The Original Trilogy / Re: Luke's Bespin "Fatigues"
« on: June 7, 2014, 11:14 PM »
But what about the boots. Think those are regulation or were just part of it because he was on Hoth first?  If this had been a non "remote" walking around situation say I the fleet.. Would it be boots like Solo or Capt Antilles wears?

In the interest of "research" I snagged the Luke from ebay, if it gets here soon enough, I will post some pics.  I have several Bare Armed Storm Shadow figs over the last few years, I will see if I can do some side by side comparisons.

I did like the swappable heads from the OTC version though.   Also should there be Peg holes in the Handstand Hands?

I ordered my set, I'm more disappointed that the classic deco Flint is not available.

This is most likely the last of the retail Joes for the foreseeable future.

The mood at the Joe Con was pretty low with Hasbro completely skipping the show.

The saddest part was the 12 in collectors and RAH era collectors basically looking at the 25th/ME guys and saying... "Yup, welcome to the club"...

I agree with JJ on this one, I give them props for the attempt, although the GI JOE Ninja style Articulation isn't my favorite either.  The OTC one was just such a little statue. It is interesting that we have swappable hands in this scale though.

I'm trying to tell from the Thor picture Scott posted but I have to squint through that Watermark, so it makes it difficult.

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: Black Series Rumors
« on: May 28, 2014, 04:23 PM »
Ok so using the Formula that Hasbro often employs (and basically mimicking the Endor Set) we can expect:

Vechicle/Large Piece
8 re-packed Figures or so.

For Jabba's Rancor that seems easy enough
Vehicle = Rancor
8 figures could be anybody but my thought/(wish):

Jedi Luke from the Saber building scene
C-3P0
Lando Skiff Disguise
Slave Leia
Gammorean Guard
Boba Fett
Bib Fortuna (if the mold still exists)
Rancor Keeper

For the Cantina SHOWDOWN, I am scratching my head what the Vehicle/Large Piece would be....
My thought:
Landspeeder?
8 Sandtroopers (cuz somebody at the Big-H loves Sandtroopers, the figures)

Kinda what I thought too  but it is sterile with no rank or unit designation and with ESB still having a Military Advisor on set, I did not know.

So technically Wedge and the boys would be wearing these as they walked around Home One etc....

Assuming Wedge survives the EU purge.

The Original Trilogy / Luke's Bespin "Fatigues"

Ok, I finally introduced my 5 year old son to Empire Strikes Back this morning.

It brought to mind a good question that I could not find an answer for on the first page of google...

Is Luke's Bespin Outfit a Rebel Uniform of some sort or it is just "Military Inspired".

Basically is this a Standard Alliance uniform and there are other officers/members (aka Wedge) out there somewhere in the fleet hanging out in this get up?

I'm going for sure.

I've got dinner plans with some different companies that are getting into the collector 3 3/4 figure market.

Other Toy Lines / Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. - by Boss Fight Studios
« on: March 13, 2014, 06:37 AM »
Check out www.bossfightstudio.com and like them on Facebook as well.

First up looks like a Greek Warrior (think more Achilles than 300)

These are the former Hasbro guys that did a bunch of Joe, Marvel universe and Star Wars figures that many of us have in our collections.

If I ever win one of those huge Lotteries my plan is to buy the Joe club license. Or may just Hasbro. You heard it here first.

Middle Earth / Re: The Hobbit - Toy Line
« on: October 18, 2013, 10:12 AM »
I agree all lines have it, I just guess I got numb to it with Star Wars and Joe (and Joe is notorious for showing awesome stuff and it never hitting the shelves).

I just need them to release the rest of the Dwarves before they fold up the tent or burn the bridge as it were.

Did anybody else see the Bridge Direct Facebook page?   I wonder if they calculated the nerd-rage from the fan boys when they got into the Action Figure business.

I don't know how to link it, but needles to say when they announced new product they got a lot of arm chair business experts telling the, to give up the license and that Lego is better....

Just managed to get an in-store order in for this one... hopefully when I get there they will magically have the Scanning Crew set on the shelves.  There's nothing more inconvenient for me than K-Mart exclusives.

There hasn't been a Kmart in this part of Texas for over a decade, so I feel you pain.
