The Vintage Collection / Re: Who Wants More Ewoks?
« on: October 9, 2012, 07:40 PM »
Aside from the catapult, a Victory celebration drummer with drum set with removable imperial helmets....because really, I just want a source of imperial helmets. 8)

I'm tired of the 30th anniversary era molds they keep using and I don't own half the figures they've made using them.

Throw in some recolored woklings with the single carded Ewoks, too...since they are just unarticulated accessories.

The POTJ is odd because it looks based on earlier comm-tech Stormtrooper, but doesn't have knee joints or ball jointed shoulders.  He's really only good for one pose, macronocular looking.

The Evolutions mold is okay, except the lack of waist joint.

Well, it seems there's only a few thousand people on the whole planet.  ;)

Do they make the AAT's too big. Or maybe I try to make my peace with under scaled toys only to have that challenged by other media. I wish they'd updated the toy more, hatch and rear ramp...never happen. more likely they'll make a new tinyer one.

Skiff is the only one I'd go out of my way to buy. One of the biggest let downs ever was Kenner not making it sooner, so it was super rare and I never had one (without it, the skiff guards hung out on mini rigs...just didn't cut it). And then over a decade later to get POTF2 version (oddly made an exclusive, despite apparent fan  demand at the time)...only to learn how underwhelming the vehicle was.

They said they'd never do modular Death Star sets. All or nothing. I believe them on that.

The escape pod could be neat. Never got the last one, seemed too small and I wasn't collecting then.

Didn't they mold the geonosian cannon 10 years ago and never released it?

:( Wow. Seems like the B5 cast suffered more premature deaths than any Trek series has. The actors who played the doctor and G'Kar also passed away in the last decade.

I see why they went with last week's episode to open the season.

This was Ahsoka/Lux 'shipper stuff...maybe they should've called it "Looking For Love in Onderon Places"

The Fear is a Malleable Weapon opening moral...was barely touched upon. And if the Jedi Council almost seems ready to accept Onderon's government siding with the CIS, then why are they even fighting this war? If the CIS wasn't the aggressor, there'd be no war?

Adi Gallia visible during the council scene. Ha.

Onderon seems to be another backwater planet with an old timey capital city. Gives me the impression that a lot of habitable worlds have the population of the average U.S. state at most. (Mon Calamari, Zygerria, Ryloth...none of them seemed developed or abuntandly populous.)

I thought goblins were smaller than Orcs.

Why are the dwarf/hobbit two packs cheaper than the Gandalf/Bolg one? HEIGHT DISCRIMINATION!

Revival had good argument

They have finally ended the cliché of siths defeating Jedi

I am not sure the killed girl is Adi Gallia (she deads in ROTS)

That's the similar looking character Stass Allie in ROTS. Originally they were supposed to be the same character, but they had changed actresses in Attack of the Clones and decided to rename minor background Jedi from The Phantom Menace. So we have Adi Gallia and Stass Allie.  Stass Allie is said to be Adi Gallia's cousin. Adi Gallia already had a death in the Expanded Universe.

Long gloves, the ribbed ascot and running around shirtless...what's goofy about that?  ;)

(Minor spoiler: based on  previews he changes his attire later in the season...)

Is the stabbing in the back with a lightsaber played out yet? Grievous, Ventress and Maul...hmmm not sure Dooku has done it. Did Anakin? Maybe. Ahsoka did, save Tarkin.

The Brothers McMaullen really botched that up. Maul limp away supported by his now one armed brothers.

Adi Gallia another Jedi Master killed by the not-even-that-well-trained, Jedi suck.

Is that the first time we've seen Palpatine in his ROTS opening robe?

Hondo's back...yay...those flying saucers never meshed with weequay in my mind.

Blue Snaggletooth. Awesome. Had the silver boots.

I guess the confusing sith with Jedi is a hint of the galaxy having an increasingly negative view of the Jedi?

Didn't expect to open with a one shot (ableit one connected to last season's finale). Next week Onderan...which is likely an arc.

I wish light/sound R2's dome could move...not 360 degrees, but just enough.

No Snags here, just as well...still don't want to pay $18 for one. Passed on the Maul set...if Maul had  swivel wrists and Savage his lightsaber...might have bit the bullet.

Same Target that hasn't gotten any new carded figures since March as far as I can tell.

Saw DREDD this weekend. It was pretty good for what it is. Limited budget compared to the 90's version, so much less futuristic, but still conveys a distopian future decently. More claustrophobic, I guess you could say. Very violent.  DREDD is lacking in the satire department. That was a significant part of the comics that I read...I admit, I haven't read that many recent ones, though. Urban makes a decent Dredd....though I had to get used to his voice, guess Stallone left an impression on me.

Are we that starved for new product?

So the local drug deal starts selling draino. We are so hooked that we need to buy the draino because its new and that makes us feel good that we bought something new! I think if Hasbro put a can of dog **** on the shelf, label it Star Wars and charged $40, we would buy it because it's NEW.

Not only that, a few website people would post articles online saying how it was good for the hobby/toy line/kids.  ;)

Hey, just wanted to thank you again for this information.

You are welcome! I just assumed they were old news in collecting circles.

The seller sent them in a padded envelope all the way from China but they arrived safely so no complaints here.

I've never had a problem with the stuff I've gotten from China being damaged. Sometimes the content are not  right. I wound up getting a few GI JOE figures free once because they seller sent me the wrong ones and didn't have the others, offered a total refund.  They seem to want to avoid negative feedback.
