How odd that this is not being re-run 20 times. I forgot about this and did a search last night, and it is not being played in the next 2-3 weeks. Not the end of the world, but I feel bad if they were using test numbers from the ratings to see if they were going to make more.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Clone Wars General Battle Pack Thread
« on: August 4, 2011, 02:59 PM »
Found the rest of these today at Target. Two of the packs I was on the fence with changed my mind when I could see them in the packaging. The Grievous is new thanks to several JD members for that. I may have not even looked at this set if it were not from the posts here. Kix is a nice repaint from an episode I really like and Rex has the blast mark on his chest from where he was shot with the sniper! I almost dropped the box. I figured that was going to be the figure the dog ended up with. The defend Kamino pack has the 501st Fives and Echo, and what I thought was a repack of the yellow arc trooper from last year's set, but it is redone with a new Kama and paint job and named Blitz. I can't see if it says Blitz on the card yet or not. My son's birthday is in three weeks and they will not be openers until then. I also thought I would skip the assume in geonosis back until I saw the trooper is not a repack of waxed or boil but a more generic arf trooper, something I wanted but did not ever expect to see. The Obi-won has a great sand weathered look and would be a great piece for a landing at point rain display. The geonosian is just a nice sculpt. Yo can never have too many of them. The bane is cool, but that pack is the stinker of the bunch. I only got it because we have been waiting for that figure so long. So long story short don't dismiss all of these before you get a close look at them.

Finally tracked down a target that did he reset, but someone best me to the best stuff. I did manage to get the 20 dollar cad bane in disguise figure with free army builder space anakin and ahsoka. The holocron is a nice touch though.

I wish I had that kind of luck. Here I have rarely been able to find a final wave figure on a peg. I have switched to buying the last wave online. Tons of Visla, Flamethrower clones, and Obi-wons though.

Star Wars Universe / Re: Boba Fett: The Movie

This is one of those things that will never live up to expectations. Much like the clone wars, every Star Wars fan had his or her own image of what they were like, and seeing GL's idea hit the big screen led to widespread disappointment. Not that the story is bad, it just does not compare to 25 years of imagination. Just look at my kids generation. They actually like the prequel trilogy.
Fett is too iconic. Every child who grew up with that figure took him on countless adventures. Most of which would outshine anything that would make it to the screen. Don't get me wrong, I would be one of the first in line to see this, but I fear I would leave disappointed.
Now, a bounty hunters show where new and old bounty hunters dash around the universe looking for marks still has great appeal. That way each week you could compare the writers imagination to your own without having to risk further tarnishing the hundreds of thousands of different images of Fett we all created as kids.

I have season tickets in Tampa. I can give you a heads up on what hotels are within walking distance and what deals are available when you are ready to get a tan and have a world class hockey experience in the same weekend. Our new owner is putting 35 million into upgrades to the arena. From what I have seen so far it will be very nice. A new party deck will provide a breathtaking outdoor view of the downtown area, new seats, and a great atmosphere.

Hooray! Almost August, when the big box stores reset and we can easily find everything from he first couple waves before they over order on early stuff and never sell it through in time time to buy new sets in the spring.
This has to be one of he best clone wars surprises of the con. I am nervous about what tru is going to want to charge, but it looks awesome. Looks like one of the clones is a new repaint as well. Of course I can only imagine what it will feel like when I step on one of those spiders for the first time the kids always leave the sharpest toys where you can't see them.

I had to go back again because I missed the wampa the first time chasing r2. I have to admit it looks more like a dark crystal character than a wampa.
I guess mr. Lucas was not kidding when he did the special edition restoration that if he waited any longer the film would have been beyond repair. All it is missing, for anyone old enough, is the 4,3,2...at the beginning and I would have thought I was sitting on the gym floor. ;D
Great stuff.

Cool, but are they going to be embedded in the films like the extended pod racing scene in tpm, or will it just be 45 seconds of the scenes we have seen grainy versions of already on YouTube? I am assuming that they will just be the clips on a separate disc, but seeing how I have purchased the ot movies at lest five times already. It would be nice to have the original releases, special editions, and vault editions with all of the deleted scenes added in, for example the waterfall scene from tpm that was edited for time and the magically hey look what we found scenes for the bluray release scenes. I would like to own these, but you know the 3d versions will be coming out a year at a time, and then in a special even better bluray/ 3d box set. If they wanted me to pull the tigger on this I think they need to go even more all out. Because if lucasfilm has taught me anything, if you wait you can spend h same amount of money or less later on and get even more. Someone please post an argument to buy these that will stand up iron clad to my wife's response of " you do not need another copy of those movies"

With the Mando armor there will not be cleavage. That should be enough for one to be bought out of the back room at Target before it ever makes it to a peg, and then is never re ordered in favor of 24 arf troopers that were shipped from a warehouse overstock. Maybe she will shoot Lux and save us the trouble of finding him in a store as wel.

I can only hope this is a clever marketing ploy to create initial demand for this product. From the box we know that a sister set of TFU is coming. It is hard for me to imagine that they are not planning some shelf space for these in the next couple of months. I can promise one thing, I will not pay a penny over retail for this set. All the scalpers  can burn on this one.

Looks like the new hoth set is a 94 dollar exclusive at TRU. It is new on the website, but not in stock online as of this morning. It looks pretty awesome though.

Where is the Boba Fett on Speeder Bike and Obi-Wan and Attack Shuttle, though? I thought they were in Wave 1 of this assortment - or did things change after Toy Fair?

I'm guessing they changed the assortments.  It still doesn't account for how some of these are $18.99 and others are $19.99 at TRU.

The tru receipts give an insight into the prices. The 18.99 are sw deluxe fig & vehicle. 19.99 are sw rapid strike vehicle. My assumption is that it comes down to data entry, some of the sku's were given the old description/price and when they created a new label a price hike just HAD to go with it. I would assume that all of the remaining new vehicles will be 19.99. If they ever make it to the shelves.
