I have several of the fx electronic with the stick in Luke. I passed on the Dagaboh one last time,  but will probably get it this time. Sigh. I keep saying I am done with this hobby  . . . . . . ::)

Also, Blackdog the black trimmed one is also a Clone Wars gunship. A red trimmed one is from AOTC.

You are correct. The Red trim was the first one that came out was with the Saga wave (1st) and was AOTC.  The Black Trimmed one that I am showing in my pictures is a Clone Wars Gunship.  I guess we would call the new one the Animated Clone Wars Gunship.

Here are some pictures of the ship put together, and with some troops in it, and comparing them side by side to two other gunships from AOTC and ROTS.

The shark mouth is painted on the ship and is not a decal. Some were wondering.

There is some weathering on the side edges (see picture)

I hate the missiles on this ship  . . . . they are grey (on the box t hey show red). You can see how the grey look in the picture below. I swapped out the grey and put them in the ROTS ship (looks somewhat better) and put the red in the CW Ship which I think is a major improvement.

As usual, figures don't stand up that well in the gunship, and with the ARC's their antenea visor has to be flipped down to stand them up.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Ordering TSC Figures by the Case?
« on: May 1, 2006, 09:52 AM »
I know I ordered my wave 5 case from EE on 4/20 because I wanted to ensure that I would receive this wave. That and combined with my schedule for the next 2 months means little hunting for me. Just easier that way. I know they will show up at retail before I get em, but that is okay, I'll get em without the added cost of gas, wear and tear on the car, and the loss time which is perhaps the biggest issue for me.

Interesting listen.  This year I know this. IF I am at a Target at opening and it is the day they receive a shipment you can score new figures. Same thing with Walmart. IF your there on the night they get the new stuff, and IF you are willing to open the cases or get permission to do so you can get the new stuff. Finally, IF you know your secondary market of retailers, and if you either have some luck or can figure out their stocking days, you can score new product. Finally, you can order online and get your items after they hit retail (If you order from EE it seems).  Bottom line, Hasbro should have 1)expected to sell less this year and built that into their business plan. IF I had not done that on the unit I led at a fortune 500 company, my Exec. VP would have had my head. Second, is the same issue that has been going on for years in a non-movie year. They need to ensure that more product is out. Now we are heading into the dry summer months and the Tatooine wave and Endor wave will probably be some of the tougher waves to find. Hasbro needs to take the blunt of their poor profits because they did not anticipate demand for their product, and yes Jesse, your right, they invested into lame new lines that their research should have told them would never have sold.  The choppers and transformers should have came out with the movie last year, IF you wanted to gamble and see what they would have done.   You use the momentum of a movie to bring out new stuff and build a following. Unfortunetly, I think both lines are rather lame, and are poor product choices.
What I would really like to see and be a fly on the wall, are the meetings between senior executives on what their strategy for the line is. So far, it sounds like they are planning on the line dying off a slow death. That's not good in the long term for the line. Just because they have a license doesn't mean we will always see product every year. Next year, yes due to the 30th anniversary. By 2010 though, I could see Hasbro issuing specific VOTC type figures or  series of special figures each year, or every other year. I really believe that Hasbro will mis-manage the line such that it will eventually die off. Sad really.

I'll be passing . . . I agree with Jesse price point is not what I want to pay for these. That and combined with the small lava scene on something that seems mainly on Coruscant, I just don't like it.  I can understand though why some may want it though.

Chewie, I would agree with you that this is not the best articulated set of figures. Having said that, I know I will pick up one, because what I am wanting out of this year is very quickly dying (unless the VTSC come out with more). I want most of the Tat. wave, but only 3 figures out of the Endor wave, maybe some duplicates for customs.

Mine is fine.  No swap aroo here! We are going to open it up this evening and put it together. I'll post some more pictures here when I do if people want. Let me know if you have questions about the ship.

Let me clarify. Ship is $44.99 plus tax so it put my SON (12) back $47.96.  He wants me to point out that he owns the ship, not me, and that he bought it with money that he saves working with me and his Mom cleaning her work 1x a week. Anyway, its $48 roughly.

Picked up a Clone Wars Gunship today. Cost is $44.99 plus tax or $47.96 in my neck of the woods.

Edit: Let me clarify. My 12 year old son was with me, and he works with us in cleaning my wife's work 1x a week and earns money for doing this. He has a CD that he saves into (30% of the $50 he gets a month) and saves the rest so he can buy stuff when he sees something he wants.
Anyway, he pointed out to me that I DID NOT buy this, but he did and it is his. I wrote a check and he had to go with me and withdraw the money so I could deposit into the checking account. Long story, but its important to him so thanks.

Well, I got one of the Clone Wars Gunships today.  Here is the picture with receit. The store I got em from only got 2 in so they are not hitting in mass.  It helps to have the item # when you go into the store. BTW, yes, I had not finished making the bed when I took the pictures. . . .

Saw this over at RS and looked for a thread here, I didn't find one but if there is one, feel free to delete this since I am pretty tired.

Do you think these will sell or peg warm? I know I'll pick up some SA 41 Clones for customs that my son wants done but that is about all.

Ok, I did not score these, but a close friend saw a collector who bought two today in Utah.  Two stores in Utah each got 1 case of 2 ships today and they sold out ASAP! These did hit so they are out there, just not in abudance yet.  The other stores are not scheduled to get them for at least a week now.

As a further fyi, in our district in Utah the ARC Troopers/Hunt for Grevious/Defense of the Senate TRU exclusive is not in the warehouse here as of 8:30pm tonight. It usually takes 7-10 days from what I've been told for the items to go from warehouse to store so those are still about one to two weeks out. I definetly want one of these, but I  am waffling on the gunship due to the price.

So they are out in a small numbers, a trickle, so if your by a TRU and they have gotten a truck in, you might want to check.

Modern Trading / VTSC Stickers
« on: April 27, 2006, 08:57 PM »
I saw a thread like this at scum and would rather give out extra stickers here. I have one set that I have mailed in and I have the following for a second set:

1 Luke, 1 Tusken, 1 Biker

I need a Han sticker and a Greedo sticker to finish my second set to get a 2nd Lucas Stormtrooper.

I have 1 extra Tusken sticker and 1 extra Biker sticker if someone wants em. I will send mine out by 1st class mail.

Anyone else want to join?

What pisses me off most about that pic is that that Target is selling figs for $5.89. What gives?

In my area I have noticed that we have 3 non-Super Targets and they are selling the figures right now at $5.89. The Super Targets are selling for $6.99.  Sounds like a business move on Target's part for their regular vs Super stores.
