$9.99.

Years ago, this same Meijer is one of two stores I saw that had the last retail comic book wave, too. If only I'd known how scarce they'd turn out to be.

As a chain, they aren't all equal. This one had PoC/30th GI JOE releases, the store closer to me has only had Rise of Cobra figures since...well...that movie came out. Years ago, the stores used to seem to only get one or two waves of some things.

Ebay.

Ebay's recent categories/search changes bug the hell out of me. I can't find the old Star Wars categories, are they gone for good? Do I have look under TV and movie action figures and click on seperate Star Wars movies? How do I refine the search from that without using the stupid sidebar boxes.  >:(

They've over the years taken a lot of the fun out of the site in order to make themselves over into a online etailer instead of the world's largest online yard sale/flea market.  This fall they'll require that sellers  upload  pictures which must meet Ebay's guidelines.   Maybe sounds nice...better looking photos? But will most non-professional sellers even bother to list items then with that extra hassle? You rarely get good deals from the pros, you get them from casual users, the amateurs. Bah!

Found Malgus, Navy Commander and Hoth Luke at a Meijer. Funny, I'd given up looking for new stuff. I was there looking to see if that Meijer out GI JOE Retaliation stuff early.

"Just show the characters fans go crazy for Maul and Mandalorians."

In reality, those episodes will air in March of 2013.

Yeah, no Target restock around here since that 50% coupon sale.

If I even found new figures I'd be tempted to scalp them on ebay. I mean, distribution has turned every collector into a potential scalper...even it's just for 'trading'...we'd be fools to pass up some figures. In the past scalping was mostly about getting things first and selling them to the impatient. Now it's about getting things at all and selling them to the desperate.

Not that I'm gonna scalp. Because I never see anything new, nor do I want to turn the last toy line I collect into a desperate gasp for greed.

I'm sure the people who missed them the first time around will love that these have variations, meaning some completists will competing with them for "reissued" figures.

Though, beedy eyes...meh. Make a real change, like hair color.

I went to K-mart over the weekend and found Cloud Car Pilot and 4 sandtroopers.

Oh, and a clone wars heavy assualt battle droid from like 3 years ago. Scanned at $9.19. Ha!

I'm kinda behind on stuff but saw the link below last week or so that showed some cancelled POC toxic playset type deal...

The design artwork was from 1990, a cancelled Eco-Warriors playset. They made the smaller Toxo-Lab set in 1992 instead.

I'm pretty sure it's brown in the movie.  ;)

Variant of figures that will probably be tough finds? NOW HOW SOON WILL YOU QUIT?

Found two of the Seperatist speeder with battle droid at Marshalls for $9.99 each. I debated getting one but passed.  Usually the figure is the make or break of the deluxe line, and that droid, while having knees, still kind so-so for that price.

After the super-articulated VOTC Bespin Luke the only place left to go for that version of Luke was backwards.  :P

With emerging markets thing still begs the question. Why new tooling? Why not 90's/early 2000's stuff? The molds still exist...or do they? 2-1B's does!

IIRC, someone in the Philipines who got the dropship said the cockpit is a very tight squeeze.

Yeah, the problem with some of these is that size-wise they seem inplausible even for a galaxy far, far away. But its a chore coming up with new designs to fit the price point that aren't just more BARCs, speeder bikes and STAPs.

What I disliked most about the Scout Speeder? Putting a figure on the back makes the front tip up off the ground.

I got mine during Target's glitch last year for $4 something.
