Saga '02-'04 / Luke and Darth: A New Hope...What are they?
« on: May 20, 2003, 09:48 AM »
A month or so ago TPU posted a retailer order sheet which contained a new Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader separate from the ROTJ versions.  Kebco recently posted the same bit of news but added that they were from ANH.

Are they repacks or are they new figures.  And if they are repacks, which ones do you think they are?

I just counted 120 Hulk figures at Wal Mart, every peg full none were sold.  There are only 2 to choose from.  Maybe after the movie these will see a big push but I'm not going to hold my breath

There is a distinction there between metal and rock I think though grunge is sort of a metal/punk blend and while it is somewhat related I'd call it more rock then metal, it's semantics really and why not call it all rock.   :-*

Well, the Twins clawed their way back into first place for the first time in a while by sweeping the Pale Hose this weekend.  Next up 12 games against the A's and M's might not be in 1st after that.  They are finally swinging the bats though

I actually went to my first game in 2 years against the Red Sox a few weeks back.  The Twins shut them out and beat Pedro.  Their bullpen is awful and they are tied with the Yanks  :o

Wow, cool tip there Matt.  I still stnad by my earlier sentiment that these would make awesome Fan Club exclusives.  I am not sure what volume Hasbro demands for exclusives though which may be a problem.  For the right pieces (HEM DAZON, TONNIKA SISTERS, MYO etc) the amount may not matter.  Two or three of these a year with perhaps booths and table sections would be all too sweet!

Man you're right Matt, best wishes and prayers for your mom too Carrie.  They thought my sister had MS last year and she still might her bloodwork and spinal taps have all been normal though.  So I did a lot of reading on MS last year...sounds like with a lot of the recent drug improvements, MS has come a long way in the past 10 years.

So its more doubtful I'll ever see them again :-*  Nah I've been thinking today that I should go just to see what its like, then I never need to go again.  I've also heard wait until the 20 year since a lot of people really haven't changed to much in 10 years

My dad recently found out he has a very small and probably benign brain tumor (in the brain lining) and so I've been thinking about him a lot recently and praying that everything will be fine since he has always been one of my best buddies.

My prayers and best wishes are with your dad and your family, Scott...
Thanks Matt :)

And Chris...nice choice!

I'm with the used to category as well Matt not there is anything wrong with having athletes as heros Lenny

My dad and both of my grandfathers are very much hero worthy and I always try to live my life by their fine example.  My dad recently found out he has a very small and probably benign brain tumor (in the brain lining) and so I've been thinking about him a lot recently and praying that everything will be fine since he has always been one of my best buddies.

Both of my grandpas were in WWII which really wasn't a huge deal for me until I saw Saving Private Ryan.  One of them was very close to being sent over on D-Day but came down with meningitis  days before the invasion and was sent home.  The other one fought throughout Italy.  Both of them never talked about it so I realized after seeing the movie why...how could you explain to a kid what happened over there.

Historical heroes of mine include President Theodore Roosevelt who was one of the greatest men of the 20th century.  And author Ernest Hemingway who lived one of the greatest lives of any American, both of whom lived life to the utmost which is what I try to do every day.  So it is more of a emulation rather than anything heroic

I officially decided I am not going when I found out it is $40 a person.  No way no how will I relive the glory years for that price.  Better come down for the 20 year!
