The Original Trilogy / Re: Questions for Kershner???
« on: December 2, 2004, 03:03 AM »
I wish I'd have known about this; I would've gone. I think it probably would've killed me to sit and watch Lucas' mucked version, though, especially with the director of the real film right there.

Ask him if he had an opportunity to direct ROTJ, and if so, does he regret not doing it.
That was my first thought. Would he have been interested? What would he have done with the film?

And of course...

-What's Kershner's thoughts on the "creative changes" that Lucas is exercising over the films decades after their release?  Does he approve or disapprove of these ideas?  Does he feel they improve the films (especially ESB)?

I have 4. Hope to get a few for Christmas.

I haven't bought an ML since Torch. But i'm pretty stoked to get his antithesis, Iceman!

I'll be picking up Doc Ock, too.

Got gray Fett. Looks awesome, just wish his leg joints were tighter.

Might get Chewie....

See in the 3rd poster, unbeknownst to most fans....Darth Vader was also a trend setter.  He was one of the first to really make the preppie "collar-up" a popular fashion statement...way ahead of the 80's fashion fads to follow.

Thus making the vintage Kenner figure quite accurate. :D

Kubricks / Re: Kubricks and Minimates

Well, its Kermit, Gonzo, Fozzie, Piggy and Sam the Eagle

$29 shipped per set, $25 if you come and pick them up in person

I'd like to sell them by the set, I have an extra Kermit too, $5 plus shipping :)
If I don't have anything you'd want in trade, I might get those from you payday. But since it's a "maybe", don't hang onto 'em for me if you get a solid offer. Thanks

I don't know how many of you buy/collect/display posters, but I really enjoy them.  My wife bought me the Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi movie posters, and framed them, for my birthday a couple of years ago.  I've always wanted to get the rest of the series, to have all six movie posters displayed.  For now, I just want to get the New Hope one next, and I have been trying to decide which version to pick up.  I was curious what some of your opinions are, between these two posters (courtesy AllPosters.com).  Also, feel free to post any posters you like, enjoy, collect, etc.  Really looking forward to that VOTC ANH poster that Hasbro put together as well, looked pretty neat.  Anyways, which of these do you prefer for A New Hope (or Star Wars, as we used to know it)?
This:

Or This:

You should probably display the one you like. But I think the Jung one is considered the Star Wars one-sheet. It's always been synonymous with the movie for me. I like the second one too, but it's never fit as Star Wars' theatrical poster in my mind.

I also really love the swashbuckling "Style D" poster.

I just got the Thundarr the Barbarian I-Men, finally, after wanting them for months. That was one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid, and I'm pretty stoked to finally get these little boogers. :D

Any pics?
Out of character for me, I actually haven't taken any yet. Except for a shot of unopened stuff I got a few days ago. I'll take some shots today. :)

Anyone who needs Muppets Kubricks (minus Beaker) I still have 2 sets left (hint hint)
What characters? I'd like Kermit and Gonzo.

What do you want from the list?
Oh, I'm sorry....I didn't need any of that Comic Con stuff. Do you have a list of figures...?
