I am amazed that the "How did Luke beat Vader?  argument is still going on.  I swear I talked about this 10 years ago on this site.  Luke beat Vader for a few reasons...

1.  He had to, and he believed in himself.  Ok.  This is cheesy, but has an underdog team ever beat a undefeated team?  Yes.  Things happen in real life that are unexplainable.

2.  It's a movie, not a video game or RPG.  Meaning, yes, Vader is technically more powerful, but Luke won.  (See reason #1)

3.  Luke was fighting for his life.  People can do amazing things under stress.  Again, look at real life, not games.

Ugh...I could go on and on...

Hey.  I'm wondering if someone out there could give me some help.  My 1st grade son came home th either day and stated that he wanted to make an App.  He went on Youtube to find out how and was disappointed by the complexity.  (I wanted to make a feature film with special effects in 4th grade, I understand his pain. =)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could recommend anything for him to work on that would lead him in the right direction...I don't even know what I am asking for here.

Simple programs to write?  Games that teach design?  I have no idea, and feel really clueless.---Mike

Is it just me, or does anyone else think this thing is very weak?  The colors are off, the belt bags are huge and look like they are brand new.  The belt looks like it just goes straight across...even the vintage figure had the belt at a slight angle that gives the character some swagger.  I just think it's terribly dull, and not very accurate.  I can't believe that they didn't nail Fett 100% as it seems it would be one of the top 5 purchases for most adult fans.

This figure seriously has me reconsidering collecting this line.

I get the impression that Disney will almost ignore the prequels.  They want to recapture the "magic" of the OT.  Granted, that's impossible, but they can dream can't they.  I mean, I always wanted to see a SW film directed by Spileberg, and since Abrams has no style of his own, and simply want to be SS, I'll get my wish.

I guess the danger of a new film is that there will only be time for top-tier, main characters.  With such a short window before the next film arrives, Hasbro might not have time to go deep with selection.

On the other hand, maybe they will just do one big release when the film hits (May) and one more round in the Fall for the holidays.  It would make for easy shopping.

From a rough count, I believe that there were over 70 basic figures in 2005.

You know what?  If it's a new dude then I don't care who it is, I want him.  Yeah, there's 100 figures I'd rather have first, but it beats another Vader or Obi-Wan.

Wow.  I have never had this happen before.  I just opened my realistic Clone Wars Obi-Wan and found out he had two left hands.  Has this happened to anyone else?  I have maybe 500 figures with wrist joints, the fact that this has never happened before is pretty amazing.

It always amuses me when people say a gun fight isn't realistic.  If you haven't been in one, how can you know what goes through one's mind under such duress?

Anyway, I like this show a lot, but I really don't see it going anywhere...the group finds a nice place...things get normal...zombies overrun place...group runs...group meets other group...initial distrust and tension...eventually they get along...the group finds a nice place...zombies overrun place.

Yeah, it is somewhat logical, but it makes fro dull fiction in the long run.

I feel the way I did last summer when we saw this stuff at Comic Con...

They look fine, but...there's noting "new" there.  Right now, I'll decide on these when I see them in the stores.

As someone pointed out, if it's been done at the 12 inch scale, 6 seems more than likely.  Speeder Bikes, Tauntaun, Dewback, Jabba.  Who knows.  I would be happier if the went the Sideshow route and offered environments.

Jesse, I'm at a point where I will pick and choose and well.  And for many, many years, I bought EVERYTHING!

I think the big issue really is character choice.  I feel that I already have great sculpts of most characters.  That being said, I can think of dozens from the films that I would still like to see in plastic.  Many more if they folded Clone Wars realistic figures into the line.  Rako Hardeen?  Oh yeah!

I think I had said this before, but if Hasbro called it quits on the 3.75 today, I'd be happy. Looked at all together, the collection has to be the most intricate and detailed versions of a fictional world ever produced in toy form.  Nothing else comes close.
