Vintage Kenner / Re: Tell me about trilogo carded figures please?
« on: August 14, 2004, 02:23 AM »
The tri-logo card have become much more valuable in the recent years, kinda like the Droids and Ewok stuff. Taking a look in the 1997 ed. of Tomarts Guide, the prices was way lower on stuff like this than the price of today. Still I would say that Steve Sansweet was way off valuing the tri-logo stuff, espically General Madine.

Vintage Kenner / Re: Complete Loose Figure Collection?
« on: August 14, 2004, 02:12 AM »
If you start collecting a collection will nver be complete, there is allways another variations.

Well seriously, new variations are discovered all the time, most of them are very tiny almost insignificant. I have desided to pass most of them by, but I do know collectors, who would accept even the slightes variation like FX-7 with red or orange eye, or Nien Nunb in cold-red or warm-red mold.

But there are alos discovered important variations still ,like the Han Solo (Hoth) witl the legs molded in brown, Dave Myatt found last year. The two variaitions look very different on pictures, but I still have to se this "new" on in person.

Today I'm four variations short to have what I would call a complete collection (the Han Hoth + 3 tri-logo variations). Of cause im alo missing DT Vader and DT Obi, but they are out of range imo. (The trilogo ones are: Rebel Solider (darkbrown jacket), Rebel Commander (very dark boots) and Luke Bespin (dark boots)).

Vintage Kenner / Re: kellerman collection for sale??
« on: August 14, 2004, 02:05 AM »
Hopefully he is not leaving the Star Wars community for good, which I don't think he is. A man who put so much time, efford and work into making a book like he did, simply can't leave his hbby behind.

On a side note, every collector should order a copy of his book. I don't collect cared figures only loose (specializing on variations), but I still bought it along with three other danish collectors. It was send to me, and it was I who ordered them from his aplication page, so I comunicated at bit with him back then, he seems to be a very nice guy.

Vintage Kenner / Re: Droids and (shudder) Ewoks.
« on: August 4, 2004, 01:21 PM »
I bought neither since they aren't movie cannon, EU sucks :P

Although a Droids 3PO and R2 would be nice to have someday

Hate to admit it, but I have to agree with Scott on this one.

I too don't like theStar Wars  EU, neither books, comics, figures or anything else related to it. I do like a good book, especially a sci-fi novel, but just not Star Wars.

Only EU figure I have is the Imperial Sentinel, because of it's semilarities to the vintage unproduced Atha Prime figure.

Actually I have some Droids and Ewok figures too, but they are all up for sale.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Selling Collections
« on: August 4, 2004, 01:13 PM »
Interesting topic Scott.

Once I too wanted all Star Wars toys i could get, but now I have incresed it to only collect loose vintage figures and variations. Besides I keep the creatures and a few smaller vehicles.

Playsets and larger vehicles have been sold, oris up for sale. Also the LEGO I got as a "farewell gift" at my former job will be up for sale, the only problem is that some of it will be damn big to send, especially the Star Destroyer.

btw: I have not regretted selling these vehicles, after a month or so i did regret it, but not anymore (exept for a Rancor so I had to by myself a new one).

That many have been made???  :o

That reaaly shows how much attention I show the modern stuff.  ;) To my defence I have to say that only a samll part of the PotJ and Saga lines have reached the stores here in Denmark.

Watto's Junk Yard / Star Wars Tag-team Tournament
« on: July 31, 2004, 07:21 AM »
For those of you who know the tournaments made by "Chewbacca - the Namechanger" on Rebel Scum, the rules need not to be axpalined. For those who don't, here is a small introduction.

First you pick a team of two Star Wars characters, if possible with some realation (eg. Han & Chewie or R2-D2 & C-3PO), you think should be nominated to enter the tournament (you can max nominate 4 teams). When we have 16 teams the fights starts. You pick a match, write the story and declare the winner - simple as that.

So without futher due I nominated these teams:
Han Solo & Chewbacca
Boba Fett & Jango Fett
2-1B & FX-7
Lobot & The Ice-Cream Maker Guy

I don't keep on track with the modern figures from Hasbro. I am aware they have made the OTC line and the retro line,  but I'm not sure wich figures is in those line and I probley don't know half of the Saga figures.

So what I would like to know is which vintage figure have yet to be made in the modern line, I'am aware of those, but could be wrong:

Squid head
Nikto (red version)
Klaatu (Palace Guard)
Barada ?
Bespin Security Guard
Anakin Skywalker (old)
Chief Chirpa
Teebo
Paploo
Lumat
Warok
Romba
FX-7 ?
Rebel Soldier (brown suit) ?
General Madine

All of them.  ;D

Ok, seriously I do think there are quite some vintage figures that are better than their modern counterparts. I might not be objective, since I only collect vintage.

These are definatly better in the vintage line:
Emperor's Royal Guard
Bib Fortuna
Jawa
Weequay
Rancor Keeper
Luke (Jedi Knight)

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: IT is coming
« on: July 24, 2004, 01:29 PM »
Finnaly Lobot's Duplex is back up. I think, no I know that millions of Star Wars fans arround the world had been waiting for this.

Now both Lobot and The Ice Cream Makes Guy (what a tag-team they would be, forget about C-3PO and R"-D2 or han Solo and Chewbacca) has their own pages. Next step has to be jjks' release of his "Pote Snitkin's Upper Wst Side Flat" he's dremaing about.

Keep up the good work OCB and Virex.
