I honestly don't mind DBB and LJ as people, but neither one is fit to mod there.  I don't know that anyone can manage that 3-ring fiasco, plus the sideshow too.

That's a more fair assessment.  I don't think anyone around here is honestly disliking people for who they are (except maybe one or two...) but saying that time and time again the wrong people are picked to run the show over there.

Hey, don't blame the prequels on me.
After he made all the money with the whole Star Wars thing, it kind of changed him. When I knew him in college, we were all about making a classic with models and puppets.

Unfortunately, I think all the glue fumes got to him.  ;D

(The joke was that you weren't around anymore to steal ideas from so he had to think of the prequels on his own - which is why they aren't very good)   ;)

Wait Josh, I thought you told me that it was you that came up with the idea for Star Wars and Lucas stole it.

Hence the crappy prequels.

I've seen lots of instances where a week or so later they change stats - most often with sacks and who is credited with them.  The Tampa papers are always running little footnotes about so-and-so's stats being changed.

Just got back from seeing The Machinist.  I liked it a whole lot.

Where did you buy Zatoichi?  I was looking for it locally and couldn't find it anywhere...

Man... I saw this thread's new title and was gonna come in here and ask what everyone thought of Valor Vs. Venom...  >:(

LJ has inched dangerously close to blatant racism in her remarks - and been called out for it.

Hmmm. Haven't seen any evidence of this myself. I do remember a big hubbub about her use of an ambiguous Hitler quote or something at her school, but, to me that was all about stirring the pot at her school, the ethics, the moral dilemmas, etc. (the usual stuff you go through in college), and not hatred. However, everyone and anyone can be offended easily by anything or everything, so that thread seemed to devolve quickly. I think if she were really showing and posting her hatred, I don't think she'd still be around. I think the easily-offended PC crowd is the minority.

Yeah - but that wasn't the first time.

Despite my repuation, I'm not a guy who cares what people say or and I'm not really into all that PC stuff that much, and I'm certainly not easily-offended.  But defending anything said by Hitler because it could be good in another context was a bit much IMO.  Either way, it probably won't come up again.

Overall, though, LJ and DBB seem to me to have always been respectful of others, and even if it means more overall posts, that's a step in the right direction.

DBB sure, but time and time again LJ has inched dangerously close to blatant racism in her remarks - and been called out for it.

BTW - the consensus is roughly 99% sure that the picture IS her.

I went ahead and made an order at the Deep Discount DVD sale...

Ordered:

Jane Austen the COmplete Collection Boxed Set (for the girlfriend)
Ju-On
1984
Beverly Hills Cop II
Beverly Hills Cop III
Fire in the Sky
The Atomic Cafe

Just around 80$ total - not bad at all.

Age is probably a huge factor too.

I'm just hoping I find the new stuff before they fix the error so I can argue my way down to $4.77

And as far as "substance," I don't think you should actually expect to find much of it on any toy-collecting forums. Like I said before, RS is pretty entertaining because of its geek-fest posting, and if they could get rid of the disrespectful dimwits that post there, it'd be even more so.

There's lack of substance, then there's lack of substance.  We're not talking about a dissertation on nuclear physics versus a tirade about the price of the VOTC.  We're talking about the difference between a thread on the Incredibles or some generic movie and what you liked about it versus a bunch of posts soley comprised of :) 's and !!!!!!!!'s.

Some people treat it like a chat room where anything that flutters into your head must be posted.

Just saw that I clinched a playoff spot!  Looks like I can give the guys a rest for the remainder of the season.  ;)
