather have the heroic default of a straight neck.
