Actually, it came from the YakFace forum years ago, long before Rebelscum even had a message board. I know because I'm the one who brought the idea to Philip when it became clear he needed a set of rules.

Whoops!  My apologies, then.

Yakface had boards. . .  Who knew?   :-\

Personally, I think it's a great guideline, especially if you're running an all-ages board populated by fans of a PG-rated franchise and feel the need to cover your ass.

Yeah, well, not me.  There's gotta be about a dozen or two other Star Wars-themed boards out there, all with the exact same mindset, that "hey, we might have a nine-year-old participating, don't want to corrupt his fragile little mind!" or "we don't want to be responsible for him getting in trouble", whatever.

Well, that's great for them.  But personally, I'm in my late twenties and I appreciate, for one, the small, little freedom of being able to say "ass" if I want to say "ass, or "bastard" when I want to say "bastard".

This is a tiny, tiny board, and we're all mostly in our mid-20's and 30's, and I think most of us should be able to handle the occasional PG-13-rated words just fine.  And, like I said, if not, there's a plethora of other boards out there which will be happy to turn ass into ***, dick into ****, and bastard into ******* for you. . .

Each Governor of Minnesota gets an Official Portrait which is then displayed in the Capital Building.  Here is The Body's...notice the black clouds, him standing taller than the Capital Building resting his hand on a statue of the the thinker.  I seriously laughed out loud, and I usually don't laugh out loud at stuff

That--that's real?

Oh my God, that's the most pompous (and unintentionally silly) thing I've seen since like an early '80's Styx album cover or something. . .

Good Lord. . .

Yeah, I think that's pretty much P----- W---'s credo, and his alone.

I like the idea that here, I'm allowed to use a naughty word or two every once in a while, that I've learned in the twenty-three years since I saw Empire in the theatre, at four and a half. . .

On second thought, you know, I think they should ban all of these PG-13 words, and we can just start talking like Fluke Starbucker:

Gosh!  Wow-ee!  Jeepers!  Golly-willikers!

Yeah, I saw that a few months ago.  Easily one of the best things ever committed to film since The Dukes of Hazzard.

You say that like it's a bad thing. . .

By the way, here's another site that's got some of these things, in case the above link is just too slow:

http://www.ibrecords.com/media/

They don't have as many, but that site seems to be much faster. . .

I posted this over at R-------m a few months ago, but, for whatever reason, it never went anywhere, so I'll give it another shot here:

(Beware:  Some language is unsafe for work, so you might want to turn the speakers down a little lower.)

Hey, kid!  I'm a computer!

Enjoy!

(Interesting Virex Trivia:  I've never seen a full episode of the G.I. Joe cartoon, or any of the movie, for that matter.  Same goes for Transformers.)   :o

(I still think these things are hilarious, though.)

Ahh. . .  Air Supply.  My parents listened to their greatest hits cassette when I was growing up, and I hated it.  Still do:

Earlier playing:  Gordon Lightfoot’s “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”, and some miscellaneous Grateful Dead, along with some (awful, awful) Guns N’ Roses “rarities”.  (All on the same MP3 disc.)

Now playing:  Not a damn thing.

Did I blink and miss it at Rubblebum?  I think I saw it for one second.  What happened?

It was "moved".  To the secret Administrative section.  Never to be seen again by mere mortals' eyes.

I am awaiting my doom. . .   :-X

(Not my fault what words their software allows and doesn't allow. . .)   :-\

Anyone else catch that?   :o

Well, you kind of beat me (off) to it, Scott, but I wanted to do a test of George Carlin's Seven Dirty Words (and look for a counterpart thread over at R-------m soon)

1. ****
2. Piss
3. ****
4. ****
5. (it worked!)
6. (it worked!)

Something goofy was going on with this smiley :-[ and the quote code

Yeah, I had some difficulty with that earlier today, with my "Pearl Jam hat" post in the pics to names thread.  Had no idea what I was doing wrong.  Strange.

For as a couple of you know, one of my dreams is to be a part of a Star Wars-themed message board for adults, where people can curse to their heart's desire, and I think that allowing us to use this naughty, naughty word here is potentially a big step in that direction.

Obligatory Gaywad Star Wars Fanboy Quote (#2 of the day!):

"You've just taken your first step, into a larger world. . ."

Thanks again, guys.

Ass.  (giggle)

Re: What's spinning?

Isn't it those excercise classes with the bikes that you ride?   ::)

Damn. . .  Now that's twice today that I've been rolleye-smileyed.  Anyone else?

(And, I know.  I hate that title.  It's just that--all the good ones were already taken. . .)

As for me, I'm in oldies mode right now.  Some Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, James Brown, The Platters & Drifters, Sam Cooke, etc.

Not exactly Pearl Jam and the like, I know.   :-[

Hell, dude, nothing wrong with that.  Besides, if it wasn't for those guys, most (if not all) of the bands we listen to today wouldn't be here!

Now playing:  the voices in my head
