Is this a national thing?

I stopped by a store this morning and they had absolutely no signage or any kind of advertising up for this deal. The one employee I asked claimed to have no idea what I was talking about.

Yes, I found the info at the 'Scum (though it was also sent via email since I signed up for the rewards program thing)

If you can find a price check scanner, they sometimes list a sale under the price...the ones today did. And stupidly, the store DID NOT have anything on the aisles posted about "the buy one get one 50%" sale.

The online store has the deals, too. I checked there before going today.  I only bought 2 figures, one clone wars and one legends, and they rang up as part of that get one 50% sale not the 2 for $12.99 sale. Wow, I got them for a penny less than i would have yesterday.  :P

Today only, TRU has buy one get one 50% off on all Star Wars figures, playsets and accessories.

Going by the online shop that includes the Trench Run set, Attack on the Coronet, Y-Wing (ROTJ), Slave 1, The video game figure sets, attack shuttle, deluxe figures, blu ray figure packs, regular vehicles...

Free shipping over for purchases over $49, too.

"Slaves of the Rebulic" sort of answered my question, the Zygerians enslave others because they have a sadistic culture and beings like the Hutts want slaves mainly for amusement/pleasure, not so much hard labor.

Spoilers ahead:

Monkey lizard knife fight.

A cameo of the monocled Hutt.

The winged monsters are too zillo-beastly for me, kind of distracting.

A suicide in a kid's show.  :o

It seems aliens are 70%  more likely to be enslaved if they have tails growing from their heads (lekku)...Kit Fisto's people better watch out!

Totally failed rescue, totally failed escape nods to ROTJ.

Poor Rex not a catching a break. Tough year for him...which is worse, because it's like two years to him compared to normal humans.

Anakin choking a beyotch..can we say that here? I mean she was. Alluring, though, in her long-necked, big eared way. No spikes on her jaw...gender differences, I guess.

Innocent civilians casually murdered while Kenobi helplessly watches.

And stuff that'll never see toy form.  :(

2 day sale at TRU, spend $35 or more on Star Wars and get a free Saga Legends figure.

Also, the ad says the Vintage Y-Wing is $'s more than that normally?

I thought the red and blue Humvees/LB's were made specifically for online retailers like Smalljoes to sell to Joe folks for "Cobra" stuff?  I could be wrong on that...  For some reason I was thinking that SJ had something up about them getting those specifically from the manufacturer that way.

There was a different colored Warthog too I thought, or maybe that was rumored and didn't happen?  It'd look sweet in all black as like Wild Weasel's squad or something, haha.

Maybe about the little birds (at least as far as US distribution went), but I do remember seeing the SWAT Humvee on the planogram picture.

Yeah, that black or blue warthog was for Marauder Gun Runners store and never happened, IIRC.

Hey, Rite Aid close to my work still has Clone Trooper Denal and a Saga C-3PO/ ewok throne! I think they are $10.99 each or something insane like that.

Funny side note, on more than one occassion I've noticed HALO building set packages in a nearby trash reciptical with Rite Aid price stickers on them, meaning some kid actually paid drug store prices for that stuff. But given the local shopping alternatives, there's nothing else within walking (bike riding?) distance that even carries the stuff.

On a sick side note,  I also felt that throwing away cool toy packaging was a waste.  :P Yeah...crazy.  :o

More likely R2-D2 sabotaged him. There's never been any love lost between R2's and R5's.

I always wind up watching a little bit of any of them when I surf by, if only to nitpick.  :D

Many viewings and years later, I still have no idea what Jar Jar Binks says to Anakin when they are in the Coruscant air speeder.

in ROTS, Yoda is sitting right there in view when Mas Amedda contacts Bail Organa about the senate session...either Mas Amedda received audio only or he's an idiot. They could've just caught the two Jedi when they landed.

How does Kenobi knows to call Palpatine "the Emperor" when the Empire was just being declared at that time on Coruscant and Kenobi is on Mustafar?

Apparently Star Wars figures are buy one get one free at Walgreens. I haven't been into a Walgreens in years.

Yet another Toys R Us 2 for $12.99 sale on figures (Star Wars, GI JOE, Marvel, Captain America, Spiderman), doesn't sound like it includes vintage, though.

Their Littlebird chopper is on par with BBI's as well.

They made police and fire versions that IIRC, were never available at U.S. retail, just online. One had doors!

They made a SWAT humvee, which I'd hoped they would reissue...seems like Big Lots had a picture planogram posted with it on it, but the store got just military ones.

Their Blackhawk is underscaled but nice IMO.

There was a olive green version once. I like the copter but hate that the two middle seats aren't accessible (they seem to be in the knock-off that TRU carried a year or two ago).

They make a great Warthog too which is difficult to get.  Very Wild Weasel-ish.

That set or one of the jets include a flight ground crewman figure not available elsewhere. There were also some civilian figures at some point and some "mountain" camo versions of the delta force guys. Though the figures are so-so, great articulation but sometimes they break right out of the box. It would be nice if the Chinese army guys were issued over here, even as "enemies". LOL.

The jeep with trailer is out here. If it were a desert version, I'd talk myself into it (since I have the normal one already, no trailer).

I liked when the battle droid rubbed his hand over his head (like stroking back hair) as he broke the bad news to the slaver guy. It was totally goofy.

Not sure why they are deploying commando droids as biker riders and tank operators, seems like a waste.

Anyone else a tad annoyed the BARC speeder sidercars were different than the toy version. I'm sure we can expect an updated version not soon... :P

Sniper droideka? Never seen those before.

Obi-Wan can force-crush droids like that...he must hold back a lot. He's been held back a lot, this is like his first major role all season.

In a galaxy of easily mass produced droids, how are slaves economical?

I hit two K-Marts and TRU and found nothing worth getting for their sales. Yay! My hobby isn't collecting, it's going to stores walking to the toy aisle and not buying anything. Good exercise...horrible waste of gasoline, though.  :P

Actually saw some recent for $24 at a Wal-Mart. I think. Never owned one, but space is an issue.

Collect All 92! / Re: Chief Chirpa
« on: November 20, 2011, 11:32 PM »
It was funny, since there were only two Ewok figures released in 1983, even though he was the chief, they used Chirpas on the Ewok Village box as generic litter bearers for C-3PO's throne and in the elevator. Can't think of any other time a character was used like that on vintage package photos.

He was an okay toy. But the first two Ewoks released had a bone staff and a shaman staff, not exactly something you'd take on the Empire with.
