Picked up the two three packs, which are really outstanding values.  I prefer both the Snake Eyes and the Storm Shadow from the set to the single carded releases, and both of the three packs come with a ****load of weapons and accessories.  The Kamakura and the Beachhead are both great.

Passed on the Fang Boat, just because I can't stand that big honking gun off to the side.  I wish they'd included a regular cannon so you could switch it out, in that case it would have been an easy two for me.

I've gotten everything I want (more than that, actually; wish I hadn't bothered with the single carded Snake Eyes or Zartan) except a blue CC, but if I never get one, I won't really care.

Since I don't have any Dollar Generals around me, I guess I'm done with Joes until March of next year.  Way to go, Hasblow.  ::)

Busted out the new HISS and was surprised to find it's a new, or at least modified, mold. No more moving treads, no spring-up action (completely different chassis), and no hatch for figures on the rear underside. Also, the canopy is tinted blue instead of red, as pictured on the box (which bums me out as I thought the red canopy on the blue tank looked super badass).

Finally opened up my Red Ninja... :o

Pretty impressive figure.  I'm not sold on the swivel ankles for all the figures (the trooper doesn't really need it), but on a ninja, it's pretty cool.

Hmm...that makes sense, with the Joe troopers.  I got my black CC at Wal Mart.  Haven't seen a blue one at all.

Just curious, what are you guys seeing more of, the blue cape or tan cape GI Joe troopers?  So far I've only seen one blue, everything else (maybe six or so) tan.

I picked up a movie HISS at Target...close call on those three packs, but passed. Target had plenty of the entire first wave, including Red Ninjas and GI Joe troopers (including brown capes, which I hadn't seen before), but at $10 each, they can eat a bag of wet dicks.

I don't know if that was it--at least, not the only thing.  General's Joes had a report from someone who saw the test screening and said it was terrible.  No character development, enormous plot holes, and various scenes and characters thrown together in a hodge podge of senseless sequencing.  The returns probably came back negative, and the studio figured it would be better to try and fix it than to let it tank.  Or, at very least, to enhance it with 3D to make sure that most of the people who only see it once will pay a $5 premium to see the piece of ****.

I don't think the sky is falling quite as much as people think.  If they were being yanked, I'm pretty sure they would have been yanked from HTS first.  You can still get a full set of wave 1 with free shipping there.

Snagged Zartan, Snake Eyes, green trooper, Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander and a Red Ninja. Left Duke, a Cobra trooper, and Roadblock.

The green trooper looks like Master Chief.  SS and CC are the standouts.

I found the movie versions of Hawkeye and Black Widow and two comic series Skrull Soldiers today. The Hawkeye head sculpt kinda sucks, but Black Widow is great.

Edit: got home and opened 'em up...holy smokes, Black Widow's good. Excellent sculpt, great paint job (on mine, anyway) and full articulation including ankles and wrists as well as double jointed knees. She's the highlight of this line so far, by far.

Finally saw the Lizard from this wave. Look like the aliens in V. No labcoat. Easy pass, though I may pick up an ultra poseable movie costume Spidey.

I saw some of these today...barely noticed them with that ****** packaging.  The figures I saw (Roadblock with the gun-hand and the Snake Eyes and Firefly motorcycles) looked like total crap. Happy Meal toys. I'm a huge Joe nerd, but so far, I'm extremely unimpressed.

I haven't seen them mentioned; if so I missed it and am being redundant, but I saw some Avengers 4 Packs exclusive to Wal Mart.  There were two sets; one with Black Widow, Cap, Thor, and Iron Man, and another with Hulk, Loki (version from the Frost Giant set), Hawkeye, and another Iron Man.  I picked up the Hulk one for the Hulk and the Loki.

I was still a little groggy when I posted that, but I'll just say, it was far and away the coolest thing I've ever seen. So much more than a concert...it was a whole theatrical performance.  The meaning has changed a bit, too, so there is more than just spectacle. Instead of being almost self-indulgently introspective about the difficulties of being a rock star, it's taken on a bigger meaning about society and togetherness in spite of institutional and commercial forces. It was just amazing, and really a dream come true to have seen.
