Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Stupid tech question on burning DVD's
« on: May 6, 2004, 12:12 PM »
If there is no copy protection, and the data will fit onto one DVD, then your software should have some sort of simple back-up option.  That is: read this disc, record a hard drive image of said disc, burn the image onto this blank disc.  Simple.

BUT, if there are any problems fitting onto a single-layer disc (most commercial discs are dual-layer), or any pesky Macrovision issues then you’ll need some more software.  I can tell you what to do if you want to shoot me a PM, but for the purposes of posting here, I don’t have any idea how this stuff works and can’t begin to advise you regarding how to backup a DVD.  ;)

Power of the Jedi / Re: Force Files?
« on: May 6, 2004, 11:58 AM »
Today I found a Euro Han Bespin Capture to open.  So here for all you North Americans is what the quad-logo Force Files look like.  Interestingly,  instead of the usual Hasbro tactic of simply removing images to cram all the text in, they actually increased the number of pages to 16!

Maybe that's what his message above is about???

Saga '02-'04 / Re: TRU Naboo 4 Pack
« on: April 30, 2004, 03:03 PM »
I am starting my loose collection again…or at least getting some of the better figures to display.  The Naboo Royal Guard was always one of my favourite figures and looks a bit silly carded IMHO, so it will be good to get one loose again.  It was never very easy to find here, so this set could be the better bet for me.  That was one figure I really hated to sell, but I needed the money at the time.

I also liked the POTJ Gungan Warrior, so I wonder if a version of that (perhaps a rescultp) will be in this set? I hope so, again another figure I was sad to see go.

BD’s are always good to have. I’ve still got my Tarpals so I chuck one of them out, depending on the sculpt.

They show like 9 topics per page - and threads go to the next page after what seem slike a very small number of posts - the WAP thread (your stance on it aside) went from an already outrageous 315 pages to over 1100.

You can set topics / replies per page in you profile.

Seriously, I can only post with my old PC here. I can no longer use my XP machine OR post from work (which is the majority of occasions).

[edit] woops  :-[

Yes, I've actually tried posting...works fine when Norton is disabled.

Edit: can't get into the site at all now - I'll try it out with my other (Non-Norton) machine.

I have Norton and will have to leave  ;) ...can't have a Mod without the ability to post and there's no way I'm turning Norton off :(

Edit: smilies entered in the appropriate places.

It’s a bit slow at the moment :(

Not sure I like the default colours either, but at least  the forum is now skinable.

I got all my old PMs back too…along with about 150 new admin-related ones!

I have mostly stopped too, simply because I have all the ones (bar King of the Dead & Rohan Merry) that I want  :)

It was great not to be a MOMC completist for once  :P

Two VCDs would work fine…I have done that myself for one of my friends :)

I have compiled a DVD-r (just the 20 episodes plus the Toonami “Making Of…”, I don’t have access to the commentaries) and it looks very good, considering the sources are QuickTime mov files.

As noted above it is NTSC, but mine is Region-free. I would have thought you would still be able to play it since nearly all European TVs an DVD players have PAL and NTSC modes. Your DVD player would also have to be compatible with DVD-Rs.  Should be no problems at all with VCDs.

No promises because I’ve never sent anything to Romania before, but I’m pretty sure I could get a 2 disc VCD set or a DVD-r over to you.  UK and Romania are both in the Royal Mail’s “Europe” posting zone so I will look into what’s involved if you want.

I don’t really want anything in trade because I only collect figures, but if you were willing to pay for the blank discs (either 2 CD-Rs or 1 DVD-R) + the postage then I think we could sort something out.  The only other problem would be that I could only accept payment in UK Pounds Sterling via a PayPal account.

As an estimate, 2 CD would be £1.50 (or £1.25 for a DVD) + Airmail to Romania would be about £1.18. See the Royal Mail’s prices on their website:

Let me know,
Rob :)
