I Then they just need some good footsoldier hardware and you've got yourself an Imperial Soldier ready to roll into battle (safely behind Stormtroopers because they're pussies, of course).

Yet, taller and stronger looking (at least going by jackoftradze's photo).

Anyway, if some guys were cloned to fight and die for the Empire, wouldn't you let them go in first?  ;)

Oh, yeah, the Hoth Attack/Defense sets are $35 again (or did they ever bo back up?), of course, locally all I see are Defense sets.

LOL.

My brother and I both got Kenner Lando just before seeing ESB, so he must've been cool to us at the time.

I only have the comic pack version of VOTC Lando.

POTF Disco Lando can never be topped. Ha! Muscle bound, cartoony faced and wearing bell bottoms.

Seems like they've never gotten his shirt color right.

hey Galactic Senators - ever heard of bodyguards? WTF? You people just stroll around town with no security? You deserve to be beaten!

Senator Amidala's has been targeted for death a dozen times. And she has probably had more people die protecting her than were on the first Death Star when it blew up.  :D

But she still strolls off without protection...that will be the death of her...wait, it was.

Three camps, with Original Trilogy favoritism.

Main Interests:
Aliens
troopers (empire, rebel, clone)
background characters
Bounty hunters

Secondary:
Concept art figures
EU characters from perquel/OT timeframe
Pilots (Not a ship collector, so...)
Seperatist/Droid army
Main heroes/villains

Less interested:
Jedi
Sith
EU characters from 1000 years before ANH or far after ROTJ
Astromech droids

There's exceptions, but I'm just prefer the average joe with a gun over the destined sword wielding champions. Also, astromechs don't do much...I mean for $7 or $8...I want something poseable that can hold stuff.

The CDC Dr. Jenner was a downer. Also, I find it amusing had the survivors been one day later, they'd have found smoldering rubble. But everyone got a hot shower!

Also, Doc didn't know if it was a virus or what. Okaaay...I think they'd be able to establish more what it wasn't at least.

The brain scan thing was neat.

To add to the "not picking up weapons" thing,  the doctor noting that some assault rifles were left around...

Seems to me they need to consolidate some vehicles...too many for what, 11 people now.

We are left with two mysteries (beyond the virus), the helicopter in Atlanta and what the doctor told him.

I found Rebel Commando and Wooof at Wal-Mart for $7, then found them again at Target for $6. So I will be returning a Wooof to Wal-mart. I don't know why only those guys were left. Not like one of each, either. Target had three Klaatu and four commandos...Ackbar and R2-D2 bartender really are more popular than them? REALLY?

I dislike the Commando's hunched neck, they took a page from 1996 and the Tusken Raider who liked to stare at the ground. Also, I accidently puched a hole through his trenchcoat with the packback peg. Sucks that his head isn't swappable with hoth rebels, not without carving or whatever.

Wooof is  pretty awesome.

I think the military still has flamethrowers to use, they just haven't been seen in use since Vietnam I'd assume.  I assume they have access to something though.

Flamethrowers are good for clearing out a tight-quarters area...  Just spraying and praying with them, they're less effective.

I guess they've been largely replaced by incindiery weapons like the M202 "Flash" (which I'm not real familiar with really, other than it's more a rocket launcher).

I have a feeling traditional throwers are still available in surplus though.

Possibly. But I learned that the military doesn't use them in the field as weapons from hanging around GI JOE message boards where some know-it-alls about the real military occassionaly chime in. Of course, there were like 4 different flame thrower characters on the 80's-90's GI JOE team, to heck with miltiary reality.

I liked Robonino's partner. One of the better new alien designs.

I like how they admit that Padme's elaborate hairstyles are just wigs.

The ending...what was up with that? I'm starting to think Palpatine might be a bad guy.  :P

They really need to make the Coruscant robot cops as figures. Not that they'll have anyone to protect besides Padme.

