Hate to break everyone's bubble, but it is a set of Jabba's goons from the Special Edition Scene of Episode IV.

LEGO / Re: Lego 2012

Picked up the skiff today at Target. It is on a 1 dollar off "sale" so you can feel good about buying it. It rang up for 23.74. I also picked up the mini x wing planet set. Not bad for a little over 30 bucks. Two vehicles, 5 figures, a sarrlac, a planet, and stand. Hasbro could learn something from this. If figures are not going to have articulation anyway Lego is getting my dollar.

TV-9D9 / Re: The Clone Wars - Season Five Discussion Thread
« on: August 27, 2012, 04:44 PM »
I wonder what cartoon networks contract for the show looks like. Could they have an exit clause in the 5th season? I know there was a lot of talk on Lucasfilm's end that this would go at LEAST 5 seasons. I wonder if cartoon network saves money if the ratings fall to a certain level. If not I wonder if they could remain profitable just releasing webisodes on the main site and selling the DVDs each year?

This definitely piqued the interest of my son. I am sure we will give it a shot. If it turns into a 30 minute all star wars robot chicken 3D it may have its moments.

I would like to know what you heard, because what I have read gives us roughly the same amount of figures as last year, 19. I am hoping after the "the 3D movies will sell billions of figures" bonehead idea is re-worked, it may green light more of the clone wars figures they had previously designed.

And the kicks in the crotch from Hasbro continue. Anyone want to play a game and see who can take a picture with the most Obi-wons in it starting with this wave. I will be exempt of course because the 12 Anakins and numerous Obis that have kept me from seeing a new figure since wave one are clogging the pegs in all of my areas stores.

Saw Series 2 at Walmart today minus the X-wing. Someone must have bought a ton of them because there were 5 or 6 Cloud Cars and Chicken Walkers. Now I want an X-wing even more.

Too bad that won't stop a myriad of scalpers from scooping it up and selling it for an even more insane price on ebay.

I watched some stop motion video on youtube some kid made recently, there was the dropship! I've never seen one, how'd this kid get it?

His dad does not mind dropping 50 plus dollars for one on Amazon or EBay. Someday you will find one at Marshalls for nine bucks, whenever they find the thousands of them that must be lost in an Indiana Jones-esque Walmart warehouse. You will know it is time to start looking when the news headline is about the return of the Arc of the Covenant.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Wolf Pack Ultimate Gift Set
« on: August 16, 2012, 05:09 PM »
This is a great example how Hasbro can bring out a neat set at low cost to them that collectors want. The troopers look like they have phase II helmets, and although I don't need the Plo or Wolfe, I will be happy to buy a set or maybe two just for the troopers.

I just wanted to post something in here, because it is so depressing not hearing about anyone finding new stuff.

I wonder if the 19 or so figures for next year will be from previous seasons, or will they be of characters exclusive to season 5. It seems like the rug was pulled out from under the design team after they worked on what they saw from the first arc of season 4. There are way more than 19 characters from season 4 alone  that need to be made.

Hopefully celebration will help out with some more info.

JD Sports Forum! / Re: NHL Offseason

You guys are dead on. Fehr was hoping to use the loss of playoff revenue as leverage against the owners. It is the right call to force the negotiations to happen in September and October. I am normally a pro-labor guy, but when the "workers" are making more in a season than I do in my lifetime my sympathies are removed. I am a season ticket holder, (even though I live in the sun belt) and every game I miss is going squarely on the shoulders of Fehr. I used to love baseball, as much as I love hockey and could tell you the batting average of every player in the National League. After Fehr's work I now watch a handful of games a year. That same thing will happen to fans in the us to hockey, and without the Walmart of sports television, ESPN, promoting the game I worry about the future.
I will be shocked if the Coyotes do not end up in Quebec City by next season, and although they more than deserve to have a team back I think it is a shame that some markets fan bases are being judged in 10 years what other markets have had 100 to build.
Part of the negotiations may involve expansion north of the border. As much as I don't want the talent pool diluted any more, I can see the promise of more jobs for the players, and expansion fees for the owners is something that would be advantageous for both sides.
In any case this all seems like a needless waste, and in the end just hurts fans and the employees of the areas that will be unnecessarily out of work. The NHL and NHLPA need to just  #GETITDONE.

I hate hockey right now.

At least you have another reason to hate the Flyers. I remember being upset when they did this with Chris Gratton in the 90's, but that does not hold a candle to what you are going through....Damn Flyers.

Too limited appeal for mail-away...remember they acted like Sgt. Brick didn't do well enough, kinda doubt they'd have promoted some old librarian to general audiences as a mail-in.

It wasn't that long ago that we got Qui-Gon and Eopie as a mail away. I am sure that was more plastic than what we are getting for three times the price with Jocasta. And no matter what they are trying to say about Bric, they did have to produce more to fill all the orders.

I ordered a Jocasta, not because I am dying to have one, but because I like the possibility of having other figures that a portion of the collectors' world wants but the general public would never support.
