We now know why LFL turned them down... too much money to be made from all the other colleges.

I love how the University of Virginia was listed among the "marquee universities."  Wahoowa!

The ones of the gymnast were taken when she was underage.  Nude photos of someone underage can be considered child pornography.

"Can" being the operative term, there.  In order for an underage photo to violate federal law, it has to either depict abuse or a "sex act."  A pretty tame shower shot is neither.  The idea that the FBI is banging on doors of people who downloaded that file is laughable.  I can understand the girl's manager making such a claim in an attempt to scare people away from looking for it - that's a manager's job.  But for the news to make such a false claim is irresponsible.

State laws (under which various teens have been prosecuted for selfies) are an entirely different thing.

The news doesn't know what it's talking about.  Either that, or they're sensationalizing.  For the photos to constitute a federal crime they'd need to depict a lot worse than a selfie.

AMC orders pilot episode of Walking Dead companion series.

Here's hoping they set it in Pittsburgh.   ;D

The past few seasons have been much better, IMO.  There was a brilliant anime-themed episode this last season with a ridiculous number of references.  There are still good and bad episodes, but there have been a lot of good.

The Ultimates Universe Nick Fury character design was based off Sam Jackson.  When they cast Nick Fury for the movies, they went with the Ultimates version (as they did with more than a few plot elements).  The movie Nick Fury was such a hit, that when the Ultimates Universe had a cross-over event with the traditional Marvel Universe, they decided to swap Nick Furys so the Marvel Nick could keep an eye on the Ultimates universe, and vice-versa.  So now the regular Marvel Nick Fury is Sam Jackson.

The comic books are insignificant from a business perspective.  They really have no impact on the performance of the films.  They do these stunts to generate short-term sales boosts.  The publishing arm does what it can to create buzz and stay afloat.  The movies earn half a billion to a billion and a half each.

I read an analysis of Marvel "cancelling" Fantastic Four to hurt Fox movie sales.  And they concluded it was ridiculous.  They said Fox could take out a full-page ad inside the Fantastic Four comic saying "F-you!  Don't see our movie!" and it would only cut like half a million from the gross.  That's if every FF reader boycotted the movie.

We're in an age now when the "real" Iron Man is Robert Downey Jr., and movie canon supersedes book canon.

I read that both Batman and Wonder Woman were operating "in the shadows" and had established "mythical" reputations.  Or something.  Because everyone knows Wonder Woman does her best work in secret, out of the public eye.  Hence the inconspicuous outfit.

Add in Cyborg, GL, Flash... maybe they were like the Secret Defenders!

Were GL and Flash confirmed?  Hadn't heard that.