I'd like to know how Kamino went from a "lost" world outside the Republic, to having a place on the senate. "Oh, yeah, we grew the clones here. And now they are part of the Republic. THIS IS NOT SUSPICIOUS TO ANYONE."

Bom looks good, see he has the obligatory holster.

Weequay I'll hold judgement on until final product.

Rebel Trooper, I fear, as others do, he'll be too tall. *crosses fingers*

Barriss Offee looks okay. This is her first action figure. Yes, something was released years ago, but I'm pretty sure it was a 3 3/4" statue.

Evazan might turn out well...heck, couldn't be worse than the old version.

Bastilla Shan...no idea who that is...reserve judgement on...even though no EU character should be made before Mosep. Or Solomahal for that matter. It's okay if they release Ms. Shan before Reegesk and Tzizvvt, but one them should be in the wave immediately after her.

VIVA MIXED WAVES, btw. No a Solo or Kenobi or Skywalker in sight. (I'm daydreaming, they'll appear! EN MASSE.)

The POwer Team Elite stuff is mind-numbing...  It's usually lacking paint applications, and it's usually very simplistic (and cuts corners by making incredibly thin walls and such).  But it's really some of the cooler stuff from a collector's POV.  It sells well, but I wonder who's buying it sometimes.  Is it adults buying it for GI Joes and stuff?  Just by what goes fastest with it, I sometimes just assume it's the adults.

Just adults? I don't think so. It sells out at the local Big Lots for the most part (Unless they ship a lot back?). I think you have  1:18th military people, who buy it to customize. Then there's 3 3/4" Joe fans who do the same but aren't realism junkies. And there is, and has been, a market for lower cost military toys aimed at kids and their parents, despite all the licensed properties out there (look at TRU's generically boxed army toys section). It's not a huge market, which is why Power Team and the Chap Mei Soldier Force aren't at major retailers regularly (and why Hasbro's venerable GI JOE is destined to be a b-list property unless it has a popular media support), but it's enough that some companies keep going with it.

I forgot about Chap Mei and their lines, they do 3 3/4" playset stuff, but their stuff is hard to find in the USA. Just bits here and there at TRU and BIG LOTS.

1692
The playsets of the past 15 years have been half-hearted to be kind. Some because they were movie-release cash grabs and shoehorned into a specific price point.

The only 3 3/4" playsets worth a darn in the past 10 years were vintage GI JOE reissues or Power Team Elite, a 3 3/4" military line found seasonaly at Big Lots and JC Penny online.

The US military doesn't use flamethrowers, not since the 60's, probably. I'd assume they'd kill a lot of zombies and do a lot of collatoral destruction in the process, possibly increasing chaos and hastening the end of civilization (I'm thinking of that Riegn of Fire movie where the dragons destroy human civilization).

There's remote enough island where people could survive...Kergulen wouldn't have much to worry about. or St. Helena or Mackinac Island  :P. That's assuming the elements were there for them to survive. Though, it depends on the nature of the contagion. If everyone who dies come back, you gotta know that and take appropriate steps.

I was gonna pick-up Shaak-Ti vs. Geonosian, but the dislike her eyes and one side of her chin was always mangled from the molding process or whatever.

I wanted the Obi-Wan/Super Battle Droid pack for the droid, since I'd be willing bet money the AOTC wave Super Battle Droid is the same one they've been reshipping in Legends for 3 years.

But they aren't $10 anymore, IIRC. I haven't been to Target in weeks.

In a perfect world, the next exclusives like this would be Battle of Sarlacc Pit (Carkoon?) 2-packs. Instead, repacked figures in vintage 3-pack packaging.

I watched the CDC arrival parts twice, there's a rifle on the sandbags (plus another .50 caliber heavy mg, a heavy item that would take time to move and transport.)

Tanks are slow and use a lot of fuel. Besides, who'd have experience operating one?

But why the "Vatos" in said episode were intent on the bag of guns that'd been there a day but hadn't got the .50 caliber mg from the sandbagged position  that was likely there for weeks is questionable, especially with operational cars and strong guys who could load it up fairly fast.
