Vintage Kenner / Re: General Madine Tri-logo MOC Holy Cow!
« on: January 22, 2004, 08:48 PM »
Considering the true rarity of the Tri-logo General Madine... I actually think Rob paid quite a fair price really!  8)

Although I have also heard of two examples being sold cheaply at UK toyfairs recently! = One for about £500 and another for only £350 GB Pounds!  ::)

I always cringe when I see Tri Madines on eBay! =

Vintage Kenner / Re: IG-88 variation???

Hi Henrik!

I observed that particular auction too!  ::)

I strongly believe it wasn't an original release as only the very early ESB Kenner photography shows the FS figure with those black details?  ???

Hence I strongly suspect it was just a custom figure!  :-\

GREAT DESCRIPTIONS!

= THANKS for the link Chris, I really enjoyed reading your observations!   8)

The Bossk with the paler limbs is known as the 'Orange Faced' variant!

= It was the earliest version found in Kenner Baggies/Mailer Boxes and on early Kenner ESB cards! Hardly any of these 'Orange Faced' Bossks 'crossed the pond' to Europe (originally) either!

ESB figures tend to have the most variations! My favourite Bossk figure can be found on European Tri-logo and RotJ Palitoy cards ...it was manufactured in a slightly 'cheaper' quality plastic and has NO 'Hong Kong' on the back of the leg! =

Hi Chris!

I can remember reading your very interesting observations on the Imperial Commander figure... BUT I sadly missed this thread (and your link) on the Rebel Soldier figure?  ???

I honestly adore all vintage variations ...I'd love to know what you actually spotted? = It's always cool to read other collector's 'pointers'! 8)

There are countless numbers of variations to be found 'out there' and I'm slowly attempting to catalogue as much as I can for 'reference material'!  ::)

Here are the Rebel Soldiers I'm currently 'aware of'! =

= Please excuse the 'fuzzy' pic ...my camera was in need of repair! = I'll take another one soon!  ;)

HERE IT FINALLY IS! = http://community.webshots.com/photo/86882099/114044876mkxIhS

I wonder IF you purchased it back in July?  ::)

The Lumat and Paploo figures (both made in Mexico) have NO markings on them anyway! + They are only found in baggies with NO text too!

Vintage Kenner / Re: Difference between ROTJ/Droids Boba Fett?
« on: December 1, 2003, 07:39 PM »
THANKS for the warm welcome guys!  ;)

Brad...

...first off you should know that all seven of those Boba Fetts in that particular picture are light blue 'Tri Variants'! (So it's not the lighting! ;))

To 'identify' your Fett, firstly look on the back of it's leg and see what 'Place of Manufacture' it states? = It's the simplist way to confirm it's origins! (Though some early Mexican LL Fetts have 'Made in Hong Kong' on them? ::))

The 'regular' Boba Fett is the Hong Kong version!

BUT the Taiwan variant is pretty 'regular' too in my opinion!   ::)

There are two main Lili Ledy versions (removable and NON removable rocket) and four main variants of the Tri-logo version (painted knee/painted dart, painted knee/UNpainted dart, UNpainted knee/painted dart, UNpainted knee/UNpainted dart)!

= I truly adore the 'variances' in the Tri-logo figures!  8)
