The Vintage Collection / Re: Hasbro Weekly Q and A
« on: September 19, 2006, 04:03 PM »
From GH:

Galactic Hunter: Have we seen the last of the Holiday Edition action figures? Was the Holiday Darth Vader the end for that series?

HASBRO: I doubt it will be the last…but we will not have a Christmas-themed figure next year at least.

-So does this mean there is a Christmas themed figure for this year?-

Other Toy Lines / Re: Pogs Anyone?
« on: September 19, 2006, 09:48 AM »
I have a few hundred that were given to me 10 years ago, but I never quite caught on to this pog thing.  Do kids people still "play" with these things as I can't quite recall what you do with them....

He exists.  I've even seen him in person.  ;)

Give him a break, he's probably just busy.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Taking a Look at the Toy Aisle...
« on: September 14, 2006, 05:45 PM »
I'll usually just do a quick scan of the action figure aisle to see what else is new.  I also collect some Transformers, but the eye doesn't have to wander too far from the SW stuff.  I see that those Ben 10 toys are attracting lots of attention from kids which is good.  I've caught the show a few times and have to say that I've enjoyed it.

I hate checking out at a TRU because the weekends tend to be the only time that they have more than one cashier to check out. To avoid this I go and check out in the Electronics area.

I hate checking out at a TRU any time of day during any day of the week.  I too bypass the mess by checking out at electronics.  Otherwise on average it's a 4-8 minute wait everytime.

I've thought about sending in for that second Season 6 box, but I'd guess that the offer is expired by now? Season 6 has been out for about a year now, but who knows.

20th Century just cashed my check yesterday for Season 6 and I sent it out almost two months ago.  YAY!  I finally get to toss Homer's head out.

I'm in the same boat as you guys.  What gold ships will be coming with the TF Falcon??  I know one was a Tie, but was the other an X-Wing?  I guess I didn't pay too much attention to the photo wherever I saw it last.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Holy Trilogy on DVD!

What does the tin cost?

Too much IMO.  $59.99 I believe.

These things were rotting at Target and WM.  Looks like the ROTJ DVD was a bit more popular at Target as there were 2-3 copies taken from the new release stands.  Otherwise it was chalked full at both stores (unless both stores restocked this evening.)  I could care less about a tin, lithographs, or comics so I'm going to wait as I bought the original set last year of which I'm very satisfied with.  I'm glad that my OCD doesn't extend to my DVD collecting habits.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Official Movie Thread

Why does everybody keep saying that this movie will suck ass?  I've stayed away from scripts or plots, but I actually like the design of the bot modes minus Screamer....Hello...It's been 20 years and no Megatron cannot be a sleek gun in this day in age (note: Hasbro would need to make a toy of this)  This movie can't be based on 80's vehicle/robot designs.  Things need to be updated to fit a new era.  So what if Michael Bay is directing this?  He's had some shining moments in the past (and some duds) but I'm hoping this movie will pull something off.  I'm just not sure it will be able to shine through with all the "other" huge flicks coming out next summer.  Time will tell.

Can you knock the animated version made 20 years ago?  I still cherish that movie as it brings back a feeling of nostalgia - for me at least.

I have no idea - maybe for PR?  He looks pretty cool even though some of you think the movie will tank.

I've yet to hit a WM today, and I wasn't planning on picking these up, but gotta love the packaging + the price.  Any other saps out there having luck finding these?

Haven't seen a pic of Soundwave yet, but here's...Bumblebee.  Quite an upgrade from what he was 20 years ago.

SPOILER!

Purty!!  I love the Titanium line...Looks like you have some work to do with your BSG and TF collection though  ;)

I'm a strict carded collector and have only bought an extra of the Imperial Shuttle (my fav) to display loose at work.
