LOL

skid marks?

Don't act like you don't know what I'm talkin' about.  :P

7907
I'm down.

It's to keep the pee-stains, skidmarks, and poop-stench from forming directly on your jeans.

So, if you're really careful about shaking and wiping - I guess you'll be just fine.

Oh, and be extra careful around your zipper.

7909
oh well, there's always next year :)

Not really true this time around...  :(

Agreed to all points above.  That Veers is one of the worst figures of the modern line.

Of these, the one I'd like resculpted the most would be bib fortuna - but I'd take all of these - although I don't think another vader sculpt is necessary given the VOTC one coming out - which is also what leads me to think these will be repacks - two new vader sculpts at essentially the same time seems like a bit much.

That, and I wouldn't put anything past Hasbro at this point.  If they're redone to the caliber of the Skiff Lando, Dengar, General Lando etc... resculpt - I'm all for it.

Wow..WAP isn't opening and now I'm getting timed out logging in.

Also...It says "The forum is being moved to another server. Back soon."

So...What's your take on this?

The WAP thread has been having some trouble - but was working fine for me today.

As for the new server thing - I assume it means just that - they're changing servers - probably as part of working out the bugs.

What happened?  Everyone around here just stop watching the playoffs?

I guess that was bound to happen as teams are eliminated... but I've still got lots to be excited about.  :)

Original Trilogy Collection / New Swami Rumors - more repacks???
« on: April 30, 2004, 11:19 PM »
The front page (via GalacticHunter) is reporting that the Swami has now said to look out for the possibility of:

Bib Fortuna
General Veers
Gammorean Guard
Hoth Vader

These all scream re-pack...

I'm starting to think there might not be any more new figures this year - of course, repacks are easy and they could still release new figures on top of this...

If they were new sculpts - I'd be cool with all of these except another vader....

Sad - but not really a suprise...

These reality t.v. shows are going downhill so fast...

I've been saying for a while now that we're only a few years removed from FOX airing a hit reality show called "Vagina Auction" in which men will simply bid for sex.

And don't worry ladies - "Penis Auction" will air the following season.

But now with "Baby Auction" being on the air - we're closer than I thought - and maybe even further down the slipery slope.

Network execs are generally shameless - auctioning off a baby is merely par for the course for most of these folks.

7915
This should not be aired.  It's just more liberal anti-war/anti-Bush messages.

Nah, if the same program were airing on FOX News, you'd be singing it's praises and touting it as a great tribute to our fallen heroes - who deserve a tribute - but actually talking about these folks paints a bad picture for the President - so this Republican mogule of the liberal media decided to not air it.

But whatever - I too can see where this is headed - I'll be leaving the thread from here on out.

7916
Fair enough.  And I'll keep from getting heated by just saying that I think I covered it above.  The war was controversial to begin with - and those folks (along with about 12,000 others) are dead because of it.

And boycotting a program that was a tribute because some republican television broadcasting guy thinks it's political - is a political move in and of itself.

There's just no getting around it, it's politicized no matter how you slice it - that's all I'm saying.

7917

It's my way of showing repsect for those who lost people. I won't let them become political pawns, especialy for publicity.

Kevin

They also shouldn't be swept under the rug because it would be bad for Bush.  How is pretending they aren't dead making them less of a political pawn?  They died in a controversial war and one raging during the election season.  I don't think there is any way around it - from BOTH sides of the debate.  Wanting to talk about it or not wanting to talk about it is in some way good or bad for some political party.

And that's the real shame here.

I'm cinemaddicted.  :-\

Isn't this some sort of Trademark or Copyright infringement?

I don't know.

People think it's easy to be a cinemaddict, but they don't realize just how DVDifficult a life it really is.  There are times when you go on a binge, spending $140 at Deep Discount, but then there are the horrible, horrible withdrawals you go through during the slow weeks.  It's awful.

It's become the most important thing in my life--watching my DVDs on my 27" Sanyo, bought from Wal-Mart, through my PlayStation 2--probably the greatest DVD player ever created.  I'm a junkie.  It's all I do all day--I'm just addicted to cinema.  A cinemaddict.  My cinemaddiction now comes before everything--friends, family, work--I don't even have a real job.  It's even affected my personal hygiene.  The last time I bathed myself was back in DVDecember, the day when Pirates of the Caribbean was released.  That was an important DVDay--and you better believe that I looked and smelled great as I strolled into Best Buy as soon as they opened to get my fix for the DVDay.

I'm the black sheep of my family.  I've shamed my friends.  I can't look anyone in the eye anymore.  They gave me this videotape to watch--it was an over-dubbing of that old public service announcement--"This is your brain.  This is your brain on cinema."  I watched it once, and threw it out, because it wasn't a DVD.  They put a lot of work into having it made, and I threw the damn thing away.

I've tried everything to rid myself of this horrible, horrible DVDisease--12 step programs, cold turkey.  I've even checked myself into DVDetox centers.  Nothing seems to work.

I've heard my friends and family talking a few times--I think they might be planning an intervention once I hit 400 discs.

People think it's easy, being a cinemaddict, but take it from me:  I wish to God that I had never started down this slippery, slippery slope.

The only thing that can possibly make it worse, is being a cinema addict with horrible taste in films and an unbelievably ****** collection of crappy titles.

picked this up today (along with big fish)

even though i bought the universal stuff when it was released a few years ago, i just had to get this. not bad - $60 in best buy gets you 14 classic b&w flicks and 3 busts.

I also had to bite the bullet and shell out the 60$ for it...  way too nice a set to pass on.  My only gripe is that it's basically a Van Helsing commercial which taints it a bit for me...  But still a nice set - and the franekstein bust is terrific.

Big Fish is a movie the wife and I always wanted to check out when it was in theatres, but missed out on that.  We are hoping to rent it sometime this weekend to see how it is, and maybe buy it if we enjoy it.  It looked pretty good from the previews and comments I have seen on it.

It's absolutely fantastic.  Picked it up on Tuesday...

And this Tuesday:

Probably the first musical I'll have ever bought.
