Other Collectibles / Re: Unleashed Again
« on: January 21, 2005, 08:15 PM »
I'll reiterate what I've said a bunch of times: as a group, I think the PT Unleashed are better than the OT.  The OT always has the love, but I think the poses and execution of the PT are better.  Dooku, Windu, Anakin are all fantastic.

After opening Windu and Dooku, I've got to say that the PT ones are at least as good as OT.  They are really great poses and damn good likenesses.  As a whole, this line continues to provide enjoyment for me, and it's actually hard to say one is better than the other.  My favourite is probably still Boba Fett, with the Tusken, Yoda, and Dooku and Windu falling closely behind.  I'm going to have to get the rest of them for sure: both Vaders, Maul, Anakin, Jango, Luke Jedi and Padme.   :)

Just a tiny update:

I picked up Mace Windu and Count Dooku to add to my others, and this line is quickly becoming one of my favourties.  I must have them all!  I can't believe I passed on this line for the first year.  Now if I can only track down Vader...

I just watched Chronicles of Riddick (damn fun movie, BTW) and witnessed a beauty by the names of Alexa Davalos.  She's not really caught on yet I guess, because it's not easy to find pics of her.  The best I could find:

Simple solution - shave it all off, baby!  I've gone the bald route before, and liked it.  After all, it's just hair.   :-*  I'd probably still be bald, but my bosses figured a pharmacist with a bald head and goatee might be intimidating.  Pfff!   :(

90%  48 miles  373 seconds

I thought I could drop a piece outside the map to pick it up again with my mouse more clearly, so that hurt me big time.  And I was off of Arkansas by a couple hundred miles!   :-[

I don't think it's a hotmail defect.  I got a similar style e-mail supposedly from ebay last year, and the exact same problem would happen when I tried to forward it to their "spoof" department.  I think the sender (an ID scavenger) must somehow have something built-in to the e-mail to prevent it from being forwarded.

Another trick to determine if the e-mail is fake is to place your mouse arrow over that link (without clicking it).  Look down at your status bar, usually the fake will be busted by the fact that a different url appears than the one that appears in the e-mail.

On a totally different note:

Can you imagine paying $100 for yet another one of the re-re-re-rehashed Hans?
I don't imagine it'll be selling anytime soon.   ::)

I declare Shenanigans on that ****!

Amen.  Not only they charge 2-3X the domestic shipping price, many sellers (especially online shops) will also add a handling fee as well.  Hey, I know you've got to fill out the customs slip, but is that really worth another $5 to $15?  Argh.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Clone Trooper 4 Packs!
« on: January 21, 2005, 01:01 AM »

It makes me wonder, would EE try to commision a second manufacturing run from Hasbro if they do pre-sell out the 4-packs from the first run?

Jeff

I doubt it.  I would think that they'd just consider the sell-out a success, and perhaps use those production numbers towards another potential (different) exclusive in the future.

I just looked into this:

Insertion fee ($500US +) = $4.80US
BIN fee = $0.05US
Final value fees ($1,000US +) = 5.25% of the initial $25 = $1.31US
                 plus 2.75% of the initial $25.01 to $1,000.00 = $26.81US
plus 1.50% of the remaining closing value balance = $66.37US
Total fee = $71.22

So he spends $71.22 and makes $2500 for a profit of $2428.78.  Not bad for something he pad nadda for.

Hmm.  I guess there's good (less $$ on shipping) and bad (more waiting) involved with that system.  You can tell that I've ordered so many times from SWS.com - once, actually.   :-\

I just wanted to bump this up for anybody that might happen to find any of the last few OTC that I need.  I'd love to track down a Y-Wing and Slave I - anybody even seen these in stores lately?

Who knows?  Maybe the completist gene in someone will actually drive them to buy it.  I imagine (or at least would hope) that this guy doesn't actually expect to get this much $$ for it - he probably figured he'd just set an insane price and if someone bit on the price, what the hell, might as well let it go.

Has anyone received their bust-up stormtroopers from SSw.com yet?

Quiet on this front too.   ::)

Did you ask them to hold the bust until your bust-ups were shipped?  If not, you'd think they would have sent it by now.

$2500?  That's insulting!  Please, please, please tell me that no one will pay that.   ::)
