Watto's Junk Yard / Oak Island Treasure
« on: January 13, 2004, 04:50 PM »
My buddy gets me the Rolling Stone magazine every year for Christmas and the latest issue has a really interesting article on the mystery treasure of Oak Island.  The island is situated off the coast of Nova Scotia.

A series of digs and booby traps, neat engineering features and the like are riddled throughout the island.  There are theories that Pirates in the late 1500 buried Spanish plunder there, also the FreeMasons buried the Ark of the Covenant or the Holy Grail there and there is also a theory that proves that Sir Francis Bacon wrote all of Shakespeare's play and not Bill S.

This sort of all plays on the Goonies theme of finding lost treasure but I thought it was a cool read even though the whole thing might be bull

Yahoo has a pretty intersting story on the future of SW Lego.  Hard to say if they are going to axe the line or not but it doesn't sound promising

Watto's Junk Yard / Curb Your Enthusiasm

I can't believe I haven't watched this show before (we've had HBO for about 5 months now) but I've been catching it non stop on the HBO network the past few weeks.  Larry David is absolutely brilliant, this is Seinfeld with swearing, it truly is the best show on TV right now behind NFL Football.  The show reeks Costanza and with good reason since George is basically Larry...amazing, brilliant work

I'm an idiot for just finding this out

JD Sports Forum! / Starring Pete Rose As The Gambler

On a Warms Summers Evening
In a Dugout in Cincinnatah
Met up with Charlie Hustle
We were both too tired to speak
So we took turns a hittin
At Homeplate out yonder
'til we got bored of it
And he began to speak

Finally this idiot admitted he did what he did.  I believe him that he never bet against the Reds and I think he has a  huge point in the fact that he said if he was caight snorting Cocaine he'd get 6-12 months and be in the HOF already.  4192 was huge, I still remember that and I think he does deserve to be in the Hall of Fame, I hope this finally lets it happen

Watto's Junk Yard / Big Fish
« on: January 5, 2004, 11:12 AM »

I have a small pet peeve with year end movies that are out only to get consindered for Academy Awards and then don't show up nationwide for weeks and weeks later.

ANyway, this has been my second most looked forward to movie of 2003 ::) And it finally opens nationwide this weekend.  I have heard nothing but glowing reviews both on the boards and from what I have read.  I really love Tim Burton so I can't wait to see how this all turns out.  Anyone seen it yet...interested in going...Pearl Jam is on the Soundtrack...Ewan McGregor stars...

JD Sports Forum! / Poker
« on: January 5, 2004, 12:17 AM »
I played a version of the World Series of Poker last night ($5 a guy x 10 guys) and it was an absolute blast.  Unfortunately it took forever to get to the end and I was on kid detail this morning so I had my piss poor brother take over for me when I left at 1 AM.  I was in 2nd place at the time.  I guess he took 4th out of 10, there went my $45.

I have been watching the WS of Poker off and on the last few months and find it to be awesome.  We used to play poker for Baseball Cards back in the day and also for pennies and nickles in High School and College.  I miss those days...anyone else play cards regularly?

Fan Art / Ice Cream Maker Guy
« on: December 17, 2003, 10:23 AM »

I had the wonderfully talented Bill Cable give me his take on the one and only Ice Cream maker Guy.  I think his idea of the Ice Cream Maker being a ice cream slinging cannon is one of sheer brilliance.  Make sure you head on over to   http://creaturecantina.com/   for more of Bill's work.  And sign the Hasbro 3-34" ICMG Petition if you haven't done so already.

Thanks again Bill!  And a question for all...what flavor is he slinging?

Original Trilogy Collection / Vintage Style Figures from Hasbro???
« on: December 15, 2003, 10:08 AM »
A rumor popped up in the Rebelscum forums that said Hasbro has plans to release Vintage Style figures in 2004. The plans for which are still sketchy however...could be rereleases ala the MOTU figures. Could be new never before done figures sculpted in a vintage style ala Tarkin, Cantina Band Member. Or it might be Prequel figures again sculpted in a vintage style. Sounds like a cool idea and we'll keep you posted if more news comes down the pipe.
